    I cannot wait to go again!

    Beautiful resort. We did an all inclusive stay and the food was wonderful. The staff was friendly and responded to requests promptly. The room was spacious and very clean. The beach was right across from the resort which we really enjoyed.

    Do your Homework before Booking this Condo! Pictures are REALLY deceiving!

    The Good: The resort is good overall. Pools, Grounds, Public Spaces, Golf Course, Views from the Condo, Beach, Ocean, Location and the on site Restaurants are all great! Especially liked the complimentary Shuttle to the other Divi Resorts and the Casino which is nearby. The Bad: We made the mistake of staying in one of the few privately owned Condos on the property. It felt like stepping back in time to the 1980's. The Condo was tired, old, dark, and in general disrepair which did not make for a great first impression. Upon closer examination, we found many more issues (28 to be precise) throughout the condo. At over $800.00 Canadian per night, this did not even come close to our expectations. We have stayed in properties around the world and this is by far the worst. The Ugly: From day 1 until the end of our stay, hot water in the unit was a serious problem. First few days there was none. Sent multiple complaints to Divi and to the owner who seemed to be unaware of the issue. By the third day, it was admitted to me by a front desk staff member that there were repairs being made to the central boilers meaning hot water is produced remotely. Even after the repairs were mad, hot water took 10 minutes and more to get to the faucet, especially the faucets (shower & sink) in the Master Ensuite. This is unacceptable in ANY rental unit, especially one costing over $800 Canadian per night. Internet speed was painfully slow and numerous complaints to Divi & the owner did not result in any speed improvements. Internet at the public areas of the resort did appear to be better than within the unit. There are 5 very large and very noisy humidifiers located throughout the unit which are required to lower the units’ high humidity. They are physically connected to drains so they are not movable. The units constantly cycle on and off throughout the night making normal sleep almost impossible. The master bedroom Ensuite shower door is located very close to a metal towel bar mounted on the wall. This is s serious safety issue due to the fact that the shower door can only open outwards towards the towel bar. If someone were to swing the door hard towards the wall, the towel bar corner could shatter the glass of the door. The unit has central air conditioning but is not balanced. There is roughly a 10 degree difference between the main living area and the Master bedroom which is warm no matter what the thermostat is set to, which is located in the kitchen. The lack of balancing plus the fact that none of the main diffusers are adjustable or closable amplifies the problem. Even with the ceiling fan running in the bedroom, it is still unbearably warm. There is no hood vent over the stove top other than the built-in fan in the microwave which is not connected to any ductwork at all. Exhausted air is being circulated out of the top of the microwave and back into the room. It is also possible the microwave is mounted too low over the stovetop which is a fire hazard. No measuring tape was available to confirm this. Closet doors falling off tracks due to missing hardware Lower rack in dishwasher has missing wheels making movement of the rack difficult especially when loaded with dishes. Patching and painting required throughout – various scruffs, scratches and chips. Baseboards are extremely poor and may need to be replaced. Light levels throughout the suite are unacceptable – many dark spots, overall lighting depends on numerous table lamps. Kitchen is almost unusable at night when curtains are closed. Dark countertops, dark curtains, dark furnishings, etc are making the situation even more pronounced. Dining room light fixture is too low - safety hazard The wall where the Living room TV is mounted has no visible receptacle. It is buried inside the wall which is illegal. There are multiple power cords running directly through a punched hole in the drywall behind the TV. More receptacles are required in the Living room for this reason Televisions in the suite are 16 years old and of poor quality and remotes have no battery covers. The master bedroom appears to have been converted to a Lock-Off suite. The former closet was converted to an awkwardly designed kitchenette. A movable wardrobe is now the closet. There are communicating doors between the Lock-off and the rest of the suite which have the wrong hardware (deadbolts but no doorknobs). The main exterior door to this suite is a patio door with a keylock and C-pull. This door exits to a concrete patio, but does not connect to any walkway, path or other physical connection to the front of the building. This Lock-off is most likely not a permitted use and may even be illegal. Previous reviews have mentioned the loud noises coming from this lock-off when it is used for multiple guests (that are not related to each other). Washer Dryer is in an awkward placement in the Utility room. Controls are in Spanish with no English translation sheet to explain controls, plus it is impossible to see the controls due to the right angle placement in the room. Alos, there was no laundry soap provided. Exterior patio door requires handle. This heavy door which does not slide smoothly must be shut to avoid humidity buildup inside the unit, plus there are numerous insects, lizards, birds etc. to keep out There is no screen door to allow patio door to stay open. Tile grouting and caulking very poor throughout Half bath toilet has flush valve / flapper issues. Water will randomly keep running as flapper will not drop to close off drain. Also, toilet paper holder is mounted too low – extremely awkward to use. 1Master ensuite toilet has potential sewer back-up issues. Water gurgles and erupts randomly. Possible clog in drain or may require sewer back-up valve. Also, Toilet paper holder is mounted too low – extremely awkward to use. Master ensuite shower faucet mixing valve / cartridge requires maintenance or replacement – scalding hot water to ice cold water with very small movements in faucet handle Second Ensuite has broken towel bar Oven controls too low to read Kitchen cabinet over fridge has chipped filler strip Chipped glass on coffee table Patio furniture is rusted, tables are structurally unstable and of poor quality. The upper kitchen cabinets are poorly designed – the far right hand cabinet is almost impossible to reach due to the countertop and lower cabinets being in the way. Even a tall person would have trouble reaching the upper shelves. Overall kitchen layout is poor and does not utilize the space well. A straight run of cabinetry running into the living room and an unconnected island would work far better in this space. There are numerous table & floor lamps throughout the unit with several having burnt-out lightbulbs. There were no spare bulbs anywhere in the unit. There are numerous utensils in the unit that need replacing. Cutlery and utensils are substandard with spoons having sharp edges, several pieces missing, extremely worn or broken. Dishes and glasses are also chipped. The owner of this particular Condo (Condo 34) was responsive but dismissive claiming that numerous renovations had been done over the years (5 according to him), but the only thing which appeared to be updated were the cabinet doors in the Kitchen & Bathrooms. It was frustrating to spend valuable vacation time complaining to the Owner and to the Resort without any resolution. I even offered to personally meet with the maintenance person (which was arranged) to review the issues only to have someone come who barely understood or spoke English. All in all, I would never stay at this resort again following this experience and would advise anyone to do their homework before booking this condo!

    Vacation Doesn't Get Better!

    Divi golf is everything your family needs to have a great vacation. We enjoyed the pools & really enjoyed the slide...it is very fast! Food was wonderful everywhere we ate.

    Overcrowded mostly due to Air B and B rentals. All beaches open to the public. Hotel palapas can be used by public

    Divi pulled all palapas off beach, all bathrooms locked, moving outdoor showers off beach due to use by non hotel guests. Awful situation. Govt refuses to regulate tourism. Don’t go!! What used to be a relaxing vacation is no more.
