    Vacation

This was a nice spot if yoy have children. I would not recommend going for an anniversary with just a significant other. There are a lot of screaming kids in the exclusive areas. It did not feel like there was a difference that we were travel club members.

    Broken promises

Travel agency and hotel did not properly communicate to ensure our guest wouldn't have any issues during registration for their respective rooms that were originally paid for. Many broken promises about room selections.

This is a record for my next visit

I stayed in this location last week and it was my 3rd visit to Puerto Vallarta (PV) and 1st time in Grand Palladium Vallarta (GPV). I stayed in Family Selection (FS) with on-site upgrade. Also, I start my review with a big shout out to Erkki in the GP reservation center who helped me a lot for the best deal. Before I made a reservation, I read a lot of reviews about this place - summary: noisy, dated, lots of stairs, hygiene issues, good service, great location. So I decided to upgrade to FS for my 2 kids and my parents. As a conclusion, it was very successful and I totally satisfy with the facility and service. I am not 100% sure if I will return to this place for my next visit, but I highly recommend GPV. Noisiness: Yes, in the theater, the performances are going on until the midnight, and on the beach (GPV side), some kind of party after wedding was going on with DJ music. I found some GPV rooms facing to the ocean may had hard time with the sound. But on the FS side, we had no problem. on the hallway, I could hear the bass from the theater but as soon as I close the door, it was totally silenced. Our sleep was not interrupted at all. Even the beach on the FS side was so quiet, so I could enjoy the night ocean with a bottle of beer every night all by myself. Washroom: My standard on cleanness is not that high. Considering the humidity and climate of Mexico, there is certain points that I have to understand. Well, actually, that's why we getaway to Mexico in winter. Isn't it? I was not bothered at all on my use on the bathroom and shower (the shower is kind of too week, I wanted to point this out). It was kind of smelly in the washroom beside the pool, but it is outdoor washroom in the middle of tropical land. Restaurant: The buffet was just a buffet. Nothing more, nothing less than that. The Nest, the restaurant in FS, was great. It was quiet, well-made menu, and great service. (I'm so sorry for the staffs in the next for forgetting their names, You were all awesome.) However, there was not too much eatery for kids, so it'd be better to think about re-designing the menus, especially the dinner. Also, it took too long time to serve the food. My kids got tired of long waiting, and they were totally full with the buns and bread when their main dish were served. The preparation of the meal is supposed to be improved. The Italian restaurant Portofino was fantastic. All of my family loved this place. I know some reviews here are not very positive to Portofino, but please consider I am an Asian and I may have different standard on Italian restaurant. Anyway we loved it, and that's it. My recommendation is Breakfast @ El Bosque buffet Lunch @ the Nest Dinner @ Portofino or La Adelita. (Bamboo? Sorry, but again, I am an Asian and I don't really have any expectation on the 'Asian' restaurant which is not even identified if it is Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Korean or somewhere else) Kids Club: I have stayed @ Iberostar Playa del Mita for my last two visits to PV before the damn COVID, and their Kids Club was all day long without any reservation required. It was my expectation and cause there was no detailed explanation, I thought it should be the same is GPV as well. However, I am still wondering why nobody told me that the Kids Club in GPV has TWO HOUR LIMITS per day, and reservation is required. If GPV is pursuing family friendly hospitality, this must be advanced. In a mean time the pool side activities done by POP staffs were great. They were being a truly great friends/instructor/brothers/sisters for the kids, especially in the FS. I never cannot forget the day my son was having fun with decorating cupcakes, coloring the shirts, making Origamis, playing UNO, and learning how to make cocktails (mocktails) Transportation: If you make a reservation thru the GPV call center or website, you will be able to find a link to book a transportation from/to the airport and the GPV. I paid USD$250 for the round trip with a single private van. It was not bad at all, even though it was run by 'Vallarta Transfers and Incentives' contracted by 'TraficTour' contracted by GPV again. So do not confuse. (Fun thing is, if you quote with Vallarta Transfers and Incentives directly, they will quote you more than $250) Good thing to use this service is, you can enjoy the late check-out until the taxi arrives at the lobby for pick-up. In my case, the regular check-out was 12 o clock and the pick-up schedule was 2 PM, so I could get extra 2 hours of late check-out. I deeply appreciate to all the staffs and members of GPV for their service, and especially the butlers, front desk staffs, and the bartenders of FS. I truly hope to see you guys again.

Best food and place to hang out

If you are staying in the Palladium, the sports bar is the place to be! With great waiters/waitresses and amazing food, this was easily my favorite place to hang out and play games with family. The staff even went out of their way to get me drinks they thought I would like based off of what I had been ordering.

    Relentless sales staff

Nice beach, friendly staff. Buffet food cold unless we went to a station where it was prepared(eggs, tacos, etc) “promotions” sales staff was relentless harassment throughout property and that alone will prevent our return.
