Not what I expected
The preferred privileges for waste, no early check-in, no real perks, no dinner, just for preferred only breakfast. They never acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday Though it was included at the time of booking and told at the time check-in. Our refrigerator did not work. I had to call twice to get a maintenance worker and it still didn’t work after that. There was no hammock on our patio, the two chairs in our room more dirty, The sheets on our bed were never changed to new sheets, they just remade the same old dirty sheets. Room service telling guests to leave their plates outside and then we’re unable to get into our room because it’s invaded by raccoons. I was able get this on video.

great trip, would recommend
We absolutely loved the resort and the people we met there. The staff were always fantastic, easy to talk to, mostly bilingual and truly felt like they were there to help make our stay fantastic. The hacienda suite we were in for the week was dated pretty badly and could use a renovation, but as for space and that wow-factor with the first impression - you can't beat it.

Great wedding party
Average experience over all, great wedding party. Experience was tarnished with unbelievable waiting lines to get dinner reservation in the evening.

Tulum-The Wall. I’ll be back.
When we first arrived, our room was not ready for about an hour, and as a result of the delay for our room (as well as our entire parties rooms were upgraded-ours to a garden view in the 7000s building. The staff was incredibly helpful, the service was excellent and I am somebody that uses multiple face cloths. I know resorts are environmentally conservative with those requests, but they were very accommodating. Upon the first [full] day we ended up meeting a gentleman named Ronny, who hands-down deserves a raise by at least double for the work he does-interacting with guest and different people from all around the world. He has a great smile, and a wonderful heart. He was so gracious to share with us tips about different things locally, getting us involved in different activities. He made sure to say hi each time we saw him and taught us Spanish words! He’s absolutely a dream to have as a part of the Dreams Telus Resort & Spa team here. I will submit a few other staff members like Jared and Ricky, who definitely deserve to be recognized as well for their hard work as staff and getting people involved in all the different water activities and beach events and late night activities prior to the club opening. I had a wonderful time! The staff that completes room cleaning as well as room service are incredibly professional. I recently stayed at a different resort further up the coast of Mexico a few months ago and I can tell you the service here was far as superior to that resort. I also like to add that the food is excellent! Now you will have to wait a bit of time if you do want to eat at the Seaside Grill it’s incredibly popular for both lunch and dinner, but overall the buffet is incredible. I myself enjoyed it and I’m somebody who does not like a typical American diet. I was able to find something each and every time I went to the buffet whether it was for breakfast lunch or dinner. I was able to try each restaurant while I was here and I have no negative reviews other than sometimes the wait times can be long as they only take reservations for the hibachi grill. I enjoyed the scheduled activities they gave each night prior to Sky club opening. The building was central to everything. If you have a chance ask to be in building 7-I stayed in 7110. While it is a family resort, and I’m a childless person the overall noise level wasn’t bad. Most of the noise that did bother me was other children. It would be nice to have the “Relax Pool” stay child-free; however, that is a big ask for a family resort. I have no opinion on cost as I booked this last minute, but all-in-all Dreams is a beautiful resort and in a perfectly lush place! There’s so much greenery. I’d stay here again if I came on another group trip with children.

Paradise in Tulum: Exceptional Service
Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa – October 2025 The town of Tulum has captured our hearts and our stay at Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa was unforgettable. A resort in the jungle with authentic Mexican charm, character and architecture. There wasn’t a day where we didn’t see staff cleaning the grounds and grooming the plants and trees. It’s no wonder the landscape is impeccably picturesque. The food was amazing. The options were endless. With seven restaurants, a pool-side grill, multiple bars and a café/smoothie bar, you could easily eat all day. The food was fresh, flavourful, and enough variety for all taste buds. We were so impressed by the quality and choices. And the service…wow! We were so lucky to meet some of the most hospitable and friendly people. Guadalupe (pool/beach server): The world’s warmest and brightest smile belongs to Guadalupe. We met Guadalupe on our first day. She defines hospitality and takes great pride in her job. She always made sure we had what we needed and went out of her way to take care of us. Through our conversations, we learned more about Mexico and even more about Mayan culture. We shared stories about our families. She’s one of the reasons we are planning a return trip in the near future. Thank you, Guadalupe, for your kindness and for making Mexico feel like our second home. A special shout out also goes to: Andrea (Manager), Saturdino (pool/beach server), Enrique (pool/beach server), Reyes (pool concierge). Including Guadalupe, this is the A-team! Thank you for bringing comfort and relaxation to our days. World Café Restaurant Staff: Audomaro, Reina, Elizabeth and Yaneli Thank you for the friendly service and always remembering where we like to sit! Coco-Smoothie/Café: Francisco and Angel Two more friendly faces who bring new meaning to speciality coffee and superb smoothies! Front Desk: Rodrigo Rodrigo was one of the first staff we met when we arrived. He had our room ready earlier than expected. He was patient with all of our questions about the resort, excursions, and more. First impressions matter and Rodrigo made sure of it! Front Desk: Armando The A/C in our room wasn’t working on the last night. Within an hour, we had another room prepared for us. Thank you for a very comfortable last sleep in Mexico! Thank you again to the entire team. We never thought we would consider returning to the same resort twice. We now understand why people do it. You can find sun, sand, and water anywhere, but what leaves a lasting impression are the people. With sincere gratitude, Nikolas and Michelle
