    Highly Recommend

this was our first family friendly resort. we enjoyed every moment from when we arrived up until check out. specialty restaurants are really good, the buffet is alright, juice bar, coffee shop, other amenities were great and open pretty much all day. unfortunately theres a lot of seaweed so everyone was in the pool but its well maintained and many activities to keep you entertained. theres also a bar in the pool for convenience. staff was amazing throughout, I would highly recommend staying here.

    Read the fine print

During our first full day at breakfast, we met with the VIP desk for what was presented as a “welcome package.” The representative offered my children (ages 9 and 13) and me an opportunity to visit and experience another Hyatt all-inclusive resort. It was explained in a way that led us to believe we would be receiving a simple day pass. Instead, we were taken to a three-hour vacation club sales presentation. During that time, my kids were left sitting on a hot patio in the sun, bored and uncomfortable. I feel completely misled by this experience, and it ultimately cost my family one of our four vacation days—time we had saved all year to enjoy together.

    Fun Family Trip

We stayed at Dreams for the first time 3/23-3/27 and had a great experience. We had 2 “Preferred Garden View” rooms. We traveled with another family that also had the same rooms. Overall, the upgrade to the preferred rooms was worth it in our opinions. Upon arrival, we were greeted and taken into the preferred lounge for check-in. Everyone was very nice and welcoming until we ran into an issue with one of our rooms. We had used “points” to reserve this room. The resort was showing that we had marked our 15 year old son as an infant and wanted to charge us over $200/day for him. I spent 25 minutes on the phone with the points company to have this resolved. Once complete, we were given our rooms keys but felt as if we maybe missed receiving a lot of additional info about the resort because the other family found out so much more than we did at our checkin. With the preferred rooms, you receive better room location as well as access to the premium lounge, an additional restaurant for breakfast, and the adult pool. As far as the additional access, we only found the premium lounge to be best for slightly higher shelf liquors and the adult pool served Sol beer. Overall, for the resort: Pros: -Extremely clean : everyone works very hard to keep the entire resort grounds looking spectacular -For being an all inclusive, the food actually was pretty decent. They work hard to be aware of food allergies and try to provide options for all dietary restrictions. -The main pool is huge and the adult pool is a good size -They do a nice job of trying to provide different activities/entertainment throughout each day. During our stay, we made bracelets, made keychains, took a bike tour, mini golf, Zumba, pool aerobics, water slides, pool bingo, and never missed watching the crazy game at 3. We all enjoyed the evening shows, but the Rock Show was definitely our favorite! -The walking path around where the buildings with rooms are, is great for morning walks/exercise. -All restaurants do a great job of helping to celebrate birthdays! -Rooms are spacious (we had 2 rooms that both had double beds) -Housekeeping staff does a fantastic job of straightening the room, cleaning and providing a turn-down each evening. -The adult pool is secluded and quiet -We felt extremely safe everywhere at the resort Cons: -Currently the beach is unusable due to the sargassum. The hotel puts in tons of effort throughout the day cleaning the beach so you can at least use the sandy beach as well as not suffer from the gross smell, but you aren’t able to get into the ocean due to the large amount still in the water -The hotel uses nothing to identify you throughout the resort. My oldest daughter was asked for her id a few times, otherwise, there’s no bracelets or anything of the sorts identifying guests. -Pool bars close down at 5, which means the pools also clear out. -There once the evening theater show is over, there isn’t much for kids/teens to do at night. Special shout-outs for Eduardo and Edgar! Our kids all loved their personalities and services!

Lovely place but do not get married here

Went here to get married, I do not recommend. They were very nice, available, and friendly until we paid our deposit and invited fifty guests to attend. Once they have your deposit and know your friends and family already booked the charges keep going up and up, suddenly you have to pay outrageous amounts for things like lights or napkins. Was very difficult to get any explanations out of anyone, the wedding planners seemed too busy to assist you. We ended up cancelling them as a venue and held our wedding off resort, best decision we ever made. Because we already booked the hotel we still stayed there but it seemed like we were not welcome. Even though we were there for our wedding they would not acknowledge we were there to get married. Also, it is impossible to get almost anything out of any staff unless you bribe them. For example If you want a table at a restaurant you have to slip someone a 20 or you’re waiting 30-120 minutes. The report recently added a few more blocks of rooms and didn’t properly upgrade their infrastructure so if it’s not full it’s a lovely place but if it’s full it’s over crowded and near impossible to be comfortable. The added rooms and overwhelmed infrastructure is probably why the wedding staff seemed uninterested in helping us, they were probably overworked. If anyone would like to know more about why you should not get married here you’re welcome to reach out.

    Spring birthday trip

My second trip to a Dreams resort in the past few weeks and the Dreams Resorts never disappoint. The rooms are spacious, however some of the buildings are far if you have any issues walking. They do have shuttles to pick you up if you prefer. The restaurants, nightly entertainment, and lobby are all centrally located. There are plenty of activities around the pool, in the lobby and on the beach. The only complaint from our group of 13 was the pool bar closing at 5:00pm. We were hoping for 6:00pm but just a suggestion. The entertainment in the lobby, at the pool and the Theatre was awesome. The beach was okay.... lots of seaweed, but it happens. Still very walkable. Overall, a fabulous resort, highly recommend!
