Good relaxing time
We are repeat customers of 8 times. I was disappointed this year with a few things. We had 2 rooms with the request to be close and were on 2 different floors. Also requested king beds to which got doubles. The one room went without a shower for 3 days before someone actually came to fix it. These are very disappointing considering the resort was maybe 30 to 35 percent full. If we didn’t have 2 rooms that would be 3 days with no shower! Entertainment staff always wonderful. Chihuahua!!! Always a pleasure to see you and you have a way to get people up and involved. Always happy and joking. Food as always something for everyone. Definitely need more umbrellas by the pools.

Our home away from home
We've been coming here for 12+ times and usually twice per winter. It's our home away from home. Not a lot of people - maybe 35% filled, except weekends of course when the locals come in Fri. to Sun. We were disappointed not to get our bottle of Rum as frequent guests, they seem to be cutting down on some things. Food was very good as were the Italian and Mexican a la cartes. No problem getting loungers, but they do need more parasols at the main pool, there are only 4. Staff is awesome and they work hard. You pay extra for wifi, but not expensive and it was very good this trip. The cool spa pools, and view from there, is awesome with the best sunsets ever of the mountain you will ever see. We can't wait to go back in March. This trip was March 29th - December 15th, 2024

Casa Marina Beach Reef 2024
This was our second time here and my mom and step dad’s 8th time. It was lovely as always, it wasn’t super busy yet which was great, the bartenders were nice and happy as always, food was good, the rooms were clean, cleaning ladies were super nice. Chihuahua one of the workers was there to give us a warm welcome and make sure we were ready for activities and shows, same as last year he was a big part in making sure we had a great trip. Much thanks to him. The one thing that we were disappointed in compared to last year is we had no shower for the first three days, after asking and asking they then finally fixed it three days later. We haven’t experienced something like that before with this resort. Other than that will always love the place.

Beautiful place - Poor service
Casa Marina Reef resort gave us a mix feeling when coming back home. Here is how everything went: When we got out of the air plain, immediately after getting out of the security check, we got invaded by people trying to get our suitcases. Not the fault of the Hotel of course, but very bad start when its your first time getting to a new country. They then tried to sell us trips inside the airport, felt like a website filled with pop ups and malwares, but in real time. We got to the site and got greeted by rude receptionist. Did not receive much information other than the key room and two keys for towels. We were walking to our room and immediately got stopped by the SPA team who wanted to sell us deals to have an appointment with them. We told them we didn't think about a massage in our trip and we were not interested... more on that later... We got to our room, it was really nice, very comfortable, great view as we selected the Deluxe Ocean View room. 1133 was the room, great view on the beach/ocean and a walk to the buffet. Could not complain of the room, it was one of the high lights of our trip. Information on the site was only given by Air Transat on the next day, so we felt a bit lost even with the not so accurate map they have. Food was ok, not great, not terrible. We found something to eat most of the time we went to the buffet. Variations from traditional meals from there. A lot of Fish, beef, pork, chicken, sea food (mix they make of random combination of all you can think of). Deserts were pretty boring and repetitive. The worst part was the harassment that came in after with the SPA team. Every single time they saw us , they tried to sell us something and it is one of the main reasons why I am putting a low score. Only way we got to have them leave us alone was to put an appointment and cancel it last second. There was also people trying to sell us trips, same thing , but a bit less harassing. On our second and third day, in the evening, there was torrential rains and our room suffered. Sunday night, the water started to fall on my wife's head. Keep in mind that we are on the 3rd floor out of 4. We had to sleep on the other side of the bed and even then it kept appearing at different spots. The next day I went to the reception and ended up speaking with José the manager. He found us a different room, but it felt like a downgrade. We were now at 1122, the view of that room was a downgrade, so for us, this did not go on as a fix for our problem. José was great to talk to, but that did not do it for us. I will give you our Goods and Bads of this trip in a list: The Goods: 1- Site had wonderful views. 2- Site was clean 3- Noémie from the buffet staff always had a great smile and friendly attitude, best we had there. 4- Garry from the Activity groups was very friendly and was the only one who informed us properly of the site. 5- José , the manager was great to deal with. 6- I do not recall his name but one of the bar tenders (older man) was very good to deal with and very friendly. The Bads: 1- SPA team was harassing us for an appointment we didn't want to have. 2- Room was leaking from the roof and they downgraded us. 3- Pools seemed to be dirty , but it was just badly maintained and need a refresh esthetically. 4- Beach of the site was not clear on how to access as it is now only accessible from the Select area, but still accessible for the poor hahaha. The beach was extremely agitated on how the cresent formed for the beach is done. Not the Hotel's fault, just bad for a swiw. 5- The Sea A La Carte restaurant was not good at all. I chose an Octopus meal and it felt like a chopped hotdog chewie meal with Tomato sauce... anyways not great at all. My wife had the beef and it was very poorly done with horrible vegies. We cancelled the rest of our A La Carte appointment. 6- Staff was rude most of the time with the exeption of 3 members. Reception was bad, restaurant staff was cold, cooks were cold, from past experience this was one of the worst with Staff. 7-Reef pools are hard to be alone in. They are small and very popular. 8- Internet prices are not reasonable and wifi is not guaranteed in your room. This should be improved in 2024... (18 or 15 US dollars for 7 days) 9- This site makes you pay for a safe, which makes no sense at all. (15 to 18$ for 7 days) 10- Rooms don't have locks , must be why they sell safes... Someone tried to get in while my wife was in the shower, I had to yell at them to not come in. 11- Some merchants came to sell merch and jewels. They exaggerated the prices so badly. 120 US for 5 little bracelets for kids, 1 chain, 1 little sea turtle, 2 little jewels (pendants). Of course you can negotiate, but they exaggerate the price to try and steal you. Plus they are harassing you every time you pass making you feel bad not to stop. 12- When we got downgraded to the second room, we lost all channels from the tv and were stuck with spanish channels only (13 in total). 13- They only give you towels in the room for a shower. I would not recommend this site unless they fix the above.
