A wonderful hotel, hidden gem
We do not choose this hotel as it was part of a package for us to attend the Guinness Six Nations Rugby at Murrayfield and it was a lovely hotel. Our room was great, very nice indeed. Large bathroom but let down by a slightly small shower. Also, we could not get the air conditioning to switch off but eventually worked this out otherwise we would have had a cold sleep! The food both dinner and breakfast were first class, drinks too!

Fabulous Location and Lovely Surroundings
Fabulous deal @ £59.50 pppn on B&B with Bottle of Fizz per room per night when we booked last year through MyHotelBreaks Best part was no weekend supplements. As hotels in Edinburgh especially over a weekend can be very expensive. The deal also had an option of late check out but as we all were travelling back to different parts of the UK After our weekend 2 night stay, we could not take advantage. Hotel is is a great location with so much close by, all transport links are also near by. With both Bus & Train Stations within 5-10 minutes walk and Tram stop for Airport links right outside hotel. The Hotel itself was lovely after recent refurbishment and all our rooms 401/402 & 411 were comfy, spacious and clean. Although none of us were really a fan of the glass walls and doors in bathroom. Bathroom toiletries were also lovely but 2 of the rooms showers , water pressure was quite low. So could have been better and none of our rooms had any biscuits on the tea tray, which is unusual. I did mention this to Reception and was advised, there should have been but still no biscuits appeared. Breakfast on both mornings was good selection and buffet style .Other options were available to order at no extra supplement, pancakes were lovely. Bar could be busy at times and service slow as not enough staff on shift. All breakfast staff were helpful and happy to help. Reception always seemed to be busy during day. Would definitely recommend and return, especially if on this deal again. Also recommend the Indian across road Shezan if looking for food nearby. Food and Service is fantastic

Girlie wknd
The hotel staff are lovely and really went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Our breakfast server Ramseyer was such a lovely young lady , remembering drink preference from the day before and getting me exactly the same drink . The breakfast buffet was lovely with a wide variety of choices including made to order choices . I as a vegetarian had plenty of choice both hot and cold food and pastries and fruits . My only issue would be the same with all buffet food, it’s never quite hot enough for me . I thoroughly recommend the buttermilk pancakes . The room was lovely and clean and in a quiet corridor as requested , all the amenities were there that you needed including loving toiletries . I personally found the bed very soft which is ok for me but maybe not others . The bathroom is glass with a gap between the glass so you can hear and see everything going on so make sure you are very comfortable with your room mate . As a group we all agreed the water pressure to the showers was lacking giving a rather poor shower experience . We all agreed that on the whole the hotel was a lovely place to stay and near everything in Edinburgh . Was also fantastic value for money .

Very good
The location is superb, for the price we paid you could walk everywhere. The receptionist Yurin was very welcoming and I was impressed on arrival what service we got for the price paid. The hotel room could have been abit better - Mattress was VERY soft, far too soft for both of us but that is a preference not a problem. Shower pressure was quite poor. Air conditioning was clearly broken as our room was boiling hot but I didnt mention to the staff so I cant complain too much. However, there was shampoo, conditioner, plenty of towels, tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryer. Would I come back? Probably not with how soft the mattress was but I would recommend to others.

Handy
Situated at top of the Walk, ideal for getting around. Plenty of great restaurant to try. From arrival the staff make this worth it The rooms not very big, but well equipped, even face flannels, clean. Breakfast is good value with a great choice, buffet, but you can order eggs etc; the layout internally can be a bit confusing as there are floors below reception. It is situated a few minutes away from the tram connex to Edinburgh Airport. The 1802 bar makes a great cocktail.
