    Really great stay

Great place to stay. Very clean, great food choices, many pools, and the beach is fantastic. Great family environment. The pools and the beach have lounge chairs that fill up quickly so best to get there early in the day.

    Could be much better!

Pros: Large property with good dining options. Well staffed, always someone around to help Very nice spa and gym All restaurants and other amenities were in close walking distance. The CHIC Cabaret show was really fun! The Japanese Hibachi restaurant was delicious! The wrist bans they provided were very convenient Lobby areas were inviting and nicely decorated, with a cafe to get pastries and coffee every morning. Property was well kept Friendly front desk staff Cons: Beach front room?? Not exactly. They consider rooms that are facing the direction of the beach to be beach front. Not right by the beach. But I know they’re not the only ones who do this. Flies at buffets. The food was good but I couldn’t enjoying it fully because there were flies flying around the food and even at our table. There are several different buffets on the property, and most if not all of them were either outdoor or have the doors open during service. That’s something that I hate having to deal with while I’m eating. Constant swatting. The buffet closest to us was indoor, but they kept the doors open for some reason, so flies get in. They should probably consider closing the doors to prevent that. Easy fix. Not sure what can be done about the outdoor buffets though. Room had a stench. Not sure if it was the room itself or the ventilation bringing in air from outside. But it was very strong in the 1st room we were in. Another family member’s room had no stench at all. But I did notice it near the beach. So maybe it was seaweed or something. They accommodated us by moving us to another room where it was a little better. Showers - poorly constructed! I hate having to get into the tub in order to turn on the shower. Also, water leaks from glass onto the carpet in the room. The drain lid was also broken. Activities list was very hard to find. We could not find much information on the activities on the property. Beach is decent, but lots of seaweed by the water, and too many people selling stuff. And finally, the Travel Club sales people, OMG!!! BEWARE of the Club sales people, they are very crafty in the way they get you to sit and listen to their sales pitch. It reminds me of the timeshare people. So one of them approached us as soon as we arrived, and just greeted us and welcomed us and let us know that they’re there to help anytime. Then the next day the same guy greeted us as soon as we walked outside as if we had an appointment or something. He was very nice and gave us a ride on the cart and offered to show us around the property and take us to have breakfast and offer a gift (T-shirt or Tote bag). We actually had a different appointment to get to, and he tried to convince us that we should put off that appointment to continue with him (Red Flag #1)! We insisted that we get back to the appointment with the other person, and after dropping us off he actually waited for us to finish (Red Flag #2) and then took us back over to the club house where he handed us over to the person who would be doing the actual tour and pitch. This whole time we’re thinking this is part of the standard greeting process for the new guests. Nope! This is specifically for the travel club to get you to spend 2 hours with them and listen to a pitch to convince you to join the Palladium Travel Club. I personally feel that this approach is very premature if it’s someone’s first time staying on a Palladium property. Plus we had not even been there a full 24 hours to see or experience everything the place had to offer!! Anyway, the young lady that did the pitch and mini tour was very nice and is good at her job. We did a short tour and then she took us to “Breakfast”, which was basically the buffet where we would have gone to eat anyway. Then back to the Travel Club area we went. Like sheep headed to the slaughter house, lol. There were a couple other people that we were introduced to (managers I think) that became very pushy the longer we sat there. The first guy was actually really cool and funny, but the second guy that came over to the table, was VERY pushy and way more aggressive than the others. We had expressed our desire to leave and we let them know that we would NOT be interested at this time. But yet the pitch continued, and after another 20 mins or so we started to feel like hostages!! We ended up just getting up and walking out because it was just getting ridiculous! But at least they kept their word about the free gifts. So pay attention and read the name tag for anyone walking around in the lobby on the first day that you get there. If it says Travel Club on there, RUN!!!!!! Unless you’re actually interested in signing up, lol.

Very Disappointing and Stressful Stay - Will NOT Be Returning or Recommending

Our stay at the Grand Palladium Palace Punta Cana was extremely disappointing and stressful, especially given that this was our honeymoon. From the start, we felt disrespected by staff. We were called “Pendejos” by employees for trying to be friendly and laughed at when we asked for help in a situation where our friends dopr was broken and our belongings were inside, which was embarrassing and unprofessional. On top of that, we were pressured into a timeshare presentation that took over four hours of our day, even though we made it clear multiple times that we were not interested. What made this worse was that staff did not step in to help us disengage, which ultimately caused us to miss out on a huge portion of our day. Our room had an overwhelming, foul odor that was so bad it affected all of our belongings and made the room very uncomfortable to stay in. Checkout was another major issue. We were told we owed $102 for gift shop purchases, even though we specifically told the cashier at the time of purchase that we wanted to use our reward points from the timeshare presentation. At no point were we informed that points could not be used. In fact, during the lunch interview where they tried to sell us a membership, we were explicitly told that points could be spent at the gift shop. This lack of communication and accountability felt very unfair and in the end we had to pay the money. We were also promised honeymoon promotions, but upon arrival we were told the hotel did not have to honor them because the promises were made by our travel agent, not Palladium. As guests, we were caught in the middle and left with nothing that was promised. Finally, there was one night during our stay where we felt extremely unwell and disoriented in a way that did not feel normal to us. After making it to the airport for departure, we met two other guests at the airport who had stayed at the same hotel and described experiencing something very similar. This was deeply unsettling and added to how unsafe and unsupported we felt. Overall, this resort failed us in professionalism, communication, and basic guest care. What should have been a relaxing honeymoon turned into a stressful and upsetting experience. We will never recommend this resort to anyone, and if you are considering staying here, we strongly advise you not to. We will not be returning. On the other hand, there were some very kind people who worked there and gave us top notch service. Not everyone was unprofessiona

    Pre-Christmas vacation - December 2025

Overall, it was an excellent resort. The beach was nice although the last half of the week, the beach had a lot of seaweed. The staff had tractors and cleaned it as best they could. The service and the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. I would go back.

    Never stay at this resort

After this experience I will never go to the Dominican Republic again. Despite 3 of the 4 rooms being dirty. A sliding glass door fell and shattered on the floor. My elder mother in law was right next to it and almost crushed by the door. The hotel did not accommodate at all and we paid full price even after 4 people were forced to a room that did not have the same value as what we paid. The food was less than desirable outside of an actual restaurant. Staff was lazy to service from the rooms to the bar. I literally grabbed cleaning supplies out of a housekeeping closet to clean it myself even after a housekeeper came to “clean” the room. Bar staff was in no rush and tipping at this hotel meant absolutely nothing. Like I said, never again. This is a 1 start motel. The 5 stars were never seen. I was hoping to relax with family but instead it was a free for all fighting with staff who did not care.
