Great Place
We had a great week at Fiesta Americana! This resort is in a great location, with excellent views of the ocean. We found the hotels layout to be great as it puts guest rooms out of the way of all the amenities. There is always something to do or see, and you can escape to peace and quiet at any time. The staff was amazing. We travelled with our daughters, ages 6 and 9, and they loved the experience. It is not a kid resort, meaning there aren't many kids there overall, but the kids that do come get personalized experience that is, in my opinion, far better than sensory overload method used by "family" resorts. I want to specifically mention Sophia and Maria who not only made my kids feel at home, but also made me feel confident they were in GREAT hands. They had several activities on the ready, and were always attentive when we were in the pool area. Staff in general are eager to please. 5 stars for service. Standouts among the already amazing staff include Francisco, Hector, Enrique and Eduardo. You guys are truly stars to outshine the amazing group of people you work with. Keep it up guys! I gave 4 of 5 stars because the beach club is closed. This is a pretty big deal. This is their crown jewel and it is becoming an eyesore on the shoreline. I didn't ask, as it is pretty obvious, like most everywhere, that staffing is the problem. The resort has areas needing repair, areas under repair, and areas that were clearly recently renovated. This is simply a fact of life in the labor starved economy we are experiencing. We will likely get used to things like this being more apparent. This is a nice resort and they are dealing with their adversity as well as can be expected. 100% recommend.

Lack of organization
The hotel has several good points, but also has areas of opportunity. The service is great, the people try hard to provide the best possible service despite their lack of staff. I do not understand the reason why the beach club is closed and that they do not mention it to you when you book has deceitful advertising. In turn, they should update the hours because they show certain restaurant hours and do not notify you that they will be closed like the buffet. We were interested in knowing the show nights, but the dates that are presented to you on the television screen at the reception have incorrect dates. I understand that there should be a person in charge of looking at these details, for which I mention again there is a big lack of interest in the organization of your operation. When we asked the staff for information, if we spoke with a manager and then with another, they do not handle the same information. I requested a babysitting service for a week every night and the last night of my stay they canceled it for no reason. They should have informed me in advance because I had plans with my husband that I could not carry out due to this. The babysitting service is required to be scheduled in advance, and it is a personalized service because it is carried out inside the room and you paid the lady when she finishing the service, without the need to go to the front desk. The food is good, only the waiting time should be improved because it used to take a long time to wait for each dish. However, the waiters have a great personality and they treat you very well. I want to congratulate the staff for the great job they do, despite the obvious lack of organization on the part of the hotel managers.

3-Star Hotel at Best
There are a lot of positive things about this hotel: The service was amazing. The staff were very friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible. The food was decent. The best thing I ate was a tomahawk steak (extra charge). They had a free laundry room which was extremely beneficial. They had nightly entertainment which was very enjoyable. Now some of the not-so-pleasantries: • It is not oceanfront. The view of the ocean is obstructed. The ocean is across the street, and I wouldn’t consider what they have as a beach. There’s entry into the water via stairs & rocks. • There were issues with the temperature of the food and drinks. A lot of my food came cold or room temperature, and my drinks came warm or hot. Ice was scarce. We made reservations for both the Asian and Italian restaurant, but the Mexican was never available which was disappointing. The one night we got a reservation, we were notified by our concierge that it wouldn’t be opening that day. I don’t think it opened any night we were there. • The hotel is visibly older. The sheets and pillowcases were visibly stained. There was rust on all sinks, and metal objects. Visible re-caulked spots. Missing tiles in the pools. The building didn’t look very well kept and needed a pressure wash for sure. The AC in the room leaked water. Created a huge puddle that we almost slipped on, so we didn’t keep it on for long or at all. It blew directly onto the bed also which was uncomfortable. • There was a rainfall shower which some people may enjoy but is not reasonable for everyone. There was not a secondary option, so it made showering uncomfortable for me, and the water pressure was extremely light. Also, the toilet paper was scented which I was not happy about as a woman with sensitive parts. • The bar didn’t open until 11am and closed at 10:30 pm which is something I’ve never experienced at an all-inclusive resort. It ran out of almost all alcohol we were interested in drinking. Don Julio was gone after the first day. Bacardi was gone. Tito’s was gone…it reduced our options of drinks the longer we stayed. • When we arrived, we were signed up for a timeshare presentation. I didn’t expect that. I didn’t get my room at a discount, so I did not feel obligated to participate for another free night that I would not use. I personally would not stay there again and I wouldn’t consider it a 4-star hotel. 3 at best.

Needs improvement
We’ve stayed at other FA resorts and this one was a disappointment. The property lacks maintenance, the common areas and rooms look outdated and worn out. The beach front is not operating - the bar, facilities and cabanas are closed. Food was good; although, confusing when the buffet and restaurants are open. They seem to be randomly closed and no information posted which ones will be closed on which night. Service is inconsistent. Some servers and nice, some are rude and basically ignore you. Won’t be back to this resort.
