This was our first time at this hotel. We were very happy. Our last few trips to Punta Cana have been a little underwhelming. The resorts seem to have gone downhill a little bit over the last 10 years. The Barcelo Bavaro beach was wonderful. The only complaint (minor) that we had was the rooms are a little bit dated and tired. They are plenty big and the mattresses are fine, just the overall room condition is average. The food was the best we have ever had in The Dominican Republic. The desserts especially were great. The rest of the food (while good for the Dominican Republic) was ok to pretty good. The beach was wonderful. Plenty of chairs and white sand. The pool was very nice too. We stayed on the adults only side. It is a little bit smaller than the family side and fairly quiet. All in all we had a very nice vacation. We would definitely go back to the Barcelo!!

We had a great stay at Barceló Bávaro Adults Only and would definitely recommend it. Quick tip for anyone going: they have an “Experience Team” program where they assign someone to help you during your trip. Francisco was amazing—he made everything easy and helped us book all our restaurant reservations and activities. He really helped the whole trip run smoothly. Just being honest, the rooms in the adults-only section could use an update, but the location is perfect. The pools were always clean, the beach is right there, and there are tons of food options. We actually thought the buffets were really good—lots of variety and everything we tried seemed fresh. Our favorite spot was Chez Gourmet. That was the standout meal for us. The rest of the staff was great too, and overall the trip was exactly what we wanted—calm, easy, and relaxing. We’re still talking about it.

Overall we had a great trip
We had a great trip overall. The only negative was the food at chez gormet and the service at the steakhouse. We asked 5 times for water and ate our meal with no drinks. Everything else was very pleasant and enjoyable.

Amazing Vacation.
From check-in to check-out we had so much fun. The staff is amazing and the rooms were great. The staff go out of their way to make you feel special!
