Large Resort - Worth Exploring Every Inch
We have long been going to the Dreams/Secrets resorts (over 13 years now). This is by far the largest resort with an entire series of buildings for the preferred club (not adults only). As always the Dominican people are what keep us coming back every year. This is on a beautiful property with a great beach that you can walk for miles. Be sure you understand the layout and get a room that fits your stay. You want to be at the beach, upgrade and get a preferred room down by the beach. If you want a quiet personalized stay, get a room with a swim up in preferred like building 7. Be sure to check out the entire property, it is huge and takes some time to get it figured out. We stayed in Preferred Jade section in building 6 on the 3rd floor overlooking the preferred pool. Loved our location and being on the 3rd floor. The rooms are double suites, with a living room, full bathroom and patio on one side and bedroom, full bathroom, connecting patio on the other side. Largest rooms we've had at these resorts. These rooms are new, spectacular. Service is always excellent in the DR, this staff was exceptional!! Great value and the preferred upgrade, although not adult only, is worth the money. If you really want the adult only option, go next door to the Secrets. Good food, Seaside was our favorite option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We love to go over their Independence celebration which creates a great day and special experiences with meals on the beach. Be ready to explore this big place if you come here. It's worth it.

Awesome resort that could use a little improvement on food quality
We had a great time at Dreams and would definitely consider going there again. I rated them as "good" vs "excellent", just dinging them mainly for some shortcomings on food quality which I'll expand upon below. We stayed in the Preferred Club suites in the newer section that's on the other side of the lake from the main section of the resort by the beach. Our rooms were awesome having a separate sleeping area and 2 bathrooms/showers. It was great being able to "escape" from all the action at the main area after a long day there, and go back to the relative serenity of our area (then go back to night time activities/specialty restaurants if we felt like it). For context, we generally ate breakfast, hit the beach, came back to the pool in our area, grabbed dinner (usually Portofino's or room service but did the Hibachi one night in the main section), then went to bed. We didn't take in the shows at Dreams or Secrets, but did do the casino at Secrets a few nights. The casino was probably typical for resorts, having a few blackjack tables, poker tables, roulette, and a number of slot machines. The water park looked fun but we didn't have time for that. The resort buildings, grounds, pools and beach area were beautiful and impeccably maintained. We enjoyed taking the footbridge walkway (about a 10-15 minute walk) over the scenic lake from our area to the main area, but getting there via the golf cart worked well too as we only had to wait a couple minutes at the most for a ride (which took around 2 minutes). The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our concierge, Mayker who kept us well informed of daily activities and handled some special requests during the week. The variety of food and dining options was good but food quality was generally a bit of a let down however. Meats tended to be tough, scrambled eggs were slightly undercooked and bacon was mostly limp for breakfast, and dinner entrees tended to rather bland (note to self to bring crushed red pepper and Tony Chachere's creole seasoning or similar seasoning next time :)). For breakfast they had someone preparing eggs/omelettes to order, and the baked goods as well as other breakfast items were good, so there were always ways to overcome the few breakfast shortfalls. We enjoyed pizza at Portofinos. We had room service several times there and they always came within the estimated 45 minutes. The wait times for dinner at Portofino's was a bit of a downer, as they were about an hour, but we only did that a few times and it gave us time to chat with other tourists which was nice. Drinks at our Preferred Club pool bar tended to be a little better (stronger) than at the Sea Legs bar between the main pool and beach. There were always servers walking through the beach area waiting to take drink orders. We felt very secure at Dreams. We had a lost item and some friends we met down there had a lost item that both were recovered thanks to their staff. We had one incident where folks in the room above us came back clearly inebriated and appeared to be fighting. We called the front desk and they had security there in a few minutes to diffuse the situation. They were quiet the rest of the night and the nights following.

Loved DRB!
We stayed here for 6 nights and had the best time. We’ve stayed at another Dreams property and DRB completely met our expectations. The property and beach is beautiful, the food was good with plenty of options but the team is definitely their biggest asset. Our concierge Martin, checked in with us daily, helped us get hibachi reservations and was able to help with all requests we had! He was amazing! We came with our two young adult daughters and the entertainment team was their favorite part of the entire trip! Big shout outs to Baby Face, Tarzan and O.M.G. My daughters could be a little hesitant to get involved in the entertainment activities but these entertainers made them feel like they were apart of the family, made them feel comfortable and really were the highlight of our trip. We wish they were highlighted more on your social media pages so we can feel like we’re apart of the fun until we return again! Another shout out to David at the Blue Dorado and his “David Special”, probably one of the best drinks I had the entire time!
