Beautiful pool and gardens! Great place to stay if you don’t want to leave the hotel. You can’t walk anywhere from this hotel. There was very few towels to be seen on our trip here, both in the room and at the pool they were always out. Restaurants were good but the one was closed the whole time we were there.

Trip to San Jose
Old but very well kept facility. Spacious, Comfortable rooms. Enjoyed hotel provided airport transfer, efficient and timely. Reception staff, exceptional.

Hotel had great location and many amenities. Very close to San Jose. Room was very comfortable and a very clean with very nice decor. Staff were attentive and seemed eager to help. Had a positive experience and I would definitively return.

March 2026 Stay
This was a great stay for the start of our Costa Rica trip. The rooms are large, clean, and great views of the property. The food is delicious and the bar has a really tasty drinks. There was a pianist that played in the evenings in the lobby which was relaxing. The hotel is open air and always had nice breezes going through it. This hotel has a sauna and one of the coolest swimming pools around. Well done Barcelo San Jose.

- Advisory*Important Note* Costa Rica will impose some restrictions for Holy Week. Alcohol is not permitted to be sold or consumed.
