Dec 12, 2025Double check your parking garage charges !
I called the hotel directly before booking and confirmed that I could get a room with a pullout sofa bed that would accommodate my spouse and I and our teen. I contacted the hotel again the day before our arrival confirming that we’d have a room with a sofabed and inform them of our late arrival. Once we arrived, we checked in a car with valet. There was only one person ahead of us to check in so there’s not a long wait, but there was no Bellman available at around 11 PM to help us with the bags and no luggage carriers available to use. We checked in smoothly or so we thought, but one of the room keys was not active, which we understand can occur. we were not happy being on the “first floor” which is one story above the ground floor, but it subject to the noisy street below. The location of the hotel is great very centrally located but get a higher floor to avoid the street noise. We get in the room and it’s late and we’re trying to set up for the night only to discover a dirty sofa bed, with sheets that had clearly been used and left there for a while. We called to get the sheets changed and as expected at that late hour it took a long time. To add insult to injury we’ve been charged twice for parking. Yvonne S at the front desk has been trying to help us with the parking but I can’t get a response from the garage. Our total parking charges were approx $629 for a three nights stay without moving the car not even once during this day. The club lounge had a nice breakfast, although it’s so Wendell left room with no views the staff there are always adequate and pleasant

Great stay at the Grand Hyatt. Even with construction going on at the hotel they really made sure it did not impact guests. The hotel was very quiet in the evening and at night - the quietest hotel I've ever stayed at in Washington D.C. It is generally a pretty loud city and I usually have trouble sleeping there. I didn't get to experience the restaurants at the hotel because they are under renovation but the shops that were open still had plenty of good snacks and food. The staff were top-notch. Check-in and check-out were a breeze and the valet staff were impeccably professional and kind. My room was very nice (double bed on the 8th floor), clean, had everything you need, everything was working properly, etc. Definitely a hotel I would stay at again!

Great access to the metro, good for families with kids
Location to the metro was great, with access from the lobby. Good security as well. The rooms were updated when we stayed late 2025. There was some construction going on in the lobby for some of the restaurants. This did not affect our stay. We traveled with kids and requested a crib, which they provided with no issues. I recommend you bring a fitted mini-crib or pack and play size sheet if you do request a crib. The clubhouse was very helpful to have access to food and snacks with our kids. Club and housekeeping staff were all extremely kind and thoughtful towards our family.

The room I received should not have been given to a loyal Globalist and returning customer. The room could not be used during the day to work or rest due to the incredibly loud construction noise. I’ve stayed here many times before but this was the worse. Stay away until construction is completed! But the team at the lounge was great as always!

Excellent property and stay
The Grand Hyatt Washington DC is an outstanding property. It's beautiful, centrally located, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very nice. I will stay here every time I visit DC.
