Striking employees are the worlds worst band
Strikes abound and they irritate beyond measure. The rooms and service are great but when it annoys you more than you can take to exit and enter the hotel it’s not worth it to stay. If only living wages were paid to employees so that they found it better to ruin their rhythm and eardrums for weeks than come to work.

Dealbreakers ruin an otherwise great room that is spacious with a great view
Just checked in yesterday to the hotel and have been less than impressed so far. Yes, there's a strike going on out front and we feel bad for guests and staff that are severely impacted by that. The bellmen are on strike, but we were able to roll our five suitcases to our room without assistance and there were plenty of luggage carts available if we needed them. The staff that are striking are loud during the day/evening, but they are polite and are non-aggressively offering a flyer with info about the issues they need addressed. All that said, our issues aren't related to the strike at all... We are in an "Executive Suite City View" room for a 14-night stay, including 10 days for recovery from a surgery. The view is great and the room is spacious, but one thing we specifically picked this room for was the mini-fridge listed in the room description. Unfortunately, the mini-fridge is actually a Dometic RH423LDBI Mini-Bar which, per information on the Dometic web site, has an ambient operating temperature range of +16 °C to +32 °C (+60.8 °F to +89.6°F) and an internal temperature range of +3 °C to +12 °C (+37.4 °F to +53.6 °F). A spec sheet for the current, equivalent Dometic mini-bar lists "Yes" on the "Cellar" compartment line of its Product Information Sheet and "No" on the "Fresh food" and "Chilling" lines. These appear to be standardized definitions coming from EU regulations where Dometic is based. Given that the unit in our room is in an enclosed cabinet, it seems likely that the operating temperature is above the manufacturer's specified range, making issues worse. As for the actual performance, Soylent meal replacement drinks left overnight in the "mini-fridge" were nowhere close to 40 degrees and too warm to taste good. This isn't surprising given the specs from the manufacturer and is VERY concerning since the FDA states 40 degrees is the maximum temperature a fridge should be to keep food safe and the mini-bar is represented as a mini-fridge on the website. Even if the "mini-fridge" cooled properly, anything deeper than a takeout container of rice from a Chinese restaurant wouldn't fit. When we asked the staff about the "fridge" not cooling (before investigating the model details above), they offered to investigate why the fridge isn't cold and also offered to provide a second "mini-fridge". When asked about any larger "mini-fridges", they said they don't have any and one front-desk staff member without a visible name tag tried to gas-light us and said, "all the mini-fridges in hotels in the city are like that". This is despite the VIP Suite in this hotel and other hotels in the city having a larger mini-fridges per our experience. This might seem like a small issue, but when you're on a very restricted post-surgery liquid diet, providing your own "food" is pretty much a necessity. We will now have to buy our mini-fridge or large cooler on short-notice to meet our needs since the room description was not accurate. It is very stressful to have this added to our already lengthy list of things to do the day before a major surgery. In addition to the lack of mini-fridge, the air conditioning in our room is very lacking. When set to 65 on both the bedroom and living area units, it was 70 or above in the room all night. Maintenance came and adjusted the temperature to set the thermostat to 60 degrees. This is 5 degrees cooler than the lowest temperature guests can set it to. While it's a couple degrees cooler, the lower thermostat set-point didn't really fix much; at best, it's a couple degrees cooler. It's clear the HVAC either can't keep up with the current heat wave or is not working properly since 65 degrees would actually be much too cold for us if the room were that temperature. We will see what happens tomorrow when the heat wave breaks...

Grand Hyatt Fumbles the Experience
An ongoing labor strike outside of the hotel affected our entire five-night stay. From 6am - 10pm they picketed outside of the hotel making more noise than you'd think possible. The staff were clearly very tired by the strike as well, but despite their best efforts to present a good face, were clearly worn down by the strike. The staff had a difficult time running the hotel (even with reduced service offerings). Our room was poorly stocked, and replacement supplies (like soap and towels) were difficult to come by. The strike was clearly audible outside our window, and we were offered few options to escape the constant noise.

Bad customer services
The Hyatt has a bad customer services. Their employees are on strike and Hyatt failed to let me know when I checked in that the room they gave me will be very noisy until 10:00 pm. They waited for me to call them. They changed me the room but nothing will change the bad moments that I had it. It is very unfortunate the bad customer services of this hotel. If you are planning to go to San Francisco, I suggest to going for another option until the Hyatt solve their issue with their employees. Otherwise, you will pass a bad moment there.

A great hotel to stay when visiting San Francisco
This hotel is located right in the center of San Francisco. A lot of good restaurants can be found nearby. It is well decorated. The city views on the top floors are great! The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and ready to assist you. Although me and my family only spent 2 nights, we enjoyed very much our stay.
