Just don’t……
PROS: Showers were usually warm. CONS: Dirty and rundown. Many things not working - phone (safety issue and needed for room service), air conditioning didn’t get cold and squealed, safe didn’t lock and wasn’t attached to anything, the lighted mirror gave off shocks. Room keys required replacement often. The online reservation system opened at 9:00 but all reservations were filled by 9:04 daily. We were a group of 8 but were never able to get reservations together despite the restaurants always being over half empty. Clearly they wanted us to eat at the buffet, where they wouldn’t allow more than 6 to a table. Food was mediocre at best. When in line for checkin or cocktails the Spanish speaking people were always served first. In the public hallways there are closets that don’t lock, when opened you can see into the bathrooms through the wall fans that are vented into the closets. The sun beds and lounge chairs were too dirty to feel comfortable using. Sheets and drapes have holes in them. We only had one towel to share for two days. Very noisy resort. I am baffled as to why this place gets any good reviews.

Wonderful week!...in spite of
My husband and I just got back after spending a week at the Golden Crown Paradise. We had a wonderful week together because we understand after 44 years it's not the quality of the food or the beauty of the room it's the privilege of time spent together. We've been in this Resort before about 15 years ago and there are definitely changes both good and bad. Here are several things that we believe would make the experience better.. there needs to be more chairs not Beach loungers but actual chairs and tables for people to sit at in areas that provide some shade somewhere near the pool area. There needs to be more daytime activities such as bingo and trivia and cooking demonstrations Etc during the day. The entertainment staff is wonderful they do crazy games everyday at the pool and they work hard but there are some people who can't really physically participate in some of those games. So you know Blackjack tournaments Bingo trivia those kind of things would really break up the Day In the Heat of the afternoon. The hot tub is really nice but it's more of a tepid bath water we ask multiple times if they could just crank the temp up a few degrees so it was actually really warm and they said yes everyday and it never happened. They should definitely reconnect the phones in the rooms. In case of emergency you cannot call down to the front desk they have disconnected all the phone lines and I was told it's because they really don't want to be bothered by the guest calling down to the desk all the time. It makes it very difficult to ask questions regarding times of activities are requesting a pillow Etc. They need to clean up the furniture dump next to the tennis courts that are premium Crown plus deluxe super duper sweet that we paid extra for look down on. We did have an ocean view but we also had a old furniture dump View. The only channel that you can get in English is CNN . They said there's absolutely nothing they can do about it there's nothing on the remote you can do to change it that's just the way that their feed comes in so don't bother looking because you genuinely can't get anything but CNN . And you cannot cast your phone to the TV . Also, There needs to be a towel station near the pool rather than completely down past the beach bar. And there need to be towels on the 7th Floor rooftop pool. If you up to the 7th floor you cannot get towels up there! Things are not very well maintained as far as the carpet in the elevators comes up be careful you don't trip on it when you get in, the area around the swim up hot tub has the same filth there and trash for the full 7 days.. we did let them know about it and it still wasn't cleaned up by the seventh day when we left. We feel like with just a little attention this place could become a four-star rather than a three. I will be honest with you I did have the opportunity to speak to someone in management for a few minutes one day just by chance Not By Request and I was telling him that some of these things are minor changes that would really help his TripAdvisor reviews to be better and he told me honestly they don't put much stock in the TripAdvisor reviews because they maintain a pretty full house all the time because their prices are low. So I'm writing this TripAdvisor review knowing it is not significant to them but just kind of as a way of letting everybody know it's a perfectly fine resort to go to for a week as long as you have realistic expectations. The food was fine actually we thought it was good. Never went hungry one second while we were there LOL. I have attached copies of menus to the restaurants on the adult side because I had trouble finding them online . All in all we've been married 44 years and it's about you're with way more than where you are. Go ahead and go I just understand this truly exemplifies you get what you pay for and keep that in mind and you'll be fine.

Happy return trip!
The staff was friendly! We ate at buffet on family side where the food was great and there was always a variety to choose from. The dinner staff at the Palapa buffet was always happy to see us. There are lots of vendors on the beach. They are always trying to show you their product but it's their job and even they are super nice.

Our 29 visit
The service staff make the resort as the ownership needs to upgrade the place. The complete service staff are terrific and they truly make the place as successful as it is. Love them all.

Basic but good
The rooms are basic and lack finishing. We paid for a room with partial sea view and got a room with a view of the tennis court. There were too many people we were told. The air conditioning didn't work very well so it smelled a bit damp in the room and the sheets were a bit damp. The fridge didn't have a freezer. The fan worked halfway. Otherwise good value for money but a bit expensive.
