Very nice hotel, great gym, excellent value for the money usually
The hotel is well located, the hood around it as plenty of restaurants, there is a train station walking distance; and the tram pass in fron of the hotel. It has a huge car park under it, and their gym is simply a gigantic fitness club located in their -1 floor, with a 15M indoor well heated pool, and a large jaccuzzi. Staff at reception can be hit and miss, but the reception Manager is always a highlight, he remembers his guests. Breakfast is good; not spectacular, a solid 4 stars level, with some show cooking. The rooms in building 2, which are the larger ones, are a bit dated, but they are way from the Badenerstrasse, super quiet, with a lift going directly to the garage or the fitness, and are larger than in building 1 (hence the criticism about the room sizes), for their their superior rooms, these are in buildign 2, they are each at least 20SQM. Price for value is high, considering that any other 4 stars will be 30% more for a similar location, in town, walking distance from the restaurants on the end of Badernestrasse. The superior rooms have now been dotted with Nespresso machines and better coffee capsules than in the past, a small but nice upgrade to the service Pros : superior rooms are large enough for 2 pax, great gym and great pool, parking garage under the hotel; huge breakfast room and good overall products, nice garden for spring / summer breakfast, nice bar, excellent location, and usually competitive price for Zurich, quiet rooms, nespresso machines in rooms, often nice service, train and tram nearby Cons: the superior rooms are a bit outdated, some receptionist staffer arent super friendly, a bit far from the old town

Nice small hotel in Zurich, clean and serves customers nicely
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Zurich in Dec 2025 for 3 nights for business. The hotel is very responsive to customers needs such as taxi's, any issues etc. Very happy customer here. Pros: - Very clean. - Rooms cleaned every day, not all hotels do this these days. - Very warm. December in Switzerland is often cold outside but the hotel was nice and warm. Cons: - Quiet at night, albeit I had to wear ear plugs because the central heating system was blowing even though I turned the fan off. If you are sensitive to noise while you sleep, this could be a problem for you. That said, this is a common problem I find with many hotels around the world. - Very small rooms - to be expected in Europe. - I had an issue with power in that I did not receive power to charge my laptop, it turned out to be an issue with my UK power adapter that I have used for years. The front deck gave me a CH adapter to use and all was ok from then on apart from the USB outlet did not ever work for me.

I wouldn't recommend.
I went to Zurich with my school. It was unpleasant from the start. Firstly, I went to the shower and I turned on the water and I discovered that I could shower with the least amount possible. A couple of minutes later, I discovered that in order to get more water, I needed to be pressing a button the whole time, which was really uncomfortable to do while showering. Secondly, at the room of 2 friends of mine, the bathroom door was broken and there was a glass/window at the door from where you were able to see inside. Thirdly, they asked for 2 other students to pay for something they broke (which, although I agree that the students needed to pay, it's absurd to tell them that they have 10 minutes to call their parents, tell them that they have to pay 1500 CHF each and they the parents have 5 minutes to pay 1500 CHF. ). Fourthly, I went to sit on my bed and as I placed my leg on the bed, a wooden part of the bed from below the mattress fell from the bed. (It was one of the things thst was keeping the bed together). I tried putting it back in, but I didn't successfully fully do so. Fifth, although the breakfast was ok, I didn't have a nice time eating it, since there was a person who was being racist towards another person and the hotel staff just told them to change tables if they wanted to instead of kicking her out. Sixth, the dinner was unpleasant to say the least. The salad had some leaves witha really weird taste. The chicken had a sauce with a really weird taste. The dessert (Ice cream) was ok. In general, even though I (and many other students) stayed for 1 night, we didn't have a pleasant time. I really hope this hotel uses this and other reviews to make their hotel better, I really do. Thank you.

Exceptional Service & Fantastic Facilities
We have just completed our 5 day stay at the Crowne Plaza Zürich & would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zürich. Although it isn’t directly in the centre of Zurich a 5 minute walk to the No 3 tram takes you to Main Station or Central (Old Town), or the No 2 takes you to the Operahaus by the lake. Our room (2226) was at the back of the hotel & overlooked a small green area. It was very quiet even with the window open. The room was very clean & the tea, coffee & water topped up every day. The hanging area was limited but we didn’t really need to use it much so the shelving & drawers were sufficient for our needs. The TV was a good size & we were surprised to find BBC & Channels 4 & 5 UK channels - perfect when we chose to spend the evening in the room! The fridge provided was ideal for chilling a few drinks in. Whilst visiting this hotel we were able to use the gym & pool facilities of Holmes Place attached to the hotel for no additional charge. The gym equipment looked of great quality & the pool area exactly as shown in the photos on the website. Whilst we didn’t eat in the 420 restaurant we did have a drink in the bar & the gentleman who served us was very friendly & informative. The breakfast buffet was great - plenty of choice & excellent quality. We didn’t quite get to try everything during our stay! We were surprised that the quieter time on the notice outside the breakfast restaurant was stayed as 8-8:30 - but this in fact turned out to be true!! The ladies & gentlemen who were clearing & cleaning the tables were so efficient & also friendly that even when it was busy there was always somewhere to sit. The welcome we received from Sophie when we arrived (& again when we checked out) was great. She explained everything very clearly. During our stay we did have a few additional questions & again Sophie was so helpful. Whilst waiting in the lobby to leave for our flight I did observe several reception staff checking guests in & all the ladies were very polite & friendly. It was my birthday during this stay & it was so lovely to receive a card & a few treats from the hotel - and a few decorations!! That was such a surprise & I am very grateful. There seems to be a lovely atmosphere in this hotel - which in my experience always starts with the attitude of the manager - we didn’t meet them but I’m certain that the quality of the staff would in some way be a reflection of their management.

Wonderful hotel for a birthday celebration.
We booked this hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday on our first trip to Zurich. We found it to be a wonderful hotel conveniently located approximately 8 stops from the main train station on the number 3 tram. The hotel facilities are exactly as you would expect from a Crowne Plaza. Our room was spacious, very clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom. There is a nice big lobby area, restaurant and bar. The breakfast catered for all tastes with a wide range of options available, a great way to start your day. However, the standout feature of this hotel is without doubt the fantastic staff who during our 5 day stay accommodated our every need. They are all, exceptionally friendly, welcoming, efficient, caring and credit to the wider IHG family. Special mention must go to Sophie on reception for her exemplary service. We would have no hesitation staying at this property in the future. Thank you all at the Crowne Plaza Zürich for a most enjoyable & memorable stay.
