    Still closed

Nowhere does it say that the Blind Pig restaurant and the Rum Row bar and one of the pools are still shut for renovation or we wouldn't have booked. Nor were we made aware of the very high $100+ per night add on for local taxes etc. Rooms a good size and cleanliness OK but signs of aging.

    Wonderful relaxing time

Very clean and helpful staff. Somz was a great front desk concierge. Alittle construction by the pool but they made up for it with music and wonderful drinks. We would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. We will also return ourselves.

    Great staff

The staff was super helpful, thank you Soma from the front desk, great work. The room was clean and the bedding was comfortable. There is a coffee, Keurig machine and fridge but no microwave. No smart tv, television is by dish network. The room theme was at the sea design.

Middle of road with rude housekeeping.

Hotel was a 3-star hotel in my book. No reception and have to check in next door which can be busy. Pool area is nice. Housekeeping lady that covered my room was very work shy, missed my room twice in 5 nights and was rude when I asked for clean towels when I returned to the hotel. Beware, garden view is not a garden view.

    Save Your Money!

I recently stayed at The Gates and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Firstly, I was disappointed to find that the pool's heating system was turned off during our visit, seemingly to deter guests from using it. This felt like a lack of consideration for those looking to enjoy the amenities. Additionally, the housekeeping carts were a major inconvenience. They blocked the walkway to our room and remained in the same spot all day. We left the hotel at 9 AM and returned at 8 PM, only to find the cart still occupying the same space. This is unacceptable, especially in a place that claims to prioritize guest comfort. To make matters worse, during our stay, there were fire drills conducted with the local fire station. While I was undressed in our room, someone began banging on our door, shouting that he was security. His aggressive demeanor and complete lack of respect for our privacy were shocking. It felt like a violation, and I believe this behavior was entirely inappropriate. I urge the owner to investigate this incident and the staff’s conduct, as it was entirely unacceptable. Furthermore, the elevators were a nightmare. You can expect to wait at least 5 minutes for one to arrive, which is incredibly frustrating, especially when you're trying to get in and out of the hotel. Additionally, the elevator broke towards the end of our stay, and the security personnel was extremely rude. I urge the owner to look into this matter, as it contributed to an overall negative experience. Lastly, I want to highlight the numerous hidden fees at this hotel. They charge $15 a day for parking, along with resort fees, hotel fees, and room charges, which all add up to an outrageous amount considering how much we spent for the room. To top it off, they also charge $5 per person for the shuttle service, which is baffling given the price of the rooms. You would think these basic amenities would be included, but they are not. It feels like a scam, so be cautious and check your statements.
