Great Experience in Wakiki
We flew into Honolulu in the morning jet lagged from Japan. We checked our bags at the hotel and went exploring until 3 when we could check in. For an unknown but happy reason we got upgraded to a suite on the 10th floor where we had a huge view of the mountains and canal. The front desk was helpful at all times. There is a pool and tables outside the hotel. The lobby is cozy. The housekeeping staff was helpful and efficient. The Coconut is 15 min walk straight down the street to the beach. It is affordable and had everything we needed. True, it is a big "dated"but we liked it that way. There's traffic noise at busy times. Unlike many chains that now don't even offer room service, we could have had it anytime. We used Lyft to get to and from the airport and walked down a few blocks to restaurants, the beach and hop on hop off trolleys.

Great up front team, rooms need attention.
I was here for 3 weeks on a business trip. The staff was outstanding. I interacted with front desk, valet, and maintenance and they were all wonderful, respectful and prompt in addressing requests. The rooms were a little dated and could have been better cleaned. There was still hair on the bathroom floor from a previous guest. It would have been nice to see a hot plate or something other than just a microwave and a hot water kettle to cook with since I was on an extended trip but there are plenty of options within easy walking distance. $40 a day for hotel guest parking seems a little steep to me but it was nice to not have to hunt for parking. Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful experience at your hotel.

Good locations and staff, rooms were lacking.
First, the staff are all wonderful and the hotel is very close to the beach and shoping. My low review is due to the rooms. If you have a mountain view room the noise from the street is pretty bad. The room was spacious, but collecting heavy dust around a fire extinguiser on the wall, needed a good scrub in the shower, and the bedding was the worst I have ever had at a hotel. Never have I had sheets that were pilling in a hotel, but the bed sheet was so bad I put a towel down for a better texture.

Fast and excellent service!
Stay was fantastic! Would love to come back again! Erica at the front desk was so nice too made my stay amazing! Helped me all the way through my check in! Fast and easy!

Bedbugs
We have stayed here for ten years for our medical visits to Honolulu. I found a bedbug crawling up my husband’s shirt when he sat up in bed. I put it in a ziploc and presented it to the front desk very early in the morning. (Although I’ve never seen one alive, I knew it was a bedbug from previous training at work many years ago.)I told them I would be back to talk to the manager. When we came back they said we will give you free valet parking and your resort fee back. $34.50. I asked to speak to manager. Manager told me that most likely we brought the bedbug. I then asked point blank if they had bedbugs and she said “we have, but we address it promptly”. Well guess what, we’ve never had bedbugs- I am appalled and we will never stay there again. I do feel they have some lovely and helpful employees, but I can’t believe they tried to put that off on us. On inspection. I had two bites on my ankle and there were feces all in the bed linens. We spent 3 hours when we got home (and remember my husband was at the hospital!) peeling off our clothes and emptying everything into a hot wash and into the dryer, we put all other items into white trash bags and inspected everything by hand. Then wrapped them up and tied them into bags for 3 days and inspected again. We soaked all luggage and cases with isopropyl alcohol. We are still going through things 3 days later , to try to ensure that we did not bring them home. Stay away from this hotel, they are going downhill fast.
