Lovely winter break.
A lovely relaxing winter break. The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Dreams is in a great location; near to the Marina, beach ; shops and bars. The hotel pools are really nice with good bar service. Just would have liked more padded sun beds. Food is excellent on the whole, plenty of choice and good quality Would like hot breakfast items( bacon sausage etc) to be warmer but fresh cooked eggs and omelette delicious. Buffet in evening always excellent and hot.Preferred club excellent, good selection of snacks and drinks in lounge and mini bar well stocked. Without exception all staff attentive, polite and helpful. A very enjoyable first visit to Lanzarote and the hotel We will definitely return to the Island and the hotel.

Fun glass jewellery making experience
Good fun with knowledgeable tutoring in the art of putting together a small piece of glass jewellery that was then fired so you could take it away as a small memory. Many thanks to Magda & Jessica.

Glassmaking Workshop
My mum and I did the glassmaking workshop whilst staying at Dreams and we loved it! Our whole stay was wonderful. Thoroughly recommend.

Not 5-Star — Misleading, Overpriced and Disappointing
We stayed at Dreams Hotel & Spa Lanzarote for a week and I honestly cannot understand how this hotel is rated 5-star. It is massively overpriced and nowhere near the luxury experience it advertises. The whole hotel is clearly built around pushing Preferred Club guests as the “real” all-inclusive customers. Standard All Inclusive Plus is basically second class. Preferred guests get better pools, more food options, quieter areas and longer restaurant hours. The system is confusing, poorly explained and feels deliberately misleading. For the money we paid, we genuinely thought Preferred Club was included — it wasn’t. To make matters worse, we met another Scottish couple on the exact same package who were given a free upgrade to Preferred Club, while we were not. Completely unfair and unacceptable. Not Luxury – Just Tired and Neglected The hotel desperately needs investment. It feels old, worn out and poorly maintained. • Lifts are rundown and barely fit a wheelchair • Floors were often dirty • Beds were rock hard and uncomfortable • Pool umbrellas are useless — they don’t tilt or move so offer hardly any shade This is not what you expect from a so-called 5-star resort. Food – Mediocre at Best Food was average and frequently lukewarm. Despite advertising multiple restaurants, barely any were open during our stay, so don’t expect variety. The Barefoot Grill times are ridiculous: • All Inclusive guests: 3pm–5pm • Preferred Club guests: 12pm–5pm So Preferred guests get lunch and late snacks while everyone else gets a tiny, pointless window closer to dinner. It’s just another example of how unequal the experience is. Sewage Smell Throughout the Hotel The worst issue by far was a strong raw sewage smell that ran from the lobby bar through corridors and into the rooms. It was disgusting and made it hard to sleep. When I complained, reception only offered a room change (with two days left, and moving was difficult as I was travelling with my elderly grandmother). No apology, no compensation, nothing. Accessibility Issues We specifically asked for a ground-floor room due to my grandmother’s mobility and were instead given a room far away on the first floor. Completely ignored our request. More Problems: • Mini bar not refilled most days (missed 4 out of 7) • Main pool constantly loud with music — no chance to relax • Adults-only areas restricted unless you pay extra • All Inclusive Plus means very little in reality The Only Positives: • Staff were friendly and tried their best • Housekeeping was excellent • Entertainment each night was genuinely very good • Great location near shops and the beach Final Thoughts This hotel markets itself as luxury but delivers a dated, divided and disappointing experience. For the price we paid, I expected far better. You can easily find hotels just as good for half the cost in Lanzarote. Do not be fooled by the 5-star label.

A very enjoyable stay but with us a massive caveat
We were here for a week on an all inclusive basis ( having stayed last year on a B& B basis but preferred) . We were offered the opportunity to upgrade to preferred at a reduced rate but declined as felt still very expensive for the benefits we would have received. Check was seemless and were very quickly in our room overlooking the pool at the rear . Room spacious and immaculately clean .No complaints at all although I still find the separate toilet from the sink and shower a bit bizarre!! Like wise room cleaned each day . Food was to a high standard ( especially the buffet lunch & dinner) and also lovely food to enjoy. We also ate in 3 of the 4 Ala carte restaurants and thought they were enjoyable. Drinks were to a high standard and service always fast . We think we may have benefited from the hotel being at lower occupancy? We think to maintain its high ratings the hotel may have to tweak a couple of minor issues . Toilet at pool a bit tired and some of the sun loungers have seen better days (relatively easy ) however what would stop me coming back to the hotel ( and possibly Playa Blanca ) is the smell !!!!! There appears to be some sort of sewage treatment spot between Dreams & The Barcello that depending on which way wind blows leads to a disgusting smell that you can’t get away from even with all doors closed. It was terrible on 2 nights My wife recalled it from previous visit but thinks it’s far worse now . It appears to be known locally a Pooh Corner !!
