Not coming back
My wife and I booked a room at Golden nugget to come and enjoy the Fremont experience side of Vegas. Our reservation stated a house choice room with a king bed. Upon arriving, we were informed we could get a room with two double beds but they had no KING bedrooms available unless we wanted to pay an $18 a day up charge then magically they would have one. On top of that they have a resort fee that is charged per day just for staying there in addition to your room price and that fee is over $50 per day additional as well. So with the up charge for getting the king bed, we had already paid for as well as the resort fee. We were paying another 70+ dollars per day to stay in our room. We get to the room and it’s dated, the tub had been refinished and the refinished part was chipping off in some places, there is no coffee pot available in the room. You have to go downstairs to Starbucks or one of the restaurants to get coffee. For the Cash charged to stay there. I expected more. Many of the prime seating areas around the pool involve renting a lounger to enjoy that the pool and hot tub has limited hours so don’t expect to enjoy a hot tub dip before going to bed. Location to Fremont was excellent and we enjoyed the Fremont experience side of Vegas. That was a positive, but everywhere you turn you just feel like you’re being nickel and dimmed to death

Stay at Gollfrn Nugget
Nice hotel, clean and quiet even though it’s right on Fremont Street. Only concern is make sure you get what you want i.e. no coffee maker, refrigerator at hair dryer in the Carson Tower rooms.

Horrible Housekeeping Service
Was told by housekeeping that the room would be serviced after 5pm. At 9pm, the room was still not serviced. Not very good service for a 2 room suite. After years of staying here, I might have to look for a hotel on my next visit that can make a room by 5pm Housekeeping is dreadful. Be prepared to make your bed, resupply the room and take out the trash.

Lots of fun at this casino
Stopped in to check out the blackjack tables. Friendly staff, frequent beverage service. Fun energetic environment.

not what it used to be
rooms in rush tower are noisy and not worth the extra money. games been modified to pay less. check in was confusing, tech not working and not enough people to help. casino was busy every night. restaurants were good but expensive compared to last time i was there. it's a good choice for downtown but nothing to brag about
