Best for families with young children
We had an amazing stay in Punta Cana, especially as a family. The pools were the highlight, multiple options plus a fantastic mini water park that kept the kids entertained for hours. It’s truly designed with families in mind. The beach was just as beautiful, with soft white sand and calm, clear water that made it easy to relax while the kids played. The food was average, plenty of choices, but nothing extraordinary. However, the service more than made up for it. The staff was exceptional, friendly, attentive, and wonderful with children. If you’re traveling with kids, this resort is a fantastic choice for the pools, beach, and outstanding service alone.

Brilliant
Had the best of time! The pool is amazing, and everything around, like the swim up bar and staff! The staff is what made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Tip if you can. I hope I’ll come back again

Beware of the language barrier
I want to start off by saying this may come across as a “smug American” complaining about a foreign country, and I completely acknowledge that. But I want others who are considering this resort, to know what our experience was. First of all, we chose this resort because a family member took a large group family vacation there 6 years ago and said it was the best thing they’ve ever done. Trusting their opinion, I did zero research and booked our group of 13 for 6 nights. We booked 5 rooms (1 for each of the 3 adult couples, 1 room for the boy kids, 1 room for the girl kids). We absolutely could have squeezed into less rooms, but this is what we chose to do. The service at this resort, from the wait staff, the concierge, the bell men, everything was top notch. All you had to do was ask for something, and it came (well kind of, see the below paragraph about language barriers). The buffet/outdoor grill food was just okay. It was exactly what I have come to expect from an all inclusive resort. There was TONS of food, many different options, and everything was “good, but nothing was great.” The specialty dining restaurants- which are included- were FANTASTIC. We ate at Flame, Rodizio, Il Paradisio, Maiko and we did the Oneiro dinner show. Each and every one was awesome, it was the highlight of each day and the entire trip. The pool facilities are awesome. Massive pool, attentive wait staff, plenty of chairs, all that stuff. The downside was the pool “games” were essentially non existent. Other than the daily game of water polo, there was nothing really great going on. During the previous vacation, there were TONS of activities for both kids and adults to really make the pool experience great. Nonetheless, we still went there everyday and spent several hours. The beach is very close, but it doesn’t matter because there are golf carts to take you all around the resort. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride. This resort is part of a collection of several Bahia resorts. This resort was advertised as their guests could go to all the other resorts (except the adults only) but no one was allowed in our resort. This was completely not true. We were met with security guards who wouldn’t let us pass through a neighboring resort to get to the beach. We encountered bars who wouldn’t serve us because we had to go to our “specific Fantasía beach bar.” This may sound minor, but I just don’t understand it. I’m allowed to be there, but I can’t use any amenities, the whole property is the same Bahia brand. Ok lastly, this is a Spanish speaking resort, bottom line. We are English speakers from the US and we had a very difficult time. I would say we didn’t encounter one employee who could fluently speak English. The bartenders constantly made wrong drinks because they didn’t understand the order. Waiters constantly brought out wrong food items. I’m not blaming them for speaking the native language of the country, I’ve just never encountered a resort where essentially no one could help us in English. Even worse, the entertainment was in Spanish. For the first night or two, it was a cool, different experience. But by night 3 it got really old. Clearly there was a large population of Spanish speaking guests who LOVED the entertainment. That being said, we hated it. The kids really really hated it, which meant they wanted out of there every night. Bottom line- if you’re an English speaker, I would strongly recommend a different resort. If you’re a Spanish speaker, you’ll probably love it.

Only book here if you don’t care about food or service and only want to enjoy the kids activities.
Booked this last minute because our initial trip got cancelled due to weather. Aside from the weather and maybe the water park and activities for kids this place is not worth it. The food was awful. We got sick multiple times and it’s not like we drank the water. Trying to get reservations at the à la cartes were almost impossible and when we did the service was 2 hours long. I said I was pregnant and still got served ice cream with alcohol in it. And it wasn’t a communication error because I speak English and Spanish. There are flies on the food and mosquitos everywhere even in the rooms. You can’t even relax at the pool or beach without being solicited stuff. I understand the beach but the pool is ridiculous. The only way I would consider this all inclusive is if you have kids and don’t care about the quality or taste of the food.

Unacceptable service, unpleasant food, over crowded common areas.
The beach is too crowded, the food is of very low quality, the buffet is too small for the amount of people eating there 3 times a day, service at the buffet is unacceptable by even low standards. The waiters are literally rolling their eyes when you ask them for beverages or a milk for coffee. If you want to be constantly stressed out book this hotel.
