Too many to list
5star this place is not!!! Don’t buy into the internet sales trying to tell you this “new” and “5 star”. Total bs. 90% of the staff are rude and love to say “no”. Room cleanliness has been an issue since day one. ( we are on day 6). If you want the restaurants instead of the public trough, you better make rsvp’s as soon as you can. We can’t get into half of them. We couldn’t get into the Brazilian lace or the steak house for two weeks. I was booking on the 16th when we arrived. Just another all inclusive….

LUXURY AT ITS BEST!
This luxury resort is a gem in the Maya Riviera. All-inclusive, excellent installations, large and ample rooms. Spectacular food and good quality drinks. Worth every penny!

Is PREMIUM worth it-
We started our trip to the Barcelo adults only with Chacho Transfers (Fermin) and they were fantastic with great family values. The ride was fast, and the shuttles were much newer and cleaner (no cheap smelling air fresheners-headache producing) and then the other companies we have used. Their prices also included water, Agua de Jamaica and beer to have a wonderful 50 min. ride and smooth experience to the resort. Highly recommended! We arrive to the "Premium" Experience: As loyal and "special level member" of the Barceló guests (this was our 8th stay at a Barceló resort and 3rd at this specific adults-only section), we decided to upgrade to Premium this time. Our main goals were to ensure the Ocean Front view as advertised and to secure restaurant reservations ahead of time to avoid past hiccups. Also, it is listed that the premium gives you upgraded toiletries, but I can assure you that they are the same ones as in the normal room categories. *Unfortunately, the upgrade did not at all live up to the cost or the experience: The View & Room: We specifically requested the 4th or 5th floor to get the true Ocean Front experience. Instead, they initially placed us on the 2nd floor where trees completely blocked the water view. After a very long fight, we were finally able to move up to the 3rd floor, but we had to settle for a room with separate beds just to get any kind of view. This was far from the "Premium" experience as advertised and that we paid for. The Reservations: Even though we booked through the Premium concierge before we even arrived, we were unable to get into the Santa Fe Steakhouse or the Brasserie at all during our stay. We were told the Brasserie was fully booked for the entire week with no availability, which is unacceptable when paying for a "Premium" service specifically to avoid this. Yes, they do offer their own French restaurant, but we have been disappointed with their food in comparison to at the Palace. The Highlights: Despite the frustrations with the upgrade, there were several bright spots: Dining: The service at the Brazilian Steakhouse was excellent. However, we all agreed the non-hibachi food was the best food of this trip—even better than our favorite Brazilian dishes! Room Service: A highlight was the room service experience; having coffee right away and food delivered at a scheduled time to enjoy on the balcony was wonderful. I would recommend adding a couple more food options to the list. Room & Spa: The rooms stayed very clean, nice and cool with very comfortable beds. We purchased a bath bomb from Bloomish to enjoy in the balcony hot tub, which was a nice touch! Also, Jazmin at the spa gave an absolutely amazing massage. Final Verdict: The resort remains a beautiful spot-beach, sunsets, etc.-kept extremely clean, with great service overall and offers the best price tag for what you receive. However, we would not return to the Premium level again unless we were guaranteed a different experience that actually provided what was advertised.
