Good but it could be better
They got the potencial to improve, it’s a nice hotel and I love the fact that is closer than Punta Cana to me, good options were not the best, but they have an amazing staff!! My room was good too I was closed to the lobby and coffe shop but far away from the pool and the beach. My kids enjoyed their stay but there are not enough attractions for kids though.

Great family resort with something for everybody
Great resort. We were there with a large family including 2 kids (ages 4 & 6) and a few over 70. The pool was nice and two kiddie pools nearby made it accessible for the kids to stay busy. The beach was beautiful and great for sandcastles, but disappointing because the water was cloudy and full of jellyfish. They have flags warning about the jellies but we still tried swimming, got stung 3 times within a few steps of going in the water. So swimming in the ocean was off the table unless you pay to go on excursion to a nicer beach. The buffet was amazing, so many delicious things and dietary options with special meals every night. The à-la-carte restaurants looked o.k. but didn’t have much for our gluten-free family members. Dinner service doesn’t start until 6:30pm which is late for young families. All the bars were consistent and had very friendly staff making delicious drinks. There are kids events but a bit lackluster. Some of the kids staff didn’t seem interested in the work, or maybe they didn’t speak english. Nightly 8:15pm show for kids (so late!) was just dancing to the same music each night with Spanish instructions, most kids were up on stage yawning with no idea what to do. The adult show afterwards was ok but if you want to call it an early night you will be kept up by the show regardless since it is extremely loud. We could hear it through our windows at the other end of the resort. The ride from the airport feels long but that’s nothing they can control. About 1hr15m. Checkin/out was quick and easy. The whole place seems to be in really good condition and has been kept up very well.

Solid Week in La Romana
This was a spur-of-the-moment trip to escape the horrendous Canadian winter. The bus to La Romana was about an hour and a half drive, but it didn't feel overly long or dragged out. The room was very pretty, really missing a full-length mirror here. Noise level was fine until the last couple of evenings, when we got new neighbours, and they were screaming after coming home at like 2:00 am. I do believe it was extra loud as we had a conjoining room. The resort felt clean and tidy, and the staff were always working to keep it that way. The staff was friendly throughout the resort and during our stay. I did find in the evening by the lobby bar that there were not enough servers to get drinks for those sitting around, so you had to go to the bar, wait and come back with drinks. Not a huge thing, but worthy of a mention. The Drinks were always delicious. Food was great, there was always a good selection of classics and something new to try at the buffet and snack bar. Always chairs available by the pool or beach. Would recommend water shoes as there were a lot of jellyfish.

NOT A RESORT FOR BEACH LOVERS.
The resort is ideal for guests who enjoy spending most of their time in the pool. In many ways, the property is excellent—beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with great food and service. However, the beach is a major disappointment. Although the view is stunning, the water quality is very poor due to a nearby river flowing into the sea, making it muddy and more like canal water than ocean water. There’s none of the clarity or freshness you would expect from a beach destination. Because of these conditions, there were frequent jellyfish near the shore, and the purple flag was raised throughout our stay. We attempted to enter the water, but it simply wasn’t safe or enjoyable. It’s unfortunate, as the resort itself is wonderful—but it should not be marketed as a beach resort given the condition of the water.

Waste of a vacation !!
I paid for two adults but was only given two dinner reservations for a six-night stay, leaving us stuck eating at the buffet for the other four nights. I’ve been to numerous all inclusive resorts and this was a first. At check-in, after seeing my son’s passport, staff changed his wristband to a child’s band due to his age (17), yet refused to reimburse any difference, stating adult pricing starts at age 13. This policy is confusing and unfair. I also want to address the misleading photos used to advertise the resort. The ocean is shown as clear Caribbean blue, but in reality, it is brown and murky, similar to the Jersey Shore. A nearby river about a quarter mile away dumps muddy water into the ocean, making it unappealing and unswimmable. We brought snorkeling gear but didn’t go in the water at all. Overall, this was a very disappointing and frustrating experience that did not match what was advertised, and it felt like a complete waste of our trip.
