5 Star Resort at a 3 star value!!!
Do yourselves a favor and spend the just under $300 a night for the Panoramic Suite Ocean front. This was by far the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was beyond my imagination, just as the whole resort was. It was so worth the money at the end of the day and cant wait to do it again.

Great Family Resort
We had a great time at Barcelo Bavaro Palace! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms comfortable and clean. We were a group of 21 and celebrated a birthday while there and the resort was able to accommodate our large group for an a la carte dinner and brought in a surprise birthday cake. We were very impressed with the overall service and effort. The food in general was good - the buffet was a little repetitive, but overall tasty. The best a La carte by far is the Japanese! That was the best meal we had at the resort, great chef and entertainment. The evening shows were hit and miss - we went to most of them while we were there. The only two note worthy were the Circus show and Michael Jackson show. The Michael Jackson show being the shining star - it really was very entertaining! The rest were mediocre at best. We enjoyed the sports bar for late night eats, it always had a decent buffet regardless of the time of day. They have a big screen and played most sports; football, basketball, baseball and soccer - only issue we had being from Canada we were unable to convince them to put on any hockey games (we had a couple avid Leaf's fans with us who were disappointed they didn't get to watch them lose ha). The pools were great and had both adult friendly and kid friendly spaces, we particularly enjoyed the water park, we received a free day as we stayed in the frailly rooms. The reason my review is 4 instead of 5 - Room service was not included in the all inclusive package No servers in the pool and beach area - you had to go to the bar to get your own drinks (not the end of the world I imagine it's due to the resort size), but at other resorts we have been to there is servers present in the pool and beach areas. Music in the disco - we went 3 nights and all 3 nights we found the same thing the dance floor would be full and then the music would change to a techno playlist and it would clear. The techno play list was to long and eventually people would leave. I am all for a variety of music, but I think there also needs to be more flexibility and changes based on the current crowd you have. The DJ was not interested in taking music requests either. This was really the most disappointing as we love to dance to Dominican music and American music. Overall this did not stop us from having a great time, I would stay here again.

Check-In to Check-Out Awesome
From Check-in to Check-out everything was great. Panoramic room with premium is where it is at. Julay in Premium services was fantastic to deal with and really set my wife and I up. Thank you. Our cleaning lady- I never got her name- did a wonderful job and cannot thank her enough. 85% of the staff always had a smile and were welcoming but I realize we all have off days so that is ok. Food was decent. I didn't have to make it and there was a great selection. Don't like what you took go try something different. They do have to accommodate for a lot of people. Drinks were how you want them. Strong or lite. Just let the staff know. Grounds and the beach are all well kept and beautiful. All kinds of entertainment, casino, escape room, bowling, golf and shows. Big resort lots of walking but lots to look at while you do. Only complaint really is lighting in stair wells especially after a few drinks but there are elevators. Thanks for a great week. Strongly suggesting this resort to my Sister in Law who is looking to book a destination wedding in January 2026. So that must mean something. Otherwise I hear about it for ever..........

Keep looking
This is a very large resort and very unorganized. The bread was moldy, we had two roaches on our dinner table. If you are planning on not eating at the resort at all, then this might be a good option
