This is a fantastic location. An entrance to the metro in the lobby, it couldn't be anymore convenient than that. The staff are all very friendly and helpful The lobby is gorgeous, but the rooms are definitely dated, some broken tiles and scratches on wood etc. Really wasn't an issue for me personally. They are comfortable enough aside from needing thicker blankets. Also pretty clean, you can tell they take pride in their hotel. Breakfast buffet is decent, but overpriced honestly should be about $10 less in my opinion. I would definitely stay here again, just probably eat at a nearby cafe for breakfast instead.
very nice hotel, halls are a bit noisy and the interior needs some updates, but overall, very nice and a great location walking distance to nearly everything on the Mall. Many very nice restaurants within a couple blocks.
Highly recommend this location. Metro stop at hotel, can easily walk to things and lobby is very comfortable for waiting. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Hard Beds... sleep was HORRIBLE. Staff EXCEPTIONAL.
The staff, and overall hotel was wonderful. As such, it hurts me to give them an average review. However hotels are meant to be a place of rest. This was not the case here. I was there for a law conference. We bypassed Marriott Georgetown, and chose Grand Hyatt. After many many days of sleeping on uncomfortable bed(s) I left. I needed a good night rest, before jumping on the airplane .I am both a Hyatt member, and Bonvoy member. Both are usually comparable, but this time the bed was the overriding decision maker. I was sore EVERY MORNING at the Grand Hyatt. Before I left daily I would soak under the hottest shower I could stand. Then I would lay on the bed like a contortionist trying to massage my aching body. When I told them at the desk, they said my bed may have needed to be flipped. Well that is not the case, because several other attorneys at the conference said the same thing. They would have had to do a heck of a lot of flipping. Outside of that the Staff made you feel like Royalty. That is the main reason I didn't give them less stars.
Nice hotel, great DC location. First time at a Grand Hyatt. In my experience, Hyatt's are generally higher quality and because of this higher quality I thought that perhaps a Grand Hyatt would be even better. The quality was very good but did not exceed the quality level of many other types of Hyatts I have had the pleasure of staying in.
