Mar 02, 2026Would not stay again-theft from room, damage from valet
While staying at the hotel for a week, we had airpods stolen out of our room. I had specifically told a child to not leave them out and they did anyway. We left the room for them to clean, and after the clean they were gone. Did not address with management because we had already had an issue that they did not help with. Our car was damaged by valet and the hotel management was not helpful at all. Spoke Spanish with the valet company even after we asked if they could speak English so we would understand what was happening. Would not go back, felt unsafe.

Overall, I’ve had a lovely time here at this resort. The setting is gorgeous. And I love having both ocean water to swim in andswimming pools. The hammocks under the palm trees are a great addition. I was disappointed that the air-conditioning in my room could not be turned off. And that I could never get ice from the machine in hallway. Most of the staff were lovely, but sometimes I felt like the male bartenders looked right through me because I am female A highlight for me was taking yoga every morning with Zulma. She is excellent! It is not easy to teach yoga to a lot of strangers of varying ability. Zulma always made sure that we felt comfortable, gave choices for every pose, and emphasized that this was not a competition. I love how she ended every session with gratitude of this spectacular place. Her words, not mine. She was terrific!

Feb 26, 2026Relaxing first visit to Caribe Hilton
We spent two nights at the Caribe Hilton ahead of joining a cruise. The hotel has a lovely location and friendly enthusiastic staff. I had read very mixed reviews ahead of our stay and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Positives We had a lovely room, super comfy bed on the 19th floor of the Wave Tower. The balcony was a good size and the views incredible. I asked housekeeping for firmer pillows and they arrived in a matter of minutes. Really good shower too. Pool area is lovely, lots of sun loungers and we never struggled to find loungers in the shade. Lots of pool towels available. Pool bar had a good selection of drinks. All the staff in the pool area were friendly. Reception staff before our stay via email and on checkin were responsive and helpful. We ate both nights in Rustica, Italian Restaurant which we enjoyed. Staff were welcoming and the food was good. My only criticism is a lack of vegetables with mains. Live music in main bar area. Lots of seating in main reception area. Negatives Some cosmetic refresh needed in bedrooms - paintwork, tiles, grouting etc. Breakfast is adequate but not anything special. We recently stayed at the Hilton Malta where breakfast is really good. In particular, the fruit selection is limited to pineapple and melon and the coffee isn’t nice. Coffee in Rustica and the onsite Starbucks were really good in comparison. The staff were really friendly at breakfast. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return to the Hilton Caribe.

Good 2 day vacation
Facilities were great. Breakfast buffet was good. Room was ok, had to clean the dust on the counters. Didnt like that they close at 10pm the area where is the pool. I get that closing the pool and the beach access is for safety reasons but to just be able to walk in the exterior area and enjoy the night and sit on the hamacas to hear the waves should be permited. Other than that the overall experience was good and yes I would come back to this hotel.

The hotels website refers to the Caribe Hilton as San Juan’s premier resort destination. Unfortunately, the hotel is in need of updates and remodeling. Great location and great staff, but our stay was not cheap. With resort fees and taxes, the cost was over $530 per day. Furniture in our room was old and worn. No matter what time you went for breakfast, there was a line about 20 people deep and a good wait for a table. Around the pool, there are no rules regarding saving seats. So finding a spot near the pool was next to impossible. If not for the great staff and location, I would have given this property 2 stars.
