Pros and cons that i noticed
I dont hate it, id come back….but the beach is very rocky while trying to get in (fine once your farther out) i noticed i personally got hit by quite a but of plastic in the water and lots of seaweed floating around. Very good for seeing turtles (you can feed them bananas if you bring one). The restaurants are good but very hard to bring a child to them, as the availability is after 6:30. Alot of the kid friendly experiences such as bowling or surfing on a bodyboard, ect. Require a hight/ age limit (even if you reach the hight you need to be old enough). The buffet is okay, anyone can find something to eat but personally its not delicious.

Non-working anemities
Disappointed with broken elevator and non-working balcony lights so we couldn't use our hot tub during our 37th wedding anniversary vacation

Hoping for the best but got the worst
I have been to many all inclusive hotels in DR, Mexico and Cuba and this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. The resort grounds are beautiful and very well kept and the public bathrooms are very clean. I would say the main reason why I will never be back is how unfriendly 99% of the staff are. I have never felt so unwelcome at a resort in my entire life. When we travel we like to tip well and have always received good service but more importantly we have always built relationships with the workers and in turn they make us feel like family. This resort was the complete opposite. We would tip and get dirty looks. They speak little to no English which is fine I get it we are in their country but i couldn’t even order simple drinks or ask for a fork or spoon without being told no and pointing to another staff to ask the same question. The one day I wanted a cup for the juice and I was directed to 6 different people and still no cup. I can’t tell you how many times I heard the words “lady no” with a dirty look behind it. The food was terrible. Yes of course there is always something you can find so you don’t starve but the amount of money you pay to be at the resort I expect more than just surviving. The food that is suppose to be hot is cold and the food that is suppose to be cold is room temperature. The dinner buffet did not open until 6:30pm and we were often the first to dinner so you would think the food would be fresh and hot or at least warm but that was not the case. Several of us from our large group were sick from the food. The 24 hour sports bar where you were supposed to be able to get food at anytime often closed at 2am. The Vegas show was our favourite and the rest you could fall asleep at. The disco was fun and they played a nice mix of Spanish and American music. There was also a terrible smell when you walked into the sports bar, the buffet and the steak house. The small did go away by day 6. Our favourite meal was the Japanese restaurant and the guy doing our show was incredible the best we have had at any other resort. Unfortunately we could not wait to leave this resort by day 4 and I will never ever return to any Barcelo chain restaurants just incase it’s anything like this resort.
