Not as good as it used to be
My family went for Christmas 2025. We have stayed at Divi Golf in Aruba every year for at least 4 years. We loved the 1BR suit because it gave my wife and I a separate space to sleep away from the kids. My only complaint about the room is that the shudders in the bedroom let a lot of sunlight in. They need to add blackout curtains, I have suggested this before. We loved the fact that although a little overpriced, which is expected in Aruba we could purchase the all inclusive package and eat at any restaurant at all four resorts. The beach wasn't the best but it was good enough. The pool and the staff were wonderful. Unfortunately I do not think we will be back for several reasons: 1) The staff was not what it used to be. They would ride past me on their golf carts and not ask if we wanted a ride to the lobby or a restaurant. . While on a golf cart one driver directly ordered my kids to sit upfront with me. Traditionally my teenage daughters could sit wherever they wanted. I agreed and told them to sit with me. They complained and I told them to sith behind me. The driver said to me "YOU ARE NOT A GOOD FATHER. YOUR KIDS DON'T LISTEN TO YOU. YOU ARE TOO SOFT". He said it in a heavy Dominican accent. He proceeded to lecture me how to raise my kids. My wife is also Dominican and they started arguing in Spanish. I've been in law enforcement for over 20 years and I came to Aruba to relax, not argue. I let it go. My wife was very upset. That was the FIRST DAY. Also, I made reservations at the concierge desk for one of the restaurants TWICE just to show up and find out I didn't have a reservation. Apparently if the desk doesn't confirm the reservation you don't have one. They told me they confirmed but didn't confirm twice. We had to find another place to eat. 2)THE FOOD- I purchased the same all-inclusive pass I do every year just to find out when I got there they changed the policy. The regular all inclusive pass was only good for restaurants at Divi Golf. It used to be good for all the restaurants. They started a higher level all inclusive meal package that would allow me to eat at all the restaurants. It would have cost me an additional $2000. This is one of the major selling points for me to stay at Divi Golf. It was already priced a little high and definitely not worth an additional $2000. I was told that if I wanted to eat at another resort I had to pay for it over there separately. Breakfast for example was $35 per person. That's a lot for a meal that used to be included. Also, The food at the buffet at Divi Golf is not as good as the buffet at the other resorts. They remodeled the buffet but it's still not as good. They do have 2 nice restaurants but it's not worth even the regular all inclusive price. I could go to an off-resort restaurant and pay the same or less for better food. Breakfast closes EVERYWHERE at 11AM. No brunch menu at all so forget about sleeping late if you want breakfast food. The liquor included with the all-inclusive is very cheap. If you want to upgrade you have to pay the full price for the drink. So unfortunately I don't think i'll be staying there again. I love Aruba so I will be back at a different resort.

Divi Village and Golf Review
Enjoyed our trip to this all inclusive. I liked that we were on the beach side of the road and had beach access without having to go anywhere else. Food on site was very good. If it is in your budget, get the mega meal plan, it has access to more restaurants. We ate at Mulligans and the Tiki Beach Bar a lot. Food never disappointed. For an all inclusive, with 15% service charge included, everyone had their hand out for a tip, especially meals, 15, 18 and 20% guides were on every bill at their full price. All inclusive food and liquor were free, but not so the large tips expected. Never had a problem with service, so some good points and bad points. Room was nice. Third floor balcony. No elevators. If you are mobility hindered, ask ahead of time for a ground level room. Housekeepers were spot on. Daily room cleaning. All Inclusive golf was ok. Greens were sanded and long. (SLOW). You could see under the sand that they needed a lot of work. Golf was free (listed at $30 for nine holes). Rental clubs were $47. Bring balls and tees. 3 Pinnacles for $8. 3 Pro-V1 for $22. Speaking of tips...the two cashier girls had a tip jar next to their register. What the hell do they have tip jar for? Guilt you into tipping for selling me golf balls and rental clubs? The course is not marked very well for direction and starting location. There is a putting green across the street from the Starter, and a tee box right next to that putting green. Problem is that is for the 5th hole. The 1st hole is back across the street past the starter in the other direction. I did get an extra hole in though after I figured out this wasn't the 1st. Tee times were only available from 10-230 for those not living on the Golf Resort part of the property. There isn't a store close by, but the bus stops right outside the Resort. Easy to catch every 20 minutes and costs $2.60. Avoid buying consumables in the next resort down in the DIVI area...Sunscreen tube $22. It is what it is. They have shuttles taking you between restaurants on other parts of the properties and to the casino which is close enough to walk if you are able (take the shuttle). One last thing, they do not serve straws with any drink. You get a spoon with a frozen drink. Not the best idea, but green I guess. We'll bring metal straws next time. Overall, we'll be back, but now with some knowledge (get the mega meal plan).
