Dec 22, 2025False Advertising and Breach of Contract - Stay Away
I am sharing this advisory to warn travelers about my recent experience at Dreams Karibana Golf & Resort, which was extremely disappointing and misleading. Despite paying for a Preferred Club upgrade, none of the advertised benefits were delivered. There was no upgraded drink package, no exclusive pool access (the “Preferred Pool” was open to all guests), and no meaningful premium amenities. Major Issues: False Advertising: Preferred Club perks such as private lounge, premium liquors, and personalized check-in were nonexistent. Service Failures: Nov 18: Buffet closed without notice; guests forced to eat outside in the blazing sun while management (wearing pink shirts) sat comfortably in the shade with fans. Nov 21: Beach closed all day for a private wedding hosted by the hotel owner’s family. Paying guests were denied access to the beach and Oceanside Grill. Policy Violations: The resort claims to be smoke-free, yet the hotel owners VIP guests smoked cigars and vapes in the lobby. Complaints were ignored. This experience borders on false advertising and breach of contract. I paid for services that were not delivered and was treated as secondary to the owner’s acquaintances. Worst Part: I submitted a formal complaint to hotel management and never received any follow-up or acknowledgment. I was also happy and willing to show photos on the smoking guests. Recommendation: I strongly advise against booking this resort unless you are prepared for broken promises and poor service. If you value transparency, fairness, and basic hospitality standards, look elsewhere.

We really enjoyed the family environment provided by the staff, the great food and lots of activities and entertainment by the pool area and all day such as silent, disco karaoke and dancing live music also. Jonathan entertainment was great thank you.

Don’t book
I would give zero stars if that were an option. Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing especially considering the amount of money we paid. From the start, the experience fell far below expectations. The all-inclusive drinks were clearly bottom shelf and actually made me sick. Housekeeping was inconsistent; after cleaning, basic items like towels and washcloths were not replaced, and we repeatedly had to call the front desk to request them. We never had hot water during our stay, despite multiple attempts by staff to fix the issue. The room itself was poorly maintained the balcony was filthy, including the glass, the front door was dirty, and several charging outlets were broken, forcing us to charge our devices in the bathroom. We were also disappointed by the lack of communication and amenities. We were told the pool closed at 6 PM, which we were never informed of beforehand. Given how unbearably hot it was during the day, evening pool access would have been ideal. There was nothing to do on the resort, the game room was unavailable, and overall, the resort lacked entertainment or activities. Additionally, there were no accommodations for my vegan diet, which was very frustrating at an all-inclusive resort. The worst experience, however, was at the Italian restaurant. After requesting a clean chair because the one at our table was visibly dirty, we were made to wait over an hour for our food, which was unacceptable. Overall, this resort did not meet even basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, or service. I will never stay here again and would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Very relaxing time!
Highly recommended! The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the variety of activities kept things fun and engaging. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the overall experience was incredibly comfortable.

Good time at Dreams Cartagena! Amazing attentive staff all the way around. Sebastian at the reception is getting it done when my The Air conditioner is not working in the my room.The pool staff nice and ready to call you in a workout! Thank you Elmer, karen, Kenier, George. Chef Ingrid at the portofino excellent and consistently great foods. Authentic resort ! Lots of locals and maybe less International crowd. Food was ok except for the Italian restaurant which was great! Don’t expect an American resort it is Not! Beach water is warm with black sand beach! Enjoyed our stay!
