Nice resort for the family
We recently stayed at this resort with our family and had an overall enjoyable experience. The location is excellent, the atmosphere is very family-friendly, and the pool area was a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for kids. There were plenty of family activities throughout the week, and the food trucks on-site were a great bonus that made meals easy and fun. We loved being close to Hanalei bay and the nearby hiking. We did most of our activities on the south side of the island and we did not mind traveling back and forth. However, one major drawback affected our stay: the persistent pressure to attend the 90-minute “free vacation” presentation, which is essentially a timeshare pitch. We declined early on, but the staff continued to ask throughout the week. We even received a call in our room asking again, and every visit to the Concierge desk came with another prompt to attend. Additionally, it was frustrating to be asked each time to share our reason for not wanting to attend. It became frustrating enough that we eventually sent our children to the concierge desk instead when we needed something, just to avoid the repeated sales push. We came to relax and enjoy our time together, not to justify why we didn’t want to attend a presentation. A single “no” should have been enough, and the repeated pressure left a sour taste for us. The resort has many positives, and we genuinely enjoyed most aspects, but we hope they reconsider their approach so future guests can enjoy their stay without unwanted sales tactics.

Beautiful Resort but with Problems
This is a beautiful property with lots of amenities. It is located on the north side of Kauai so to get around the island, you definitely need to rent a car. We had a 2-bedroom unit, an upgrade for us. Our room was not ready for 4 pm check-in, and our internet did not work until we logged onto Wyndham's network. Bummer. The master bathroom jetted tub was disgusting so we showered in the second bathroom. It was treacherous as there was no rubber mat or grab bar to keep from slipping. My husband suggested holding the curtain rod, which I did. The dishwasher didn't work properly as dishes were still dirty at the end of the cycle. There was a power outage while we were out one day and when we returned to the unit, we heard voices inside. Kind of scary. We were not aware of the outage so were surprised to find all the TVs on (hence the voices). The Asian food truck had delicious food. The biggest problem is the feral chickens. They are everywhere (here as well as the entire island). The roosters crow all day and woke us up too early in the night.

Cockroaches in my unit and Chlorine disaster in the pool
Bali Hai Resort – Kauai I recently stayed at the Bali Hai Resort and, while I appreciate the location and the potential the property has, my experience was unfortunately far from what I expected. First, I had an extremely unpleasant incident with the jacuzzi. The chlorine levels were excessively high, which caused noticeable swelling in my legs and even burned the hair off. This was both painful and concerning, and it raised serious questions about the safety and maintenance of the facilities. Additionally, I discovered cockroaches in the coffee maker inside my unit as well as in the laundry room. Cleanliness is a fundamental expectation in any resort, and finding pests in areas meant for food and shared use was especially disappointing. Upon finding the pests I made it aware to staff. They have brought a new coffee machine, but it had been 2 days since the incident and still no housecleaning staff has come to help with a cleaning. I truly hope management takes these issues seriously and implements corrective measures. Bali Hai has the potential to offer a great stay, but my experience fell significantly short of what a guest should reasonably expect.

Unfair fee
$20 per day RCI charges is unfair as I was told other trading companies do not I feel the greed of Wyndham and RCI is unessary

Beautiful resort in unique part of North Kauai
If you like a quieter side of the island then North shore is your bet. Spacious resort in a very unique location and setting. These are pros and cons for travelers who want to come here. The resort is close to the water but not a direct access to the beach. I would think its for someone who doesn't mind getting in the car to get a local lunch, activities or to access local beach. Most of the boat tours starts in the south side of the island. Which is about an hour and half to get to the port. Supposedly there is a landing for boats on the North shore too but these trips gets more canceled due to the weather. So we didn't go. There are few calm beaches for those who come with a child. None of the beaches have a restaurants close by so prepare to bring your own snacks. Regarding restaurants there are plenty in town but if you are foody and want to experience the best meal at the island it's probably going to be South or East. But honestly, it didn't matter because this resort comes with the kitchen. There are three trucks in the parking lot you can choose for, but it's not for everyone. The lobby has fresh coffee in the morning otherwise the condo comes in pretty stripped supply mode. You an probably request taking trash out which could be automatic I would think, but didn't care and did it ourselves. I still would come back especially with the knowledge I have now after I spent week here. It is a beautiful resort.
