  Engaged in Cancun

  We recently traveled to Cancun and stayed at the GR Solaris. Alan - Butler - and the members team treated us like royalty. We got engaged there and Alan helped my boyfriend make it a surprise and very special. Any need we had, he attended to. This was a very memorable trip and made more special by Alan and all of the staff at the GR Solaris.

  Amazing time & staff at GR Solaris!

  We visited GR Solaris last week (12/15 thru 12/20) for my husband's 50th birthday & a much-needed vacation. It was our first time in Cancun & we are so happy our first experience was at GR Solaris! The hotel is beautiful & clean, both inside & outside by the pool area. The hotel staff was always very helpful & accommodating, especially Alan & Pedro, who work in Member Services. Pedro is a wonderful concierge, who gave us many great recommendations & was easy to contact if we had any questions during our stay. Alan was very polite & gracious & was able to arrange a birthday surprise for my husband the night of his birthday. So grateful for that memory! We also enjoyed the various places to eat at the hotel, such as Café Solaris for breakfast & lunch. They serve so many different foods at the buffet that we were always able to find something delicious to eat. The staff at the café is also very pleasant & accommodating, especially Angel, one of our waiters, & the woman making the omelet omelettes. I think her name is Ovilia. Excellent staff! We were even treated to a special happy birthday song when they heard it was my husband's birthday, which was also a very nice surprise! There was also a choice of 2 or 3 different restaurants to choose from for dinner, depending on the night. We had delicious dinners at both Marco Polo & Zai. We will definitely be returning to GR Solaris & recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing vacation in Cancun!

  4th Time Not A Charm

  This is the 4th time in past 10 years have gone to GR Solaris. Last time was in 2021. For previous visits would rate this a 4 or 5 star, but recent visit in December 2025 was poor and will not be returning. This resort has gone downhill and is showing age and decline. The food offered is very limited selection and not very tasteful. Highly suggest if you can avoid the buffet and go to the specialty restaurants their food much better. Deli food limited selection and again not much taste. Breakfast buffet was closed on Saturday morning and if you wanted breakfast had to wait an hour for it to be set up in another location. The rooms are showing age, the hallways echo with anyone walking or talking at all hours of the night. Doors slamming in early morning and late night. They start cleaning rooms at 8 am, so if a room is being cleaned near your room, you will hear the noise. Walls between rooms are thin. We had a family with a baby next to our room and the baby cried all night, every night. The towels provided in rooms appeared old and scratchy. Bed pillows hard and small. The patio door in our room had a rusted lock that did not work. The wi-fi is spotty and not secure. The nightly entertainment is not what it used to be, shows are basically dancing and all shows look the same and are only 30 minutes. The entertainment in past years was a whole lot better. We needed a phone number for Amstar transport and the front desk could not provide. For positives I would say the pool drink servers are great, the maid service was good, the special restaurants are good. In closing we have always chosen this resort because it was friendly with great staff, great shows, good food, nicely decorated, but all has changed and that makes us sad because this experience was not like any of these things. The ocean is beautiful and there are many more resorts in this area to consider.

  Friendly staff and great atmosphere!

  This is such a family friendly resort. We love the workers and atmosphere! Our housekeeping always kept our room clean and gave special touches. The buffet is delicious, especially breakfast! The pools have plenty of room for swimming and the entertainment staff make things fun! We love the daily pizza and snack bar. And our cups were never empty. Also, highly recommend visiting the spa for hot tub and massages! Perla and Giselle were amazing!

  An amazing experience! Very relaxing

  The atmoosphere and the ambiance amazing! 10 out of 10. Highly recommended for couples. The massage was nice and professional.
