Great resort with a lot of activities for all ages. Amazing staff and guest services.Pools are clean and beaches are well maintained

This resort had issues galore. The food made both of us sick and scared to eat. Our room had issues as of night 1 and had to change rooms at 2am. The staff did not seem apologetic. They really only seemed to be nice to us our last few days. The restaurants food quality is no better than the buffets, and the alcohol in the drinks was poor. Of course at an all inclusive, you expect to not have michelin star cooking, but this was truly the worst I have experienced, having visited many all inclusives in my life. We were disappointed to say the least. The only truly good part of our stay was the beach, the sand is great and water was awesome.

The beach is stunning. Rooms were comfortable and clean and our A/C worked well. Resort was also kept very clean. We had 2 rooms as family of 6 It would have been nice to stay together in one family room as they can easily sleep 6. Overall staff was friendly, though we don't speak Spanish as Canadians beyond the most basic, so at times communication was challenging. Food was overall good- not gourmet or anything, but we can't complain. The buffets had a lot of options and were kept clean. At the peak times on weekends it looked like it was hard for staff to keep up, but totally understandable as it is a huge resort. My biggest disappointment was daytime sports/entertainment was not as accessible and organized as it could be. Only 2 beach volleyball courts for such a huge resort was disappointing. Pool volleyball would be on itinerary but no staff would show up with a ball. Our kids would ask for a ball and just get a " No". I would advise bringing own balls/toys to play with in pools. Maybe because we are not a late night family, but I found the nighttime entertainment times not family friendly. A kid one at 8pm then a large gap of time and the main event at 10pm.

The room smelled like mould. The TV did not work. The air conditioning did not go under 24c. The fridge would not get cold. The sliding door to go out back did not have a handle on the outside making it difficult to get back in. When I called for service and complaints, nobody got back to us, and nobody came by

Bavaro stay
I will definetly not stay at the Bavaro EVER again. While traveling home there was a half drank bottle of Dominican whiskey in one of our luggage’s. It was NOT there when w checker out at around 1pm. We left our luggage where the attendants told us was safe. We returned at around 3pm when we were leaving and left to the airport. We finally came up to opening our luggage to a half drank bottle of Dominican whiskey. We have complained to the hotel about it and there was NO CARE whatsoever from the hotel.
