    Decent place but needs work

Dated Rooms, Lukewarm Food and extremely slow Room service. Waited over 2 hours for food to come. When it arrived it was wrong. Was told by the representative that the supervisor left to go get food from another resort. I had to call 6 times in one night.

    Don’t Waste Your Money

Worst Dreams resort I’ve ever been to. Food overcooked and you had to share with flies and birds as the salad, fruit and desserts were not covered. Hallway floor was dirty and never mopped the entire stay. We had mold in our shower and had to fight mosquitoes in the room everyday. I would not recommend this place.

    Would not recommend

Horrible food. 3 restaurants that were not open each day. Not much entertainment and not very entertaining. Best thing we did was rent a jeep and go explore outside the resort.

Would not recommend if you have food allergies

This resort has beautiful views. The resort is, however, ran down and needs maintenance. If you have any kind of food allergy, I would stay away. I have a gluten allergy, and none of the food was marked. The staff was not cooperative and helping me pick what I could and could not eat. The resort is relatively small. My wife and I rented a car and spent most of the week out visiting the island. I would not recommend if you want to just lay on the beach.

Not so great in a beautiful setting

Service was way less than adequate. Hotel staff was adequate and professional but waiters and servers in Oceana restaurant and the World cafe (buffet style) were slow to serve. Constantly ran out of hot coffee at breakfast, we had to serve ourselves our coffee, juice and water in paper cups. the coffee urn was most always empty. We had to fight the flies off the food at the breakfast buffet, then fight the birds off your plate if you needed to get yourself something extra. The breakfast buffet was the same every day including flies and birds. Lunch and dinner here were a bit better, there was more variety. The so-called Barefoot grill had burger patties set up in food warmers without heaters, so we essentially had self-serve cold burgers. We did get two fantastic dinners at the Oceana restaurant, but the second time I got sick (chills, diarrhea, and vomited at 3 am). I fasted the whole next day only drinking lots of bottled water and finally a fruit plate for dinner. The snorkel with sea turtles tour, I would venture to say might be called animal cruelty. Two small turtles hanging out by the edge of the water (one being manhandled by a local man begging for $10 to rub the turtle in your stomach). the trip to the desert with a cave visit included with this tour was also sub-par. It included a view of pink flamingos which we saw half a mile away we didn't even stop to see them. The tour guide simply pointed them out, as we drove by slowly. The best part of the trip was a restaurant where we stopped for about an hour. Total waste of tour. The city tour was just as disappointing; we stopped at the city center for 30 minutes which is a beautiful place then we were taken to see the rich people's houses where supposedly Sean Penn has a house (big deal). Wasted an hour or so driving through that neighborhood looking at tall security fences (not impressed at all) I've seen better houses in my middle-class neighborhood. Then we went back to the town where we were given an hour to sight see and shop. Not even enough time for either, we would have been happier to spend at least 3 hours walking through the city maybe having lunch or something. the verdict? total waste of $100 per person. We could have simply gotten a taxi for 50 bucks and spent the day walking around town. Finally, would I return to this place? Not in your life time. I hate to be so negative, but it is what it is. hopefully the company improves the issues at the hotel and things get better. The place is not very big and needs more shade and chairs by the pools. They also need more towels for the pools. The bars were amazing, but one can only suck in so much sugar infused alcohol.
