Consistent - Many Visits, Always a Great Time!
We've been to this resort a number of times over the years. I'm the first to admit, this is not a 5 star resort as it relates to some of what you may get at larger resorts. What it lacks is made up by the staff and the overall environment of friendly people at the resort, this has never changed since we started going in 2013 to this resort! I'm rating it a 4 based on experience. And here's why: Check in: I had contacted the resort many times over the months leading up to arrival asking for a king room. I never received a response at all; when I got to the resort, of course they had us booked in a double queen room, disappointing. However, there was a front desk manager that came out to talk to me and was incredibly kind and considerate. They acknowledged not responding and apologized, but also let me know we'd be on a list to change rooms the next day. The next day came and they didn't have a room, they again asked us to come back the following day. We elected just to stay in our room and pushed the beds together. I don't fault the resort or staff for this, but wish there was an easier way to get a hold of the front desk and have them respond. Room: Same type of room we've had over the years, it was a room with ocean view, the older part of the resort, but clean and as expected. Food: The food is good, but repetitive at the buffet. We used the a la carte restaurants a number of times and the experience and food was always excellent. If you're looking for a 5 start food experience, this isn't it, but thats not a negative, in fact, its positive as you know you'll be fed and have some good food at restaurants along the way. Pools: We love them both, the rooftop and the main lower pool both had different vibes and we alternated , sometimes several times per day. Yes, finding a lounger was complicated if you weren't reserving them in the morning. The pool and people have always been excellent, even if the lower pool is a bit dated, the rooftop is newer. Check Out: Same excellent experience, nothing but positive to report. The Cons: This resort still packs locals into the resort starting fridays and have them check out on sunday. Those locals are just there to party hard for 2 days, and the upper pool is usually over run by loud locals. We didn't encounter any issues with these partiers, most were a lot of fun, but the vibe changes over the weekend with these short stay folks. And yes, it could use some updates, there was only 1 elevator running the entire time we were there, but its a common issue and its not the first time. you just need to wait longer to get on an elevator during busy times. I felt bad for the staff and housekeeping/maintenance as they had to wait a long time to get on when the elevator was full. We will be back in April, we love the resort because we know what we can expect. I just wish there was someone to talk to about room assignment requests.....
