Adult family of 6, will not return
Will not return. Adult family of 6 with 4 rooms , stayed at the palace. Rooms are huge and clean, beach is pristine, pools and wait staff were amazing. However, check in was a nightmare, wasted our first day , rude check in staff, no organization two of our party’s rooms were not available ( I’m realizing now due to OVER BOOKING ) spent the entire first day waiting and switching rooms only to be the furthest apart from each other. This would normally not be an issue however this resort is massive. We could never find each other as we were put at the back of the resort extremely far away from our other family members, there was “nothing they could do” we were so far away Our balcony literally overlooked the shuttle and parking lot. Get ready for 20 to 30k steps in!! My husband and I are hikers and even this was a bit much everyday! There was a music festival happening during our entire stay and as such we could not access half of the resort! We paid for the Palace which advertises you to utilize all 5 section , however due to this “private event “ we were unable to access any restaurants / beach/ grills or other amenities of 50% of this resort. This needed to be advertised and communicated with people booking prior to staying, absolutely ridiculous! Tokyo restaurants gave away our hibachi table reservation ( was for our anniversary) again due to over booking. This resort was pure chaos , unorganized and un accommodating. Unless you are a family with small children and stay close to the beach this resort is totally not worth it. Cenotes across the street were just amazing and snorkeling out front of the palace we saw sea turtles and lots of fish every day. It’s really an amazing location, and beach. It’s too bad the Barceló is completely unorganized and seemingly overwhelmed with the amount of guest checking in each day.

Wonderful Stay with Great Staff
Everything was wonderful during our Girls Just Wanna Weekend stay. The only minor problem we had was a small leak near the thermostat, but not enough to ask for maintenance to fix it and it did not disturb our amazing stay!

Family
Not very good family trip, missing service at front desk. Large group no accommodations for dinners at rooms proximity

Relaxing long weekend
Beautiful resort, excellent customer service. We were there for a music festival and everything went very smoothly. Had a great time and would definitely recommend.

If you want hot food or restaurant reservations chose a smaller resort..
We had a great time with family but the pools were to cold in January. The ocean was warmer. The beach is fantastic and child friendly going into the water. You need to book restaurants as soon as you get there or they are all gone.
