Don’t believe their photos!
Do NOT stay here!!! It’s advertised as a Boutique Historic Hotel but it’s a dump. I can’t explain the horror we saw. Batteries and pills on the counter, doors off the hinges, filthy doesn’t even cover what the counters and floors looked like broken fixtures, missing lightbulbs, outlets not working, disgusting bathtub, and a smell like someone died in that room. Noisy area, homeless people coming into the lobby, NO amenities, we thought a nice getaway before an early flight would be convenient. No restaurants nearby so we had “romantic” McDonalds” for dinner and 7-11 for breakfast (coffee and PBJ sandwiches). They do NOT offer any food or beverages as shown in their photos. We slept in our clothes and shoes after checking for bugs and had to wash our clothes twice to get the smell out. I threw several items away as the smell would not come out. When my husband brought the concerns to the (stoned) front desk guy he suggested we check out and go elsewhere. At 9pm! They should either rename the place “Hotel of Horror” or “Bates Motel Part 2”. There was no coffee maker or hair dryer in the room, NO ocean view, no ambient lighting as the bulbs were all missing and the fixtures cracked. No outdoor patio with food and wine or fruit trays, and no soaps or shampoos so THEIR pictures have clearly been photo edited or staged. The best thing this Wyndham owned property could do was hire a demolition crew and make better use of this nasty hotel.
Paid for a room they never gave me.
It’s a scam. They rented me a room, never supplied the email with late check-in instructions. Don’t answer to any messages left at a number in the door. The voicemail tries to fool you into thinking they will call back, but at midnight. I’m sure you weren’t “on the phone with another guest”. Absolutely horrible customer service. I couldn’t get access to my room, wound up booking ANOTHER hotel, and can’t get a refund. Worst experience ever.
Not good for staycations
The stay didn't happen because my husband and I are San Diego residents. We wanted to do a staycation but they ultimately cancelled our stay before we even got to check-in because they have a new system in order to combat homelessness which I don't get. We just wanted a weekend in Little Italy. When we got there, there were some major red flags. There were garbage bags and storage boxes all over the lobby. It was dark and kind of had a damp moldy smell to it. We had stayed here in past years and it was pleasant and I even reccomened it to friends and family but now I would probably never go there again. It's really sad but I wish it would have worked out. Not worth the time or effort. I think we dodged a bullet.
It has to be said that it is not a hotel it is a hostel. My partner and I had a room without a shared bathroom but most of the rooms share a bathroom and you can see a lot of people on the hallway. Our experience was very bad and the only thing that stands out about the hotel is the location, 2 streets away from little italy. The room was dirty, the bathroom was in very bad condition and the walls and floor totally deteriorated, not as it appears in the pictures. The bed was awful, no confortable at all. There is no one at the front desk, so for later or early check in and check out you have to call a phone number that you can found in the entrance door, this meant that the 3 nights we stayed we heard the front door banging constantly, which is quite annoying as you could not sleep (our room was the third room in the hallway). It is a hotel that honestly should sell for 50$ per night at the most and not 100$ average as we pay for. We never asked for a refund, because we were on our honeymoon and we really want to see the positive on this, but to be honest, this was the worst hotel we been in our lives. We trust in the photos and the “services” they offered, and everything it’s a lie. My advice: take the time and do a deep research when you wanna go on holidays, investigate a property in more than 3 websites and maybe in that way you can find the truth before traveling.
First off, no one was working the front desk so we could not check in for almost 5 hours!! While we waited for someone to show up one last came and left to find someplace else to stay. No coffee! No breakfast like it says! Horribly filthy. The garbage in the hallways were over flowing the walls were splattered and so gross. The floors were filthy. We get checked in FINALLY and the garbage in our bathroom was full of someone else's female products!! The blinds were covered in dirt, the kitchen was dirty, the bathtub has hair in it!!! It was horrifying! Ow..and after 5pm the front desk is also closed! We checked out at 6amn ciuld no5 get out of there fast enough....no one at the front desk. Their pictures online are no where near an accurate description. There was a bullet on the floor in the hallway. What a scam!!!! Complete rip off! Thanks God we can do hard things ans it was only 1 night!!!
