  Overall a good trip (surprisingly good beach)

  We are a group of 19 people. We visited this resort from December 20 to December 26. The check-in experience was subpar, even after confirming ahead of time that we will be arriving late. None of our five rooms were kept ready. On top of it the air conditioning unit broke down and we kinda lost one day having people just come over try to fix it and towards the end of the day they gave up and asked us to move to another room. The front desk manager Norma was borderline rude even getting 30 minutes of late checkout became a big deal for her. Maoli at front desk was gracious and tried to help her best but I think they need a better manager. Now on the flipside, we were served by a wonderful captain named Eladio, who took care of our entire party by cooking whatever food that we liked on every day. All the servers were absolutely wonderful. For vegetarian people this place can be a bit of a struggle, but with over the top service that Eladio and his team provided, this resort really became a lot more fun for us. And we were surprised to have a pristine white sand beach with shallow depth so the whole family can enjoy the waves no Kelp at least when we visited.

  Amazing experience with family and friends

  I would simply say - Eladio made our trip - dream vacation!! He made sure as a family with 10+ kids have the best vacation with taking care of all our food needs!!

  Negative restaurant changes

  I haven't done a review in years. I'm now reviewing this resort that I've been to about 4 times over 2 years and why I won't come back. Last time I visited was in May 2025. First 3 positive changes in the last 6 months: filtered water dispensers installed throughout property, more gym equipment added, and yoga classes added. The negatives are all about the restaurants which greatly lower the value of the price you pay. The resort no longer uses dinner reservations that were so convenient through their app. Now guests have 1 hour waits at every place. The only exception is the "Brazilian" restaurant that replaced the very good "Thai" restaurant. This place takes in person reservations from 2-4pm for the same day. I showed up at 1:50 pm and more than 20 people were already lined up. 30 minutes later I got a 9pm reservation. I showed up at 8:45pm and was told to leave and come back exactly at 9 even though the place was empty. They also made the steak place Te Almo not part of the all-inclusive, so this place is also mostly empty at dinner. It was never that special to begin with and now they're charging extra for it. They also added the pizza hut outside to the dinner offerings. So now they're are 2 Italian options. Overall these changes to the dining offering makes guests waste a lot of time from their pre-paid vacations and gives them less for their money. This resort has been a good mid-range option but now would only be worth it for a rate of no more than $300/night.

  AMAZING VACATION

  AMAZING VACATION! Everything was A+! We traveled with 3 adult children ages 18-21, and the 3BR/3Bath ocean view suite was spectacular. Absolutely exceeded expectations. Tons of space and we all loved the daily replenishing of the mini bar! Food was excellent, lots of restaurant choices for lunch and dinner. Service was amazing, the staff was so friendly, nice and helpful. Pool/hotel bathrooms were kept so clean. Beach was absolutely gorgeous, so clean, raked daily by 7AM. Our suite came with concierge service and that was also amazing bc Christian made our restaurant reservations and we could text him if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this resort!!!

  Even if it were free, I would not return

  The food is not good, request from staff have to be asked multiple times, and they don't have enough restaurants to accommodate the guests. You could lose an hour a half of your vacation waiting in line for a dinner reservation only to be turned away once you get to the front of the line saying they're full and then they won't even put you in for the next night. You have to do it all over again if you want to eat there.
