Best vacation ever 2026
Everything about this resort is amazing, i am here presently with two of my kids. Ages 10 and 5. There was a little minor issue with the room we checked into on March 20th 2026 and even tho we did not think of it as a big issue. They upgraded our room to an amazing castle view, the kids loves it. The staff have been very kind, food is great, the pool and the drinks. No complaints here. Thanks for an amazing vacation. The Samaroo family.

Amazing holiday will definitely return
We have just returned from the Bahia Principe where we stayed at the Fantasia hotel. It had been a stressful time before going as we were due to go to Dubia and had it cancelled 36 hours before flying and luckily booked The Bahia 36 hours before departing to the Dominican Republic. When we arrived at the hotel the check in was really easy and smooth the Lobby staff took our bags and took us to our room. We had booked a deluxe junior suite which was gorgeous and spacious, two double beds I was travelling with my mum, the bathroom was huge and the room very clean and prepared. The room was cleaned on a daily basis beds made, bathrooms cleaned and mini bar stocked. During our stay we didn't do any excursions as our plan was to literally rest and sunbathe, but we did speak to others who had been whale watching, swimming with the dolphins and the buggy rides and said it was amazing although you do get very muddy on the buggy rides which is to be expected. The food was lovely and lots of variety for breakfast, dinner and tea we didn't use the snack bar, we had booked the a la carte restaurants, in which we visited two, but didn't eat and left this was due to the menu being very limited and dietary requirements. You do need to book these in advance as they book up very quicky, one recommendation is the dinner show it was fabulous and the meal was great. The main buffet was lovely though kept very clean and tidy which was great as some families with children really do leave a mess with food all over the floor which is quickly cleaned up. Special thank you Esmerlin and Gieuianny who greeted us at the entrance to the buffet and sat us outside where we liked to sit always with a big smile on their faces. The serving staff were all amazing as well I didn't catch names as they dont always stay in the same rea from day to day. The chefs always looked smart again the buffet was lovely with lots of variety. The pool is amazing there are two parts the first part is the quieter part where the just adults used ( it is not an adult only pool), but the hotel was on the quieter side it did start to get busy as we were leaving due to American/ Canadian holidays. The other end of the pool is the kids area where the music is, the entertainment team did activities, dancing, foam party and an inflatable assault course. The pool was always kept really neat and tidy and best of all very clean. The bar is situated in between the two pools, the staff were very attentive round the pool from bar staff, cleaner, towel staff, life guards and the bar staff. I special shout out to Morelia, Dilcia and Juana were great and most all Onairis who was amazing always had a smile on her face and asked how we were whilst providing us with lots of all inclusive drinks always going above and beyond. After the pool we always went up to the bar in the lobby for some drinks which again all the staff very attentive and a special shout to Ana so lovely and happy and always asking if we were ok and needed anything. One thing I will say about the lobby and the surrounding areas there are a lot of mosquitos which like to bite a lot as well, we sat down on our first day and got 7 bites in one sitting, but after we took antihistamine and sprayed when we knew we would be that area and it settled. You will get bitten though if you don't put anything on. There is a few shops at the front of the hotel which sells bug spray and antihistamine if you don't have it with you. The hotel is a lovely place to stay at and we will be returning with the rest of the family, for information the hotel is a large complex with 5 hotels all connected the a la carte restaurants are spread over the 5 hotels, there is a buggy cart service like a bus service that is there to help you get around which is amazing. There are little shops in the Bahia Principe village which is a 5 minute walk from Fantasia. The good thing is you can use the facilities in each of the hotels, we made use of the spa where my mum had three massages by the pool which she said were amazing and gorgeous I had my hair braided twice and it was lovely well worth having done. One other note if you ask where the shops are meaning Bahia village this does not require a car journey, the staff will organise a free car ride for you which does take you to a gift shop off the premises of the hotel which isn't far and can be cheaper.

Amazing family resort!
Truly an amazing resort! We traveled with our 1, 3 and 5 year olds in March 2026 and were truly impressed with every aspect of the resort. Super walkable with strollers and little kids. Food and drinks at every turn with something for everyone. The food did get a little repetitive in that they always had hot dogs, burgers, pizza available. The dinner buffet didn’t seem to have a specific theme but there was a Mexican buffet Saturday night which was truly amazing. We didn’t do à la cartes because of our small kids but the oneiro dinner show was amazing and great for the whole family! The waterpark at fantasia is great for kids and you can always find chairs at the pool, waterpark and beach no matter what time of day! Lots of shade! If staff even saw you looking. For a chair they went out of their way to make a spot by moving chairs etc. The rooms were really big and very clean (resort wide). Tons of housekeeping staff. I will say the bathrooms at the pool and waterpark had broken doors but it wasn’t that big of a deal to hold the door. The beach was amazing and you can walk forever in either direction. The beach is maybe a 5 min walk from the resort but there are also golf carts running constantly to bring people back and forth. We used the golf carts to go to the other water park at turquesa which our kids also loved and gave them another place to go! The kids club had lots of activities you can join or drop in for. They had blow up castles one day and an inflatable water obstacle in the pool another day. Honestly a great family resort!

Great for a family with little kids
It's a pretty good hotel to stay with kids. The slides and the castle experience with projection shows in the evening, daily mini disco and activities - it was a lot fo fun for 6 year olds. Restaurants a la carte were hit or miss - Japanese restaurant had a heavy sewer smell but they refused to admit any problems. Others were okay with tasty food. Overall food in the buffet was good, we had something to choose from, I just wish it was more ... native. Otherwise it was good and tasty. The staff was great with kids, always smiling, although many didn't speak English. Activities near the pool were pretty fun though, Crazy Games with inflatable slides were great. Once again, the kids were super happy. Evening shows started pretty early, posible to attend with kids and it was always a blast. Circus, dances etc - everything was more than we expected to see in a resort for free.
