    Best Resort Ever!

    My wife and I have stayed at many resorts in Mexico and found the Barcelo Maya Tropical resort to one of the BEST resorts we have found!! This was our first time we stayed in the Barcelo Resort in theTropical section in premium booking and were totally overwhelmed with everything. We stayed for 14 days Aug 30-Sept 13/2025. Not sure where to start … first of all the staff was great. The personnel in the premium lounges in both the Colonial and the Tropical lobbies were fantastic, they were so friendly and helpful with any of our needs and always took time to explain or help us with questions. These were found were also excellent places to stop by for a cup of coffee and a snack at any time to take a breather from all the activities. Our room was a Junior Deluxe that was very nice. It was clean and very functional. They moved us to a Suite for our second week, and after experiencing this suite I think this is the only way to stay! I would like to say thank you to Barcelo for giving us this wonderful opportunity. This offered us so many additional options which we throughly enjoyed. Barcelo Resort has so much to see and do there. There is multiple lobbies that each offer different experiences, the Mayan Mall , water parks, mini golf, 10 pin bowling, go carts and so much more! We didn’t get a chance to try everything so we will have to return to try and finish everything. There is literally everything you need at this resort. The food was superb in all the buffets and the Sports Bar (Strikers) as well a the staff was very attentive and helpful. A special shout out should go to the kitchen staff/Chefs’ as they always went above and beyond with the meal preparations. There was always a great variety of choices and I am sure this is a daunting feat! The specialty restaurants offered many different food choices and were also fantastic as well a the beach lunch restaurants were great! I almost forgot, the gym was fantastic too. All the equipment is well maintained clean and up to date. It was tough to limit my time there .. the staff was so friendly and courteous and will always answer any questions. The beaches, pools and grounds were so clean and well kept. We spent many hours just walking in joying the sights and sounds of this fantastic resort. If we got tired, there was always a double decked bus every 10 minutes you can hop on to that takes you anywhere on the resort! They really thought of everything here!!! There are many small vendors selling local wares as well as larger stores that carry anything you may need or run out of. If there was an option to give this resort a 6 star rating, I would give it that. Thank you for everything Terry / Darlene Macfarlane

    Clean beautiful resort

    Spent a week here and everything was great. Very clean and well maintained. Good variety of different food. Beach is what it is for the area...got to swim with turtles very cool

    Unforgettable weeding anniversary vacation at Barcelo Tropical

    Our vacation was wonderful, and upgrading to the premium level was a true game changer. The added comfort and exclusive amenities made the whole experience much more relaxing and enjoyable. Tip? Request room 7309.

    Lots of fun!

    Visiting for a friend’s 30th birthday. Food has been great, fun vibes, kid friendly too! Leslie Gomez in entertainment in the tropical resort is the best! Fun and helpful!
