Not the Experience We Hoped For
Unfortunately, our experience at this all-inclusive hotel did not meet expectations. The rooms were quite small and did not resemble the photos provided online. The bathroom had several issues, and the outdated fittings required multiple maintenance visits during our stay. While the food and cleaning staff were polite and attentive, the overall food quality and variety were below average. We also encountered some unprofessional behavior from certain staff members, especially at the front desk and near the pool area. Another downside was that the poolside bar and snack area closed at 6:30 PM, and the other pool bar only offered beer, which felt limited for an all-inclusive property.

First time Cozumel
Had a great time always found a spot to sit sun or shade. Smaller resort than I am used to but no complaints. The snorkelling was excellent out front as well. Happy friendly service with a smile.

You can't go wrong with this resort. We have traveled to this area previously and the Grand Park Royal blows the compensation out to sea.

Good second experience
Specialty restaurants are very good, especially the Mediterranean (Not just seafood). The service at the specialty restaurants was a little inconsistent. Most evenings we were treated like we were five star guests. We had one evening where the Italian restaurant was having a really hard job trying to keep it together. We received our soup prior to receiving our first appetizer and we had barely received our soup and our dinner was there and then our first appetizer arrived and we had all of our plates still on our table as we had not consumed our food in order. The food quality was as we expected as we have stayed with the Grand Park Royal in Cancun several times. There was a lot of emphasis on upgrading your membership if you are a member. You were given the gold star treatment until you mentioned that you weren’t going to be upgrading at this time as you wanted to keep your homebase. The shuttle service as advertised on their page is not entirely as advertised. Members do not have pre-arranged, free shuttle service. However, if you book from online through their link, you do get provided the service. I am accustomed to having a shuttle from the hotel, pick us up and drop us off at the airport. Having to arrange my own transportation or rely on a cab at the hotel was a little disappointing. Ashley at the Photo Booth was absolutely amazing with us. He offered us a complementary photo session and a complementary photo which was a lot of fun. The prices to purchase extra photos if you wanted to was absolutely reasonable. What I loved about the Grand Park Royal Cozumel was the entertainment staff. We made friends with Edgar, Jazmine, Quenan and Danny. They were all amazing and made our trip what it was. We participated in a lot of the Daily activities. We especially loved learning how to make guacamole and bracelets. We learned very quickly that we are not very coordinated to do Zumba, but it was still a very fun experience. We love the Mayan show, the Mexican evening and the circus. We really wish that the rock show had a little more songs that were familiar to us, but we understand that it was Mexican reading week when we attended so that may not always be the case. There are a few hand sanitizing stations outside of the bathrooms, however, it would be really nice to have hand sanitizing stations in the buffet, especially as so many people are handling the utensils. We brought our own so it wasn’t an issue and I highly suggest others do the same.
