Not suitable for those with an evening flight home
The Crown Paradise is a beautiful hotel on a gorgeous stretch of beach. The view is stunning. The meals were all great with tons of variety at a buffet as well as 5 a la carte restaurants . We had a wonderful vacation and were discussing coming back in April ...and then came check out day. This hotel's policy is to remove your all-inclusive wrist band by 2:00pm on check out day, regardless of when your transport returns you to the airport. As of 2:00pm on check out day, you will no longer have access to food or drink. As of 2:00pm on check out day, you will no longer have use of the hotel towel or showers. As of 2:00pm on check out day, you will not be able to use the pool or the access the beach, ( the property has a gate which needs to be unlocked with your wrist band to access the beach). The staff at reception expect that guests will sit in the lobby from 2:00pm until their airport bus arrives. All of this came as quite a surprise to us. We found out only when handing in our room keys on check out. If your return flight is in the morning or afternoon then this will not affect you. However if you have an evening flight, be aware that all of your all inclusive privileges end abruptly at 2:00pm. FYI...not turning in your wrist band promptly at 2pm is costly!!! 300Pesos, ( $25CAD) per wrist band per hour!!

Overbooked, Underprepared, and Desperately Outdated
The staff are excellent, the resort is clean, and the beach is incredible. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. We travelled during Christmas and New Year’s, so we expected the resort to be busy. However, if you are going to book at full capacity, you need the staffing and infrastructure to support it—and Crown Paradise clearly does not. The resort felt overwhelmed at all times. The food is mediocre at best, with poor restaurant logistics. A perfect example is breakfast, where one person runs the omelet station and lines are 20 people deep during peak hours. The rooms are shockingly run down. While clean, they are the worst rooms we have ever stayed in—rusted mirrors and faucets, water damage at the bottom of doors, extremely outdated bathrooms, and fixtures that look decades old. The resort is in desperate need of a full renovation from top to bottom. It is clear that nothing has been fixed or updated since this hotel was built. We had a family room with a king bed, bunk beds, and a trundle, which sounds ideal on paper—but there is virtually no storage. Aside from three small drawers and bedside tables, there is nowhere to put clothing. The large closet has only four hangers and no shelving, and the bathroom has no space at all for toiletries. We literally had to live out of suitcases for the entire week, which is unacceptable for a family resort. The front desk is chaotic, with 20–30 people waiting every time we passed through the lobby. The elevators were extremely slow, and we ended up taking the stairs every single time. Our room was not cleaned daily, our fridge was rarely stocked, and getting through by phone for basic requests like towels or water was extremely difficult. When you did reach your staff member, nine out of 10 times they did not understand English. This resort is several notches below what we’re used to, even accounting for the lower price point. While our kids had a great time, we would never return and cannot imagine staying here without children. In our opinion, it’s worth spending more money elsewhere for an updated, well-managed resort.

Vacation stay
Worst hotel I have stayed in. First they gave me the wrong room, then in the other room the bathroom was not working. Front desk was no help ever. Will not recommend at all.
