Bungalow vs Platinum: Solo Female Traveler Perspective
Visited twice: 7 days Feb-March 2025 & 8 days Feb-March 2026. Solo Female traveler. 2025 visit: regular bungalow room 2026 visit: Platinum (honeymoon suite - it was the cheapest!) IMO, Platinum was 100% worth it for what I was looking for. The platinum buffet wasn't as crowded for meals, and as a result the service was much better (Enrique was ALWAYS attentive and oh so sweet!). In-room amenities/touches were nicer. Premium/padded beach loungers, more shade availability, and amazing beach bar service (shorter lines) on top of beachside drink delivery! Mateo & Ramon at the platinum beach bar were PHENOMENAL and personable. Beach was fairly clean of any debris/seaweed (particularly if you walked along the beach to compare to other resorts!). For the atmosphere I was looking for (less kids, more relaxed/reading on the beach), the Platinum experience was everything I wanted. Price point was decent as well (granted, I shopped around on Google to check for a good price and shifted my dates accordingly). I had no issues with bugs while at the resort (mosquitos, bugs in room, etc). While there are events with loud music almost nightly, I didn't hear anything in my room. I suspect the rooms closer to the beach have more noise. My room was cleaned well daily, turn-down service was excellent and the fridge was always stocked with plenty of water!

Hope in PC is renewed.
Amazing! Our visit was wonderful! We were platinum. There is Corona for Platinum at the PBG pool, PBG upstairs after 4:00, and the Platinum Bar by check in. The staff were all amazing. There is shopping at the resort, but there are also shops across the street outside the resort and a mini mall to the left once you leave the resort. I heard there is transportation to a shopping area, but we did not need to do that as there were enough options within walking distance. The dance club in the casino does not start happening until after 2:00am and is expensive. Stay for the resort parties they put on plenty of entertainment to keep you hopping if you can stay up that late after a day of sun and drinking. The nature trail is nice, take bread with you. Everything in there expected to be fed as we walked by. The tram saves a lot of walking when going from one end to the other, but they only run in one direction, so figure out your stops. We had a group of 15 and everyone had a great time, liked the food, and said they would return. Thank you for a fabulous vacation. This was my second visit to Punta Cana. After the first one at Barcelo Bavaro I thought I would never return. This resort changed my mind about this destination.

Grand Bavaro Princess review
I am somewhat biased in my review as I have almost always gone to ClubMed resorts. However, I wwill be able to judge this resort based on the best ones out there. Resort: Just superb! I have to say that this was a surprise for me. My room was beautiful (bungalow), clean and with modern amenities. The layout of the grounds is beautiful and well maintained. I think that this surpasses the Clubmed I have been to (Punta Cana, Miches, Cancun etc.). The beach: again, just superb, with very nice sand, cleaned every day and with very few algae. If fact almost none. The beach is wide, long and plenty of place for everyone. You can walk miles on this one. Water was hot, and turquoise. Very nice. The service: No complaints, very helpful when needed. The food: this is where a comparison with Clubmed hurts. The food was just ok. Don’t get me wrong, you will never get hungry, and you will always find something to your liking. It is just that the refinement is not there. I tried all the 'a la carte' restaurants, and I do not think they are worth it. None of them provided me with a nice meal I enjoyed. This is where they absolutely need to get better. Stick with the buffet, and if you are lucky, you will find something to your liking. In all, I still believe this is one of the best price/quality ratios you will find in the Dominican Republic. I will most certaintly return.
