Lack of customer service
My flight to Fort Lauderdale was cancelled the night before my departure Monday morning. I was rebooked for a flight departing on Tuesday. As we were only staying until Wednesday we decided to cancel the trip. Contacted the hotel on Sunday night to cancel and inquire about some sort of refund/credit, front desk said they couldn't cancel the reservation because the reservation was made by Expedia. A Manager would be in Monday morning, they could do it. Expedia got involved and called the hotel on my behalf and told me the hotel is refusing to refund my money. Called Monday morning and was transferred to Manager, left a voicemail to call me back. After not hearing back, I called again. This time the front desk advised me that the Manager will not be in until Wednesday. I asked to speak to whoever her supervisor is since the Manager is not around. She said, nobody's available and transferred me again to the unavailable Manager. What kind of hotel has nobody on site for 2 days that can't handle a problem?? I then left a voicemail as well as an email for the "manager" to contact me. As of Wednesday, still no communication.

Very nice hotel!
I was here the weekend of October 11-13, and overall experience was good. Pros: This was a great beachside hotel, the room was clean Room offered complimentary coffee Private beach area just for hotel guests, employee at the beach was very helpful in setting up your chairs and umbrella as well as a waiter serving food and drinks Beachside restaurant, delicious food, Lobby cafe offered breakfast Hotel "concierge" (s) were courteous and helpful Cons: There are no refunds or credits after you make a reservation There was an extra $40 room charge per day, as well as a $5 cleaning fee, which wasn't mentioned prior to booking

Customer service
Wed afternoon so not a weekend that was busy! 3 out of 4 staff we encountered were soooo rude. Felt as if we were bothering them for showing up lol Not worth the customer service or trip.

3rd time staying here
This is our 3rd time staying here with in 6 years! First of all ... Kudos to Walter in valet , attentive , hard working quick and efficient and always a smile. 2nd .. the pool attendants are amazing. Everyone I met this week was kind and also a pleasure to speak with . Kudos to Jerry at the towel desk . Great guy !! Juice bar and coffee bar amazing , the 2 young guys that are there at 7 am , make the best Matcha smoothies and coffee's. The grounds crew... spotless resort! The front desk, you call there there ASAP. This is the first time we stayed in the villas , great to on ground level and steps to the pool, however it could use a fresh coat of paint inside, new HVAC system in the place. Hot in one bedroom , fan and ac good in another . No vents in bathrooms and the employee entrance was behind our villa (925) employees were didn't like that particular villa location . Windows were old and appliances outdated, not all outlets worked ! We will for sure be back for more memories to be made !!! Love it here, highly suggest it. Back to the suites in the main building , which were beautiful each stay we have had. I'll pass on my villa next time , maybe a villa across the lawn next time more private ! Other than that ... we LOVE it here..

Favorite in Pompano
We've stayed several times at the Beachcomber and have dined at the restaurant on other occasions. This is my favorite property in the Lauderdale/Pompano area. I say that having stayed at small family operations, VRBO houses, and chain properties in the area over the years. The beachfront location is unbeatable and benefits from being slightly away from the crowded and often noisy commercial areas. Our rooms have always been clean and well maintained and the staff pleasant. Both the common areas and rooms have been renovated in the last five years. Their beachfront restaurant in the thatched roof pavilion is very nice. They have light entertainment in the bar most nights. The bar off the lobby is nice for both a morning coffee or after dinner drink. There are two pool areas and several outdoor sitting areas - I've found the spacious grounds wonderful for relaxing whether you are playing in the water or reading a book. Do go managing your expectations. It isn't a budget chain with "free" breakfast nor is it a five star resort with elaborate amenities. There is a resort fee and daily parking charge that will tack on quite a bit to the daily rate (the valet service is very attentive, but you can self park for the same fee if you choose). They require a band be worn on the grounds and have some rules to follow that make sense from the perspective of keeping the resort in good repair and safe for guests.
