Don't go if you've got food allergies
I've stayed for a week at the Grand Palladium resort. I'm a vegetarian and I've got a few food allergies; nuts, apples and pork. Day one, I decided I couldn't maintain being a vegetarian here. that's a shame but I'm quite flexible so that's not my complaint. When it comes down to my allergies, I feel like I've been playing Russian Roulette all week. As this is an all inclusive resort they ask for your hotel room at all restaurants and buffets. And they also ask if you have food allergies. You expect that the staff know how to deal with it but the reality is a little disappointing. For one, the food cross contamination is horrible. They grill their fish on the same hot plates as pork and everyone uses the same pincers for everything. Bring your own pincers if you're worried about this. Moreover, the staff are really friendly and they mean well but they don't speak enough English to understand the concept of food allergies. A chef showed me around the buffets but that only happened on our first day. Don't expect to see a list of ingredients and don't trust the menus on the app. When in doubt, avoid it. Most importantly, even in the restaurants, it's hard to prepare for what you're getting into. They just write "fish with vegetables" or "steak" and it's up to the guests to guess what that means. We went to the Italian restaurant one time and the manager came in to talk to me about my allergies. He told me the fish was a safe option and I thought I was being taken care of. Trouble came at the dessert. I asked for a panna cotta dessert (that's pretty safe, isn't it) and I specified again that Im allergic to nuts. The staff interpreted that as that I didn't want to have any sprinkles. I was quite disappointed to see that the Panna cotta didn't have the light creamy colour i was expecting. It looked brown and chocolaty. After one bite it tasted awfully like Nutella. I didn't have time to complain about this as I had to rush straight to my hotel room to get lots of anti histamine and asthma inhalers. Not what I call a fun, relaxing experience.

Good, the food and would be better.
The variety of food is huge, on the other hand, it miss flavour. The desserts look so delicious, but it difficult to finish eating. The structure of resort is really good and room is quite comfortable.

Great Holiday
We arrived on the 18/5/23 for 2 weeks and have had a great time, the grounds and hotel are very nice, there's plenty of pools and right on the beach. Food was good, but on occasions food could be cold. Alcohol served was branded but if you did not tip you would not get the branded unless you asked. I cannot say we did not have a great holiday because we did. My biggest issue was how you were treated if you did not speak Spanish as majority of the Entertainment and staff was geared towards Spanish speaking guests, served first, given priority, I can even get over the Electricity going off every five minutes in the room and having to open the door to get it back on very annoying and even when reported nothing done, seems to be more about culture than the actual resort which I thought overall was very good.

DR trip
Property is beautiful. Beach is great too, little crowds. Check in process was long and unorganized.check out was easy. They only came to my room once to fill up mini bar durning stay. Housekeeping was good and used as needed. Lots of dining choices. Steakhouse was my favorite. Pool and beach was close to room, and easy access. Pool is warm and big. Beds were not comfy.

Be Aware of Scam at Check-In
Very disappointed to find out that the room I had booked with my travel agent was unavailable but, suspiciously, an upgraded room was available at an additional cost, payable in US cash only. I paid the additional cost and was brought to the room that I, for certain, had booked with my travel agent. Very upset with this scam!
