    Family Trip to Deerfield Beach.

My family and I spent 5 full days at the Embassy Suites in Deerfield Park. Overall, this hotel is a solid 3/3.5 star hotel. If you are looking for the finer things, this would not be the hotel for you. If you are looking for a solid place to stay close to the beach, by all means, stay here. We arrived at 10am and asked the gentlemen at the front desk if there was a room we could check in to. To my pleasant surprise, he said there was, however, warned me that the hotel was doing some external painting beginning the next day, and we agreed that if this was a bother, we could move to a different room. The rooms are dated and certainly can use some TLC. We have a room with a Juliet balcony, which was nice to step out on for some fresh air or to watch the sunrise, but not big enough to put a chair to sit outside. Our room overlooked the pool and the beach across the street. Our room had 2 queen beds, and 2 full bathrooms which is great when you are traveling with 2 teenage daughters. Each room comes with the regular allotment of towels, but you also get 4 pool/beach towels which you need to return back to the room or you will get charged $10/per towel. The towels looked old and rough, so we wound up going to Walmart and picking up towels to use for our stay. When you check in you get drink tickets for 2 complimentary tickets for the hotel's drink of the day (was always something fruity with a hint of alcohol). Each adult also gets 2 drink tickets that can be used at the hotel happy hour (5-6:30pm) which includes beer (drafts were broken), well drinks, or wine. A nice touch if interested. Know that the resort has a $35/per day resort fee and parking fee ($29/day for valet and $26/day to park yourself). All in, this works out to be around $70/day with all the taxes. If you park yourself, you have to park on the lowest level of the garage as the initial lower level is for valet parking. Also, the elevators on one end of the hotel were broken, so you were told to park on the other end. I have read that elevators not working have been an issue for a long time. As a Hilton property, this simply should not happen. The resort fee gets you not only the drink tickets, but also a bike rental for up to 2 hours a day, 2 chairs to be used at the beach across the street, 2 bottles of water per day, amongst a few other things. Breakfast is served daily and has the usual staples. An omelet station, some pre-cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, bagels, English muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, and various juices. Having breakfast on-prem for free was definitely convenient and made things easier. The coffee was also pretty good. You are able to eat in the dining hall, or al fresco outside where birds and lizards will sometimes join you. We did not eat lunch or dinner at the resort as the menu did not appeal to my picky teenagers. The beach area across the street is ok (small). It is small and there are rock formations every 50 or so feet, which to me was an eye sore. There was also a lot of seaweed when we were there. Chair and umbrella rental is handled by a 3rd party. The hotel does cover the cost of 2 beach chair rentals, and you can rent additional chairs and an umbrella if you'd like. When we inquired, we were told that an additional 2 chairs and an umbrella would cost $60/day, which seemed kind of steep. However, the crew set it all up for you and they were working their tails off in the heat, so shoutout to them. The pool is open from dawn to dusk; however, I saw people in the pool at all hours, and no one said anything. The pool area is a decent size, and we never had an issue with people putting towels down and saving chairs. There is wait staff who walk around and take your order if you want something to eat or drink, as outside food is not permitted in the pool area. One issue we had. On the 2nd day, we were gone for the entire day and when we came back our room was not cleaned. When we inquired, we were told that the cleaning crew tries to get to as many rooms to clean as they can in the day. Again, not acceptable to me as we were not warned of this, were gone literally for 10+ hours, and came back to a room exactly the way we left it. I expect better from a Hilton property. Overall this is a decent, budget-friendly resort that works if you are not looking for 4 or 5-star amenities. I'm not sure if I would stay here again, as there are many other options in that area, however my stay was good.

    Noisy Old

I first thought the noise keeping me up at night on the 6th floor was the construction. But that loud pounding seems to end at 5pm. It was deafening and apparently had to do with the broken elevator near our suite. Meantime the source of the boom sounds every 15 minutes at night is the freezer. According to the front desk which continues to try to locate the disruptions says don’t be silly, no one is pounding nails at midnigjt! It’s just the old freezer. Then they all shrug their shoulders like they just don’t care. In fact an actual engineer of some sort came to our room last night and said he can check the freezer but probably can’t solve the bo sounds. Our bad. We should have found another hotel on day 2. That’s when I sampled the free breakfast which was like bad Disneyland cafe food. Everything tasted like it was made by Kraft food. Really really cheap. Totally cheap. Some Hiltons are pretty good. This one is a major disappointment. Needs much better management. And of course those repairs to the freezer.

    Go someplace else!

Started out fine-the lobby and front desk people are nice. The room had a nice set up but needs updating. The sliding doors open up to a partial ocean view with a barely 2ft platform, certainly not to be considered a balcony. Not even big enough to put a chair! There was one elevator that was shut down 'for repairs and renovations' (seems like this has been an issue for a decade after reading other reviews). The only working elevator has not been inspected according to the certificate posted and sounds like it is about to break, with loud gunshot-like sounds when it gets to each floor. The parking garage is disgusting and scary. Dark, wet, and rats. Tight fit if you have a large vehicle. The attached Beach Terrace restaurant sounded fun especially with the complimentary drinks from the hotel, but he staff is rude and miserable. Rodney is down right mean to the guests! The pool towels look like they are 25 years old! The breakfast was decent but the staff doesn't seem to care-coffee was empty, and they kept placing their 'tip me' QR code in front of us. During breakfast, a "Hilton Ambassador" walks around and tries to rope you into spending money on a "low pressure sales" timeshare deal! Beware-do your homework on this place before you book!

    Deerfield Florida Adventure 2024

The resort was much nicer than I thought it would be….the rooms were super roomy and very clean two bathrooms shower in one the other tub and shower fridge/microwave in room. We had a ocean pool view very nice pool was nice the staff made the stay even better Darlene at the front desk excellent service personality was 100% she gave us suggestions on where to go and what to do out of 10 stars she gets 15. Gene was the cook on the omelette station BEST omelets and he had the best personality then there was Theresa a Hilton representative and Olga also a Hilton representative both very personable and very knowledgeable of their job. There’s also a free shuttle to the restaurants and shopping within a 1.5 mile radius….the trip was amazing we will go back again and I do recommend this resort

    Best bartenders in town.

For a staycation we always stay the embassy suites Deerfield. Tito is the main reason why we come back, he’s very attentive , professional and you can really tell he does care about his guests. He’s always going over and beyond for us and makes us feel we’re at home. Please pass along our compliments to him . Can’t wait to book and come back! Rodney is another super star bartender, he really does care about his job,. These 2 guys combine together are a hit and do a job well done.
