Comfortable stay with great service
Our room suite was comfortable with a great view from 6th floor. Food was good. Missed having the nightly buffet as an option but Asian was our favorite at night. Couldn’t go wrong in the afternoon for eating options. Fish tacos were fantastic. The staff was great! We were greeted most days by Alejandra who was pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed her since of humor throughout the day when passing. Selene was very accommodating for our morning breakfast. Miguel was fantastic and attentive around the pool area. Angel provided great service all the places he worked for the day. The pool entertainment staff worked hard for guests to engage but didn’t bother you if not interested. We had so much fun playing volleyball in the pool on an unexpected rainy day. Our only complaint was the main pool turned very cloudy and un inviting the last 3 day at the end of our 10 night stay. We then choose the lap pool down by the ocean which worked fine but did have the best service due to not even staff to take care of such a wide area. This is a small resort which we would come to again. Nice experience over all.

Scuba diving spring break trip
We traveled with our two college kids during the second week of March for a diving trip. My review is long, so the summary is... we had a great time! Staff is lovely, hotel is smaller than I had thought, food is fine. You can book with confidence :) There is construction happening on 2nd floor for future restaurant. Be aware. We weren't affected by it. We booked a private shuttle on our way out from the airport with CozuShuttle (look for small desks on the left after going through the timeshare hallway)... no need to book ahead of time. Shared shuttles also available for around $17 per person, but we had a lot of luggage and wanted to get to our resort quickly. We paid with credit card. Our concierge, Cristell, contacted us via email a few days before we arrived and we were able to message via WhatsApp when we arrived. While we could have met her for a meal to talk about vacation membership opportunities, our dive schedule didn't allow for that and she was gracious. We never felt pressured! It was nice to be able to ask her some last minute questions, because emails to the hotel itself were never answered. ROOMS: We had a Master Suite with 1 King for mom and dad and a Deluxe Ocean View 2 Double for our two kids. We were able to have rooms on the same floor (5), and just a few turns in the outer hallway away from each other. Our Suite had two bathrooms, which was so helpful when we all needed to shower. One kid would come down to our room ;) We were very comfortable, but the rooms are not "fancy". Bathrooms are a little small and awkward. They had a number of bottles of water for us in the room as well as other drinks in the fridge. Nice for brushing teeth and refilling our water bottles. They bring new bottles when refreshing the rooms. FOOD: The hotel has two restaurants in the hotel building (Mexican and Italian), a coffee shop, bar in the "lobby" by the pool, grill at the "beach", seafood/bar at "beach", and buffet restaurant at the beach. Buffet has reasonable breakfast and lunch offerings, and then becomes the Asian restaurant The Peninsula for the evenings. While we did make some reservations for dinners, it didn't seem to be necessary for us. My favorites were Mexican and The Peninsula! The coffee shop had sandwiches and treats and also two covered plates with cookies and muffins for you to grab. DIVING: We met Isabel from Dive House at the FA pier to do our paperwork. No dive gear storage on site, but they can wash and store your gear at their location at Secrets. We kept our masks with us. They picked us up at the hotel pier around 7:45am for morning dives and 12:45 for afternoon dives. It was a nice 15-20 min boat ride to Secrets pier where we picked up other divers and our gear. I would recommend their dive shop, but also know there were other shops that picked up at FA. BEACH/POOL: We spent more time at the beach bc it's nice to hear the waves :) There are lounge chairs, umbrellas, lounge beds with curtains for shade, a wooden deck with chairs, beds and ladders to get into the water for snorkeling. An area in the middle with steps into water as well. Snorkeling is fun, especially around the dock where lots of life hang out... look for lionfish under pier, eels, angelfish, small rays around small coral mounds. There are showers near the grill, behind a wooden wall... we didn't notice them until the end of our trip, haha! Pool was nice. Swim up bar was fine. More music and activities/games near the pool. We did have some attendants come to ask for drink orders but usually went to the buffet bar or pool bar for our own drinks. Clean towels are in brown bin by the pool hut. Bins for dirty towels are down at beach and by pool. ACTIVITIES: A chalkboard near the lobby and stairs to the coffee shop told time and entertainment for that night in lobby area. Dancers, karaoke, etc. Very fun. Also brought in 3-4 souvenir vendors twice during our stay. We bought some nice silver jewelry from one of them. Card or cash. TAXIS: Always available! Go to the friendly bellmen to ask for taxi, and they'll be able to tell you the fixed price for town, airport etc. Good to have pesos for the taxi rides! (200 for town/cruise ship pier, 400 for aiport, etc). For checkout, make sure to allow a few minutes to head to reception to cut off bracelets and get a slip of paper to give to bellman/security when leaving. SUGGESTIONS: -Bring small bills if you like to tip for drinks and hotel room cleaning. -Head to ATM to get pesos for shopping in town, taxi rides, tips etc. -Eat lunch at Mercado Municipal (taxi: 250 pesos) and look for the bright yellow signs at Loncheria Chelly No.3 in shared covered eating space... we had amazing conchinita pibil tacos there! -Go to Mega grocery store for souvenirs and tshirts before going to some of the shops on the main street. -Bring water bottles to refill with filtered water from bar or buffet. Bring insulated cups for bar drinks or iced coffee. They do serve in reusable plastic cups but it's nice to have the insulated to keep them cooler. -Bring reusable straws if you like to have that for drinks (I'm looking at you, mojitos!). -I saw some people had small floaties for the pool, clips or bands to keep towels on lounge chairs, etc. -You can bring snorkel gear or rent at the pool hut We loved Alejandra at the buffet checkin desk... so friendly and really cares about your family! Jose at the buffet, Eduarado at the bellman desk, waiters in restaurants: Salvador, Jhony, and Oswaldo... they just made us smile, and especially encouraged our daughter who is minoring in Spanish. We'll most likely return to Fiesta Americana soon to dive with our other kid!

Great time at a quieter resort
We came on spring as a group of friends. It is a quieter atmosphere here as it is a smaller resort but that was a great thing! We could find a lounger or a cabana at almost anytime of day. The good was excellent and the servers at the restaurants are fantastic. As there are renovations going on here, there was no dinner buffet which was too bad, but not a big deal as the food was delicious at every dinner option. (Particularly the Mexican restaurant.) The entertainment is more chill compared to other places I've been but this was excellent if you didn't want to partake. However, when we did join in, Yasmine and Edgar from the entertainment team we're fantastic and very upbeat and engaging.

Family fun
Back for the fifth time. The rooms are huge and clean. Employees are super nice and helpful. Great snorkeling, we saw rays and turtles along with all the regular tropical fish. I enjoy the food and drinks a bit too much at times. Surprisingly good entertainment at night. Shout out to the circus! We will be back next year.
