Avoid crown paradise
Jesus the bell hop was amazing and the only highlight of our stay here! I would only compare the food to prison food. I don't think my expectations were that high but the food was inedible. Staying here was like being in a prison. We left everyday and spent a fortune on excursions just to be able to get out of here and get something edible.

Don't stay here
The only positive thing about Crown Paradise Club was Jesus the bell hop. He was attentive and informative and helpful. Everything aside from that was borderline offensive as a paying guest. The food was inedible. Completely inedible. We left daily just to buy food such as dominos, McDonald's and subway. What a shame to be at an all inclusive resort and have to go out everyday to pay for food. The hazards around every corner are dangerous. Minimal railings, handicap ramps so steep wheelchairs can not access them. $5 fee just to have water delivered to your room. The rooms smelled of mildew. Everything was damp. The staff (besides Jesus) were less than accommodating. I know people will want to come here because the photos look nice online and want to save a buck but DONT. Pay extra to stay at a place where you can actually eat the food. We were basically starving.

Overall okay some of the employees made it the best
The bell hop Jesus was amazing! Best staff by far! He was always so helpful and amazing! We can’t say enough about his kindness and helpful attitude! We would love to see him be employee of the month! He deserves all the praise in the world! Way to go Jesus!

great experience, friendly staff, ok food
hotel staff is all very friendly. Jesus helped us out so much getting a room with an amazing view and making check in/ out super easy and worry free. the hotel itself is beautiful. it has a walkway right to the beach with lounge chairs and a bar where you can get mixed drinks or water. they even have fun kids non alcoholic drinks. the pools were so fun with daily activities such as water aerobics and volleyball from staff. the only thing is there probably won’t be any lounge chairs available because wake up before 7 am to put their stuff on them and reserve them before anyone else can. extremely annoying especially if you have kids. the food was ok. they have different restaurants but not many options to choose from and you do have to reserve them at 8am. they will not serve you if you don’t have a reservation. food was probably frozen but some things were pretty good. overall amazing experience if you don’t let the little things ruin it. beautiful country

Low Budget Resort - Won't Be Back
Our group consisted of 11 people (7 adults, 3 children and an infant). We stayed from Jan. 29-Feb. 5th. We travelled with Air Canada Vacations and the shuttle driver dropped us off on the street (said he couldn't turn the bus around) and we had to walk up an incline with all our luggage to get to the resort. My husband suffers from severe arthritis and bursitis in his hip and this resulted in him being out of commission/unable to walk for the next few days. We also had a baby, and young children we had to manage along with our luggage, climbing up a steep incline. Totally unacceptable but not the resort's fault. Check-in was a nightmare. Their policy indicates a 3pm check-in. We had to constantly check to see if our room was ready and were told come back in 5 minutes, 10 minutes, there's an issue with plumbing, cleaning, etc. They actually smirked at us when we complained about not getting our room on time and offered one of our group an upgrade if we gave him a good review. We finally got our 3 rooms around 4:30pm and one room had no towels, and the crib requested had to be asked for another 2 times before we finally got it. Front desk staff do not care. My daughter's family ended up with some sort of stomach bug, each one going down one day after the other. Can't say if it was from the room, but they were the only ones who got sick on the trip. Trying to get the room cleaned, extra towels was a joke. I don't know if it's an inventory issue or whatever, but it took numerous times, visits to the concierge, front desk, and finally caught the cleaning staff in their room and begging for towels (and then they only wanted to give us 2 for a room with 4 sick people). Food and service was good in the restaurants, but all the comments about trying to use the app are true. It's a nightmare to try and get a reservation for a larger group. There were lineups for the buffet on numerous occasions, but the line did move fairly quickly. The food was ok in the buffet, we always found enough to eat. Long lineups to get ice cream. Shout out to David for his great service. Not so much for some of the other servers. I tried to get some plain chicken (Oriental night) that was available for a stir fry, to feed the baby who had been sick and the cook flatly refused to let me have any! You also have to ask for bacon and if they think you've had enough, they tell you there's no more. The resort amenities are old and worn out. Trying to get the equipment to play mini golf is almost impossible. Many times we were unable to play because they only had like 7 or 8 clubs and there was no system to book. The equipment in the rec room is also old and needs replenishing. Getting loungers has to be done by 7am or you are out of luck, not enough for everyone. People will also remove your towels and take your chairs. They ran out of towels daily. We have stayed at many resorts in Mexico. Overall, this is no more than a 3 star low budget resort. The kids had fun but as adults, we faced a lot of frustration at the lack of customer service. We need a vacation to get over this vacation. We won't be going back.
