Overall a great holiday
Barcy kids club has been fantastic for our son, he has enjoyed going to multiple sessions & has made amazing arts & crafts (bracelets, masks, chef hat, painting) the staff are so friendly especially Susie - Susana, Sarahi & Laura! Id recommend the kids mini disco too so many fun games to play together & the Fantasia show was so magical- amazing singers great entertainment. Beautiful grounds the hotel is on, we stayed at Tropical & although the room was a bit tired & in need of modernisation you only really sleep there so was adequate. The beach & pools are fantastic. Lots of nature to be seen. We saw plenty of iguanas, pelicans, raccoons even a sea snake & stingray.

A nice vacation
A family of 4 ( 2 kids and 2 adults. The kids spent a lot of time in the kids club ,they enjoyed different activities. The kids club stuff (Laura, Sarahi and Susanna we so kind and friendly) while we enjoyed the hydrotherapy in the spa. The premium level room was clean and spacious, always some sandwiches and snacks, top shelf alcohol. I wish the premium level stuff would be more helpful. Hopefully we will come back.

Over the top service
The entire facility is very well maintained. Everything is clean and neat. The pools are sparkling clean, the grounds are immaculately kept and the whole layout is just breathtaking. We will definitely be back!

Loved our stay at Barcelo
My family of 4 had a great time at Barcelo. We took one day tour to Chichin Itza and we used Barcelo travel services. We didn't like the bus but overall was ok. The resort is beautiful and the food is great. Make sure you make reservations for restaurants. The Asian in the mall is great. I usually prefer the buffets but I dont regret the dining at the restaurants. The resort is clean and it wasyvery crowded. The pool is so big that it doesn't get crowded. The beach is nice. There is seaweed but there are spots that are very clean and nice. The beach is better in front of Tropical and Barcelo Beach. It is more rocky in front of Palace. There you can see turtles and fish. Lots of fish. Fish literally is following you to feed them. Many ppl do. Try the non motorized bikes in the first days as we tried to do that last day and it was windy so we couldn't. We let our kids swim with the delphins. You can negotiate the price. We paid 160 for 2.kids. it was a nice experience for them. Couldn't make good pictures as the people who are not swimming with dolphins would have to stay behind the fence which is far. The zip line is not open. There are few cenotes just across the hotel. But you need to cross the highway. The cenotes are beautiful. They also cost little over 50-70.dollars per person. We went to check jt out and decided the next day to visit. It is like a paradise in the jungle. Worth every penny. The cenodes in front of the hotel were better than the one we visited with the bus to Chichin Itza. Overall lived the resort and we will return.

Mexico in May
The beaches are wonderful despite masses of seaweed. The pools are great and the food is good. Our room looked clean every day but there were bedbugs, and we got bit every night. Bring some anti-itch medication. We've had the same experience in past years at this hotel. The architecture and the grounds are quite lovely. The nightly entertainment was pretty much the same shows from last year, nothing new. The amplified sound in the theater is turned up way too high - painfully loud. Bring ear plugs or noise-cancelling headphones. Too noisy to speak or order a drink once the show starts. Why design a theater with perfect acoustics and then fill it will amplifiers like a football stadium? You can listen to the show and understand the lyrics better from a hammock by the beach a quarter mile away. The walks along the beaches are nice even though they are hauling away seaweed with industrial dump trucks. This place used to be much nicer back before they built the new monstrous modern (out of place) hotel down beyond the Maya Beach. How unfortunate. All in all, this is still a pleasant place to visit, but it has seen better days.
