I stayed in the Turquesa for ten nights. Yes, the rooms are very very dated but the mattress was new, the pillows excellent. The shower was great, no issues with water temperature. Great balcony. Staff kept the room impeccably clean. I spilled water, used a white towel to clean it up, towel stayed white. Minibar filled regularly. Our room had a door locking issue night one, it was fixed in under thirty minutes. That's incredible service from maintenance in a resort this size. Good air conditioning. There is a ton of entertainment at the pools, lobby, theatre. Live music was always our favourite. The beach is outstanding here. Gorgeous sunrises. We were always able to find a chair with the help of staff in yellow shirts on the beach, any time of day. Many swimming pools to choose from. The Turquesa pool is by far the quietest which is really nice. Always many chairs available and towels available. The towel hut by the beach seemed to run out of towels often. We did the lunch buffet by the beach daily, great salad bar options. Went to the Rodizo, Greek, Tex Mex and Fish Market a la carte restaurants. Fish market was outstanding. Tex Mex was way too much food but it was good. Order for one and share. Rodizo and Greek also great. The food truck is open really late and by the beach also, but it's all fried food (fries, wings, burgers, hotdogs, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, sweet potato fries) good but only ate there once. The wings are huge and really excellent. Our dinner buffet was good, particularly the fresh grilled fish, pichana beef and chicken. Good vegan section with tofu on it daily. Lots of fruit which staff would even provide us to go to the beach for snack. I enjoyed having plantain and cassava almost daily. It's a 15 minute leisurely walk to the beach which is quite enjoyable. Love stopping to look at the wildlife in the mangroves daily. The shuttle runs from 6am to 3am daily, 21 hours a day! We never waited more than two minutes for a shuttle and it was usually always right there. Shuttle drivers have great personalities. The Turquesa is also nicely located by the market area stores, theatre for larger shows, spa, mini golf, casino, disco, etc. Grounds are kept very nicely and clean, we always saw at ton of staff working on the property. This was a wonderful vacation. I would come back. It was exceptional value for money. Thank you to the hard-working staff who made our vacation fantastic.

Overall an “ok” place to stay - but if you’re with a young family or prefer a quieter vacation this is not the spot for you. The good: Friendly and hard working staff Nice main pool Beach is gorgeous Very nice buffet meal on Valentine’s Day, and staff did a nice job decorating. Seafood ala carts is great food A/C worked well in our rooms Shuttle to the beach is quick The not so good: We were told our room was 2 queens- however by North American standard they’re definitely doubles not queens. Barely saw any bugs but you will get bites. Bring bug spray, Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream as they are super itchy. This resort is constantly pumping loud party music from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the main pool/ lobby area. If you go to bed prior to 11:30 p.m. don’t let them put you in a room anywhere near the lobby- the music is very loud and there’s no drowning it out. Food is “ok” but if you like your food seasoned you’ll haveto do it yourself at the table with the salt and pepper shakers. Seems like they don’t have enough staff in the buffet, those that are there work very hard but the hotel should put more people in there for serving drinks / coffee etc. Do not use the bathrooms in the buffet building - they are absolutely disgusting for some reason. Smelled so bad I gagged and needed to leave and use the lobby bathroom. Several people in our group commented the same - managers if you’re listening FIX THIS… it’s gross!

The resort spoke absolutely no English. 99% of guests spoke Spanish. All communication, music and entertainment was in Spanish. 99% of the employees did not understand English. The bartenders were not trained and had no idea how to make drinks unless it came out of a machine. The buffet never changed and all food was cold and over cooked. If you only speak English you don’t want to stay at any of the Bahia Principe properties!! The beach is absolutely beautiful, but for the number of guest it serves, it is not accessible. Unless you get to the beach at 8am in the morning and you don’t mind sitting on top of other guests, You can’t use this beautiful beach!!! I have never been to a resort that limits your use of specialty restaurants and gives you no option to upgrade. I TRAVEL ALL OVER THE WORLD AND HAVE NEVER FELT SO ISOLATED!

BP Grand Turquesa in mid Jan 2026 was amazing! Resort staff were professional & courteous. The buffet & à la carte delicious & fresh, & the staff provided excellent service. I will definitely be returning in the near future.
