DON’T STAY HERE!
I made our reservations mid-January, based on their website language “completely renovated, including the rooms . . .” This is false advertising; this language has since been changed. The website photos are deceiving. The bathroom in our Ocean View Two Queen Bed room was new, maybe the TV was replaced, but the remainder was not upgraded, not even painted. Every time I entered/exited the bed, it would creak so loud on each side, it woke up others. The dresser countertop had items permanently attached, which limits usable space. There’s two feet of unusable space at the end of the closet. The safe is on the top shelf of the closet; you need a chair to access it. You need a tutorial to use the TV remote. For a room that sleeps four, there was only one chair in the room—an oversized plastic slingback with no back support. For a 300 square-foot room, there’s a lot of wasted space. Move the mirror next to the entrance door, and add a table and two usable chairs where the mirror is. I asked for and received another chair, and received the same type chair. For as nice as the lobby is decorated, you’d think management would do the same in the rooms. There are two hooks in the bathroom for towels; where do guests hang swimsuits? The soap, shampoo, and conditioner are attached to the wall 5 1/2 feet high; a short person cannot reach them. Why are there hooks next to the dresser with items hanging from them that are glued to the backboard? We always took our shoes off at the door; I wore the same pair of socks while in the room—they were black when we checked out. The two pool areas are beautiful, but there’s not enough chairs—wasted space around the pools. 71 chairs total at both pools for 245 guest rooms? Every morning there were towels placed on every lounge chair; when I asked about this at the front desk, they said the staff places towels on each chair for convenience; this needs to stop. Guests don’t see it that way; they said it looked like guests ‘reserve’ their chair early because of the shortage of lounge chairs. The earplugs are not to ‘silence the squawk’ in an ocean view room—they’re to block out the noise from the old below-the-window air conditioner. There are two outdoor elevators; according to other reviews, one has been broken for a few months. If the other one breaks, housekeeping cannot clean the rooms, as I saw several employees with carts on the first floor waiting for an elevator to take them to their floor. Housekeeping and guests deserve better. Now I know why they charge an up-front, non-refundable fee—so you can’t change your mind after one night in this sub-par place.

UNBELIEVABLE
Just wondering why you are charging different rates depending purely on someone's nationality! isn't that a bit discriminative? i was just looking at costs and an unusual thing happened when I changed currency from $ to £ the price went up! now that cant be possible as $300 is around £220! but these prices went to £300?? imagine my surprise when I changed the language from US English to UK English(no such thing by the way, its just English!) and this also caused another price increase! surely what form of the same language I speak, should have NO bearing on what price i should pay for a room!

Good base to explore Key West
Room was really clean and comfy. They provide you with ear plugs for the cockerels but they didn’t bother us at all. Can tell it’s been recently renovated. Enjoyed having a Starbucks on the premises. Plenty of parking available, although there is a charge of $15 a night. There’s a free shuttle to get downtown but we didn’t use it. The conch train also stops outside. Used the gym a few times. Really minimal equipment but got a workout. Need to stop kids messing about in there though. Knocked review score down to 4 because the food at the Toasted Coconut was overpriced and awful quality. The avocado toast was just watery egg mayo on a small bit of bread with pickled cauliflower, carrot and celery. Eat elsewhere.

Excellent as always
We have stayed here several times and really enjoy it. Pool area is always great fun, for all. We love the new backyard with all of the games. We do wish the Coconut Bar would stay open past 4:00. It seems crazy to close it when the pool is really busy. What I witnessed is most people would leave the area altogether, rather than switch to the other pool, probably taking their business to town rather than here, poolside. That’s what we did all 7 days here. All 3, Jason, Tammy, and Davit, were great! We had a really great time.

Great resort/motorcycle friendly
Our group of 8 had a wonderful trip to the Blue Flamingo resort! We drove our motorcycles from Daytona Beach, the motorcycle parking was right out front with plenty of spaces for our bikes. The resort staff were very friendly and helpful! The grounds, bike rentals, pool, on site bars and restaurant/food trucks were clean with lots of options and fair prices. Our room had everything we needed. The bonus was a free shuttle to downtown that ran until 10:30 pm! I wish I had taken more photos, but the photos from their website are accurate. We will definitely stay at this resort again!
