Nov 19, 2024Not sure if I’ll go back
Not what I expected but, overall a beautiful scenery. The room outlets kept going out and stopped working and at 5:30am one morning the bathroom tub started making a loud noise through the pipes waking me up and didn’t stop for almost three hours!

The only other all inclusive resort I could compare to was Beloved in Mexico & it far surpassed this Dreams resort. However to be fair, it is not a direct comparison. Beloved was more expensive & couples only. PROS: The entertainment was amazing. We saw several shows at the theater/pool & they were excellent. Kudos to the violinist. The food was good, esp the beef everywhere, very tender. We did not do preferred or ocean front & I have no regrets, our room was a convenient location. The spa was very nice. The app was very good to preview menus/request room service or amenities. Provided toothbrushes/sewing kit etc CONS: All of the alcohol was very watered down or the bottles were refilled with something else. I am a lightweight & could drink all day with no buzz along with the taste difference. The showers were very freezing or scalding hot. Took forever to regulate the temperature. You only get limited amount of towels/washrags. Often at the beach I like to take multiple showers due to sand etc. & the towels need to go on the floor due to the shower water flowing out so had to request new towels/washrags often. A few extras would have been nice. Our room smelled very musty when we got there. Overall it was a nice resort with lots of bars & pools. A few little improvements could make huge difference with the overall experience.

To give some context to the review We stayed at Dreams Macao beach the second week of Nov 2024. We are a family of 4 with 2 girls under the age of 8 and has Preferred club accommodations during our stay! Check in since we had Preferred club we were brought to the lounge where you can find snack and drinks while you check in. the room was not ready even though we got to the hotel around 3:30 pm took a good 30 minutes by the time we filled in the documents and had to wait for our butler to come introduce themselves. He made sure the room was clean and got our bags shortly after. Preferred club (is it worth it?) For us with kids we did not take advantage of the adults only pool but was nice to have the preferred club pool where is a bit quieter to swim with the family. We did not eat at oceanside for lunch or breakfast but enjoyed having separate seating in the buffet during our meals where was a bit quitter. Their is a separate beach area but was further from the water so we did not use it. You also have access to a butler and mostly communicate with them via whats app. We just used that service for extra water bottle in the room and table reservations for the Hibachi table. is it worth it? if you are going to use the adults pool and restaurants for lunch and breakfast then yet. For us I would say besides the quieter pool was not worth the upgrade. Room: Family of 4 we were situated in building 1 between cococafe and the beach. great location and honestly no matter where your room is you are a 2-5 min walk to everything so room location you are paying for view rather than location. size of the room very comfortable to relax and have our stuff Food: I am no foodie but I can say for all meals you will find something for everyone. note that restaurants close some nights and are on rotation. We would usually eat around 6-6:30pm for supper and never waited. I suggest the food truck near lazy river for healthy snacks and cococafe for smoothing and coffee with good varieties. having been my third time in Punta cana we were able to eat well especially at the buffet. The sit downs were good with great service and did not take long to eat. usually in and our in an hour! Pools: Main pool is great and where you will find animation staff and activities. kids water park is good for kids I would say 9 and under. lazy river was great sitting and floating with a drink while water slides were find offering variations. NOTE you have to be 4 feet or taller to use them and if its raining they close the slides. preferred adults pool had a hot tub and preferred family pool is 2 level in the middle of the resort and nice for families to hang out with drink service and near the grill. Beach: the Sand is nice and soft and great o play in. The vendors do not hassle you much if you say no once in the day they do not come back. the girl got their hair braded by Sarah (look for the red hat pink shirt) she was great and kind with the kids and made them feel special. the Waves are rough there and 2 days they did not let anyone venture out. I heard their were 1-2 rescues during our stay. We saw numerous people get knocked over and did not let our kids venture in the water cause the undertow was rough. Macao beach is good for surfing and body boarding Take away: I am sure I am missing things but honestly if you are looking to spend time with good food, excellent staff and pool activities stay here. we loved we can walk 2-3 minutes from the beach to the other end of the resort. Plenty or bars and food option with little or no wait (might also be was quieter time of year) but still plenty of staff! lots of activities including the kids club which our kids did for 2 hours one night for their 7 pm PJ party. they watched a movie with dinner and then go to the disco to do dances until 8:45 when we picked them up. if the beach and ocean is important you might want to look elsewhere as the ocean has some decent waves. I would go back is we are headed to Punta Cana 100%. We wanted to relax and spend time as a family and did just that with not a single complaint really. kids got to swim and play beach sports. we would go to and from different pools throughout our stay and always had room to sit. Special shout out to the staff (everyone really) but especially: Sabrina at World Cafe who greeted us everyday Estimald (hope got that right) who was lifeguard at the water slides letting my daughter and I race probably 100 times. Coco cafe: Kendry, Carolina, marian and Arlin who always greeted us with a smile with good coffe and ice cream numerous times a day.

Wedding Group
This was a Great resort! Very well mapped out. Great food and something for everyone. We had our daughter’s wedding here. Greisy, our wedding planner, was the best! Domingo was amazing! If he is your butler you will not be disappointed!! 10/10 recommend

Family Vacation
Overall good place to vacation food was amazing and just a very good experience everyone was friendly and just a pleasure to be around and my butler Domingo was the best came when I needed him had a great personality I will definitely do this again.
