Happy Stay near Denver Airport
My husband and I stayed one night prior to our flight home. It was very convenient to the rental car return and airport. The room was clean and comfortable. The evening reception was relaxing, and we received excellent service from Julio at the bar. We ended up eating dinner there. Julio was very professional and always said, "cheers" when providing us with our drinks. Thank you!
Shelter from the 2022 Holiday flight cancellation apocalypse
We were caught up in the 2022 Holiday flight cancellation apocalypse. Highlights: Airport shuttle was as advertised; front desk staff very helpful and understanding of stranded travelers; nice room with space for my family; cooked to order breakfast; and the hard-working and friendly server at the hotel restaurant. Not as great: food quality for restaurant, buffet foods for breakfast. Details: Learning a lesson from a holiday movie and own travel experiences, the morning after Christmas I made a hotel reservation while standing in line to talk to an airline agent. We gave up on the airline mid-morning and took the shuttle to the hotel, which picked us up per the directions in the recorded message when calling the hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful in dealing with weary travelers. The young man who checked us in found us a room that was ready for an early check-in which was a welcome relief from the waiting, waiting, waiting that went with the flight fiasco. My son was traveling with my wife and I, so the extra space in the 2-room suite was worth spending a little more. The hotel was full of travelers in the same situation, so the happy hour was well attended. The only restaurant outside the hotel within walking distance was a Village inn and they were takeout only, so we walked back to the hotel and ate at the in-house restaurant, which is the same area as happy hour. The restaurant was overwhelmed (probably not expecting the flight cancellations) with stranded travelers and wait was about an hour for food. Our server told us that up front before ordering and gave us frequent updates and checked our drinks. It seems she was overworked by the situation, but she was diligent, courteous and efficient. The restaurant food wasn't great, but we didn't really have many options. The hotel also had free guest laundry (buy detergent), which also was a big help for our situation. The next morning we managed to get a rental car reservation and I was able to catch the free shuttle back to the airport no problem. the cooked-to-order breakfast was great, the stuff on the buffet line not so great.
Bad holiday experience
No/full shuttles, dirty room, and small “suite” made our Christmas stay very disappointing. Long story but important to express how lte down I was with this Hilton prosperity! After canceled flight, was reschedule with a 15 hour layover in Denver on Christmas Eve. So tried to make the best of it with a suite at a Hilton branded hotel with free airport shuttle and big nice breakfast. None of that happened. First, the phone message clearly says where to pick up the shuttle and what to look for. After an hour of waiting for “a black van with the Embassy Suites logo on it” my wife thought she heard someone yell “Embassy Suites” so we make our way over to a white mini-bus with a small green paper in the window that had fallen down. When asking if they had room for 4 more, the lady yelled at us “it’s Christmas and I’m the only one working!” So now shuttle is full, it’s freezing, Christmas Eve and we have young children so we took an expensive ride Uber to the hotel. We arrive at hotel right after the shuttle crowd so have to wait in a long line while shuttle driver is hanging out in lobby. The two parties in line in front of me are told their reservations were not good and they are fully booked for the night. I’m now sweating because I booked though a discount website but thankfully my confirmation number was good. It is now very late and we made our way to our “suite” which is no bigger then a traditional room with an extra TV and table BUT IT’S DIRTY. Towels on the floor, un-made bed, trash on table. Make our ways back to desk, cut in line and given new room. By the way, guy at front desk was deaf. Not that it makes a difference, just interesting place to have a hard of hearing person work. It’s now Christmas morning. Breakfast was just OK. Definitely not the worth the extra money. Hotel only has a couple holiday decorations “up” that are literally falling off the doors. Merry Christmas! I asked about shuttle back to airport and told “driver is a no call, no show for work.” I’m given a business card and told to send Uber receipt for reimbursement. I sent receipt the next day and a weeks later still waiting for reply. Also they charged my credit card $16 for parking but we didn’t have a car. So on top of canceled and delayed flights this over priced disappointing hotel did not help our Holiday situation.
Great stay near the airport
From the shuttle ride to the hotel to check out, everything was wonderful. Our flight was delayed several hours but the shuttle driver was great and very helpful. Check in was a breeze, the hotel was immaculate, and the breakfast was a hit with the whole family. This is my go to hotel when staying near the Denver airport.
So Much Better Than Expected!!!
My son and I are checking out today so I thought I would write this review now in case I forget to later. We had an excellent experience at this property throughout our stay. All staff treated us so well. They reached out to me before we arrived to ask if there was anything we needed in our room. One tip, if you want your room cleaned be sure to request it. I noticed many hotels have started doing that because of staffing shortages. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. We were in room 1728. It had beautiful views of the mountains and was very quite. I wish I could remember everyone’s names who I interacted with because that were so kind and friendly. But the gentleman making the omelets, Porfirio Garcia was so sweet. While making a delicious omelet for me, he made me feel like I was talking with an old friend. It is really easy walking to many restaurants and shopping, I highly recommend staying here. Be sure to download the Hilton app. It makes it very easy to communicate with hotel. You can select your room and the check in/out process is very easy.
