Jan 24, 2025HORRIBLE SERVICE HOT ROOM
The staff at this resort despises the guests. They are completely annoyed and put off if you ask a question. If you do not speak Spanish, you will be ignored! Believe the bad reviews, they are accurate! The maintenance of the facilities is very poor. Expect most things to be broken or not work properly. Poor A/C in room. The room was warm and humid and never cooled off. I reported the issue to the front desk staff 4 times. Maintenance came to the room twice but did not resolve the A/C issue. Elevator operated intermittently. Refrigerator in room did not work properly. Drinks in refrigerator were lukewarm. Believe the bad reviews concerning the food. Very disappointing. Staff at buffet very inattentive. Saw one waitress cleaning out her fingernails with a toothpick.

Hard to navigate if you don’t speak spanish
The resort is VERY large and there are rules about what you can and can’t use, how to get dinner reservations, and how to navigate the services. Nothing was explained well. We do not speak Spanish and this made it extremely hard to navigate and get questions answered. May have been a better experience if we spoke Spanish. We may have missed experiences at the resort because we did not know about them. Because of that, seemed expensive for what we were able to do.

There were many children, from infants to teenagers. There are also adults-only areas. Nice beach, lots of lounges. The only negative is that there is no drink service by the pools or on the beach; if you would like something, you have to go to the bar. Staff members are pleasant.

Forget the bad reviews give it a go!
I would have no problem recommending this resort. We have been here for 17 days, and I’m not tired of it. Overall I would give the food a 4+. We have tried the habacci (4*), dole vita (Osso Bucco was excellent), steak house was good, Mexican was excellent and Spanish was very good. Chorales the seafood restaurant was terrible. Buffet is what you’d expect. Sports bar is good for lunch or a snack. The 19 hole is good for a sit down lunch or breakfast. The Cigar Coffe and Rum bar is amazing, I can’t believe they don’t charge extra for the coffees. The lobby bar next door with the piano player is great. Lots of bars around the resort and the staff is amazing. We had two issues in our room and the staff were very quick and attentive. If I had any negative to say about the staff is I wish the people in the Buffet restaurant would smile more. As in every resort, there aren’t enough loungers and with people taking four or five of them at once you are hard pressed to get one unless you are up at the crack of dawn. There is a tram that you can take around the resort, but I found the resort very walkable. We came here hoping to golf but unless you book your tee times months in advance, good luck. We played four rounds, great layout. Some of the greens were a little rough.

The resort itself was nice especially because I had great family around. The food leaves something to be desired. Hibachi was the best food we had there. Make sure you download the language translation app be it is hard to communicate with the staff. 10 people in my party and we laughed about the issues we had but I will not be going back to this resort.
