From the moment I checked in with the most unhelpful Thilany my score was going to be 1 star from the outset. However, despite her lack of professionalism, over the days I realised the whole hotel shouldn’t be penalised for one persons behaviour. I had requested an early check in (which I was happy to pay for despite being an Honors gold member) as I was arriving from a cruise and sadly don’t have any control as to when the ship docks. Thilany couldn’t have cared less about anyone’s situation (there were others from the cruise checking in too). Why don’t you prioritise hhnors members - it’s not that you don’t know we’re coming and guests check out all hours of the day and night so why weren’t there any rooms ready? Despite me asking all this, Thilany was just totally dismissive telling me she’d contact me when the room was ready - totally no surprise she didn’t. When I went to check if it was ready at a later time she didn’t even direct me to my room so I wasted more time taking the lift next to Reception to the 4th floor only to find out i was over in the extension. There was also no welcome as an HHonors member, nor cookie until I asked. Suffice to say I avoided her for the rest of my stay, I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life especially when I am on holiday. Luckily she was the only bad apple I encountered. The room itself was nice, bed was comfy and pillows were superb. Housekeeping were little angels and my room was cleaned promptly and to a high standard. Also Lily in the restaurant was fabulous. Polite, chatty and efficient - very approachable and happy to assist with anything - maybe she should work on reception instead of Thilany. Guy on the outside desk who does the buggy runs to the beach was also happy to help anytime and when I checked out the guy was lovely. Such a shame I had such a bad start to my stay…..
