  Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa

  It only looks good in the photos; I had a bad experience with the room—there were power outages, a leak in the bathroom, a bad smell coming from the air conditioner, and the fan was noisy.

  Average resort with poor food

  The resort is dated from others we have stayed at. The pools and bars are very nice with a lot of seating. The food was underwhelming and the specialty restaurants we not very good.

  STAY AWAY! DO NOT PLAN A WEDDING HERE!

  They ruined my niece's wedding. Upon arrival we had to wait 5 hours for our rooms and the front desk staff was nasty. People who arrived hours after us were given rooms but each time we questioned , we jut got a smirk. We requested a crib for an 11 month old - we noted it on the reservation, the confirmation, the bride's checklist and the bell staff. We received the crib a day later! Asked for a blanket- that took 5 days.The rooms are dark, and the showers flood the bathroom floor. I got locked out of my room and had to walk a distance to the lobby for a reset twice. There was a 12 hour blackout in 1/2 of the resort leaving us to eat in a pitch dark buffet. There are a few thousand guests at any time, and only 4 restaurants (besides the buffets). No matter when you tried to make a reservation, there were none available.Food selections at the buffets ran out before dining service and and were not replaced.Activities require you to take trolleys to the locations. We waited over an hour for a return trolley after a Bingo outing at close to midnight. Now to the wedding - I fully realize that weather is unpredictable but if you present yourself as a wedding destination you must be prepared. It rained on the wedding day. They still held the ceremony in the outside gazebo. The bride asked if her dress would be ruined walking on the wet pavement but was told, no, it is dry. Well it was not dry and teh dress was soaked. The left wet cushions out for the guests to sit on during the ceremony. We were told to stand on the soaking wet grass and mud for pictures.We were then walked back to the hotel lobby - still in the rain, to await transportation to the cocktail party. We waited almost an hour for said transportation -trolleys with open sides to be rained on. When we got to the cocktail facility, it was no more than a dark hut with no tables/chairs. It poured rain into the room, and the floors flooded.The flood moved into the reception room so we had to walk in ankle deep water to enter it.The restrooms were located outside so you had to brave the downpours and rocky pathway to use them. Their response to everything was "It's Dominican weather" Stay far away from this place - be forewarned.

  Terrible experience

  We had a very upsetting stay at this hotel. On day one we had travelled a very long way and had to wait over an hour to get into our room and it was already late. We were u aware of the booking system for restaurants and as they were all booked we were unable to get in to a restaurant for food that evening. We were dissapointed with the cleanliness of the pools and pool areas and how rude the staff were at bars and restaurants. In our 3rd day I had a very nasty experience with a bar man and two guests who were known to him. They were Spanish speaking and I am not, I was harassed at the family pool bar whilst waiting for a drink and the barman put an unknown substance from under the counter in my drink whilst laughing and shouting abuse at me as I had sat in a swim up chair that apparently did not belong to me .. I was kicked by one of the guests whilst they continued to laugh and barrate me. I refused to drink the drink and left in a terrible state to get my family. We reported to hotel manager and security with difficulty as no one really spoke English so had to use translate. I wrote a statement and was asked if they could move us to another room as we had to report the member of staff. They had us believed they had upgraded us but the room had not been inhabited for a while as the overwhelming damp smell filled the room, it had broken beds, wardrobes and sinks and the room phone did not work and we were miles away from lobby and reception so no way of getting any help. We reported this and was assured it would be resolved but at this stage have spent zero time relaxing or enjoying resort. Still unable to book any restaurants. The bed had bed bugs we were bitten alive and the food in most areas was awful. We felt so uncomfortable in our 4th day by staff that we decided not to stay and to call our travel provider. They moved us to another resort. I would never visit this hotel again. Our holiday was ruined and feel as though we need to report the safety aspects of this hotel.

  My stay at Grand Palladium

  Disappointing Experience at Grand Palladium Punta Cana – Not Worth the Stress Our stay at Grand Palladium Punta Cana was extremely disappointing and far from the relaxing vacation we had expected. From the beginning, we experienced multiple issues with our rooms. We had to change rooms three times, and even the third room had a problem with the door lock. Despite repeatedly following up with the front desk and guest services, the issue was not resolved in a timely manner. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of urgency and proper customer service. We spent almost an entire day dealing with room issues instead of enjoying our vacation. By the evening, all we wanted was to return to our room, take a shower, relax, and enjoy dinner, but we were still dealing with the same problems. For a resort that promotes itself as a premium all-inclusive vacation destination, this level of service is unacceptable. Guests pay a significant amount of money expecting comfort, hospitality, and a stress-free experience, not to spend their valuable vacation time repeatedly chasing staff to resolve basic room issues. The most disappointing part was that our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously, even after multiple complaints. We eventually felt so frustrated that we considered changing hotels rather than continuing our stay. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend Grand Palladium Punta Cana based on the service and room issues we encountered. Management seriously needs to improve its maintenance, customer service, and response to guest complaints.
