Mar 27, 2026Beautiful property, but very disappointing handling of a child injury
We recently stayed at Baldi Hot Springs Resort and had a very difficult experience that significantly impacted our trip. Our 6-year-old son was injured on the kiddie water slide and hit his mouth badly enough that we had to leave the resort to seek emergency dental care. We were gone for several hours that evening, and the situation resulted in two tooth extractions. After returning home, our son required an additional surgical procedure under anesthesia to remove a remaining broken root, which added further cost and stress for our family. As a result, we lost most of that evening, the following morning, and had to cancel planned activities. We were also told at the time that the resort would assist with covering the initial doctor consultation at Unimed, but this was never followed up on. In addition, we made multiple attempts to contact the resort afterward by email and phone and have not received any response. The property itself is very nice, which makes this even more disappointing. We simply expected better communication and support following an incident involving a child at a resort of this level. We would still welcome the opportunity to resolve this directly with management.

Being immersed in the spa inside living forest for the afternoon was amazing. Iguanas joined us. Had an issue paying in dollars with a Visa credit card ( reception had only a tap mobile phone and weren't trying to help make payment easy) The hot springs were varied in style, and temperature changed in different pools. The geothermal waters were delightful, and cascades the walking surfaces around the pools less so. Self service buffet dinner was fresh, plentiful.

2 I’ve visited Baldi Hot Springs Hotel Resort & Spa before, and one of the best conveniences used to be the ability to charge food and drinks directly to your wristband. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Now you are required to carry a credit card and open an account before making any purchases. This completely takes away from the relaxing, carefree experience a hot springs resort should provide. What’s disappointing is that this change was not clearly communicated in advance. Guests expect a seamless experience, not having to worry about carrying cards around pools and thermal areas. For a resort of this level, this feels like a step backward in service and guest convenience. I hope management either reconsiders this policy or is at least transparent about it before guests arrive.

My wife and I booked these day passes last minute. What a great decision that turned out to be! We had such a relaxing, peaceful experience as we explored all the different hot springs. They have great bars along the way. We also got one hour massages as a couple. Our tables were above rocks with water flowing over them, even beautiful views face down at a massage table! 😊 The massages were excellent!!! Lunch wasn’t our favorite, but the rest of the experience was five star all the way!!!! My wife and I highly recommend this experience!!!!

Very nice place to go fir hot springs!
We had a great time! It is a beautiful place with restaurants, bars, kids zone, seimming pools, spa, hotel, great option in La Fortuna
